    RAJOURI NOV 17:- Iftkhar Ahmed, the newly elected Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) for Rajouri Assembly Constituency, was warmly welcomed by the residents of Dhangri panchayat in his first visit to the area. The reception not only highlighted the trust and faith the people have in his leadership but also underscored his growing influence within the region.

    During his visit, MLA Rajouri  Iftkhar Ahmed took time to listen to the concerns of the people, who raised various issues impacting their daily lives.     RAJOURI NOV 17:-The Indian Army  currently hosting a recruitment rally across the districts of Reasi, Udhampur, Doda, Kishtwar, and Ramban from November 11 to 20, 2024, aiming to enlist youth from the Jammu and Kashmir region. The rally, being held at Dugga, near Bhalra, has seen an overwