    RAJOURI NOV 20:-Within days of joining Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University (BGSBU) as Vice Chancellor, Prof Jawaid Iqbal on Tuesday reviewed the functioning of academic and administrative departments of the University.
    In his first official meeting with senior functionaries of the University, Prof Jawaid outlined his vision for the institution’s future, emphasizing a holistic approach to the University’s development.
    Prof. Jawaid Iqbal highlighted the importance of prioritizing students’ welfare and enhancing campus facilities to provide a more conducive environment for learning, research, and personal growth.
    “I am deeply honoured to take on the role of Vice Chancellor at this prestigious institution. My primary focus would be to ensure that Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University becomes a center of academic distinction while creating an environment where students feel supported, safe, and empowered to succeed,” said Vice Chancellor (VC).
    He assured to work tirelessly to enhance campus facilities, improve student services, and foster a culture of inclusivity.
    VC, Prof Jawaid also underscored his commitment to promoting diversity and inclusivity across all aspects of university life, creating a campus that is welcoming and accessible to all students, faculty, and staff.
    “University’s strength lies in its ability to bring people together from all backgrounds and perspectives, and I intend to work closely with all members of the University community to ensure that we are a place where everyone feels valued and respected,” he added.
    Prof. Jawaid mentioned that he would continue to build upon the University’s existing strengths while exploring new opportunities for growth, particularly in research, international collaboration, and student development.
    Prof. Jawaid visited various departments and research centers across the campus to take stock of the ongoing academic and research activities, demonstrating his commitment to understanding the University’s current strengths and areas for growth. During his visits, Prof. Jawaid met with faculty, students, researcher scholars, and staff to discuss the progress of key academic initiatives.

    RAJOURI NOV 20:-Rajouri Police have successfully apprehended two individuals involved in narcotics smuggling and seized 11 grams of a heroin-like substance.

    During routine checking at Bela Naka, a police team from the Police Station Rajouri intercepted a vehicle (Registration No. JK11E 5987) which was Coming from the old bus stand towards Bela Bridge.

    The individuals in the vehicle were identified as Danish Ahmed, son of Naseer Hussain, resident of Dhanore, Dhindian and Sageer Ahmed son of Mohd Ayoub, resident of Dhanore, Loharaan.

    Upon conducting a personal search, 11 grams of a heroin-like substance were recovered from their possession.

    A case has been registered under FIR No. 517/24 U/S 8/21/22/25/29 of NDPS Act at Rajouri Police Station and further investigation is ongoing.

    The Rajouri Police reaffirm their commitment to eradicating drug-related activities ,We urge the public to report any suspicious activities related to narcotics to their nearest police station.

    RAJOURI NOV 20:-A huge “Kalash yatra” was taken out with great enthusiasm and religious fervour at Roohi Morh, R.S Pura with full religious fervour. The yatra started from Indira Nagar, headed by His Holiness Atal Pethadeshwar Rajguru Acharya Mahamandaleshwar Shri Shri 1008 Shri Swami Vishwatamanand Saraswati ji Maharaj accompanied by scores of devotees hailing from different parts of JK UT. During the entire yatra route, devotees performed various dance with drum beats and chanted bhajans in favour of Lord Krishna with zeal and gaiety.

    The Yatra passed through various locations and covered areas like Indira Nagar Bridge, Soodan Heart Care, Police Naka, Balol Bridge, NIITS College and finally culminated at Roohi Morh where “Shrimad Bhagwat Tatva Gyan Yagya (Bhagwat Katha)” is being organised starting from 20th of November to 27th of November.The members of temple Committe Kotranka welcomed Swamiji and devotees by showering flowers.Later, parshad was distributed among the devotees.

    While speaking during the inaugural function, Swamiji briefed the gathering about the importance of Bhagwat Katha in everyone’s life and how one can take the path of self realization by reading and listening the religious discourses.Swamiji started the katha by saying that by listening the Bhagwat Katha, one can change his way of life to large extent.Swamiji further said that our expressions only give birth to falsehood and makes the world untrue ultimately.To carry forward the story, Swamiji said that God is in all, but he is also the most different, he is with us every moment.     RAJOURI NOV 20:-In a significant step towards promoting digital literacy and empowering the youth of Rajouri, the Indian Army, under the Ace of Spades Division, has inaugurated a state-of-the-art computer lab at Daksh Hostel, Dassal Gujran, Rajouri. The initiative, launched under Operation Sadbhavana, aims to provide local students with access to quality education and skill development opportunities.

    The newly established computer lab, equipped with five modern computers, will serve as a vital resource for the students of the region, bridging the digital divide and opening up new avenues for academic and professional growth. The facility is expected to play a crucial role in shaping the future of the youth, enabling them to acquire essential digital skills in today’s increasingly technology-driven world.

    This initiative is part of the Indian Army’s broader efforts to foster community development and contribute to nation-building in Jammu and Kashmir. In addition to the computer lab, the local garrison unit has also been involved in the establishment of a LED Factory project, where 75 individuals are being trained in the production of LED lighting. This training is expected to create sustainable job opportunities, further supporting the economic upliftment of the region.

    RAJOURI NOV 20:-Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University (BGSBU) successfully concluded a 100-hour intensive Data Analytics training program, organized by its Training and Placement Cell in collaboration with the ICT Academy and supported by Infosys India. The training aimed to enhance students’ employability by equipping them with advanced data analytics skills.

    The Vice Chancellor of BGSBU, Prof. Jawaid Iqbal, expressed his appreciation for the successful completion of the program. He emphasized that such initiatives bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and its practical application, which is essential for both research and industry needs.

    Registrar Mr. Shahbaz Ahmad Mirza and Dr. A.A. Shah, Associate Dean of the School of Engineering and Technology, also congratulated the organizers and reaffirmed their commitment to supporting similar skill development programs in the future.

    The program, coordinated by Dr. Malik Mubashir Hussain, Convener of the University Placement Committee, saw enthusiastic participation from B.Tech and MCA students. Mr. Adil Yousaf, a seasoned expert from ICT Academy, delivered insightful training sessions that blended theoretical concepts with hands-on practical applications.

    During the valedictory ceremony, Dr. Malik Mubashir Hussain highlighted the significance of such training programs in preparing students for the competitive job market.     During the event, Sabar Chowdhary highlighted several key public demands, including the rehabilitation and compensation for victims of the Mughal Road, the regularization of daily wagers across all government departments, and the enhancement of benefits for Anganwadi workers and helpers. Other issues raised included the regularization of Rehber-e-Sehats, Rehber-e-Zeraat, and Rehber-e-Khail workers, age relaxation for SI and Constable recruitment, and the establishment of model villages for Aitti and Gurrian. Additionally, the ongoing need for better road connectivity to Sain Qader Bakhash Maizar at Khundaphair was discussed.

    The Minister gave a patient hearing to the concerns raised, directing the concerned authorities to expedite action on these pressing matters.

    RAJOURI, NOV 20:-Minister for Jal Shakti, Forests and Tribal Affairs, Javed Ahmed Rana, today held a series of public darbars at Allal, Darhali Morh and Dak Bungalow Kotranka during his extensive tour of various far off areas of Rajouri.
    The Minister also paid obeisance at the revered Shahadara Sharif Shrine, interacted with devotees and enquired about facilities being provided to them there.

    During the public interaction at Allal village, Javed Rana directed the Irrigation Department to explore the feasibility of a lift irrigation scheme for the villages adjoining Allal. He announced that a water supply scheme for Thanamandi town has been approved under the AMRUT scheme, a significant step towards enhancing water availability in the region.

    At Darhali Morh, the Minister directed the Forest Department to prepare a Detailed Project Report (DPR) for establishment of an Eco Park at shrine Sain Qader Baksh. This initiative aims to promote environmental conservation while boosting pilgrimage tourism.

    In a grand public gathering at Kotranka Dak Bungalow, the Minister was apprised of various issues and concerns of the area by MLA Budhal, Javed Iqbal Choudhary, DDC member, Shazia Choudhary and other prominent personalities.

    The Minister assured that all grievances and demands would be addressed on priority.
    He emphasised the government’s commitment towards addressing unemployment, resolving developmental issues and regularising daily wagers.

    Javed Rana also highlighted the need for effective implementation of the Forest Rights Act in Jammu & Kashmir, assuring the public that no harassment would be tolerated. He added that approvals for road construction projects would be prioritized.

    The Minister issued several directives including preparation of a revised DPR for an irrigation scheme by the Irrigation Department, expeditious completion of ongoing schemes under Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) and ensuring coverage of left-out areas by the Jal Shakti Department.
    MLA Budhal, Javed Iqbal urged upon the Minister to resolve key issues, including land compensation and regularisation of daily wagers.

    The event witnessed active participation from locals, who expressed their gratitude for government’s developmental initiatives and raised their concerns.

    The Minister directed all the officers to redress public grievances on priority, reiterating government’s resolve to ensure equitable development across the Pir Panjal region.
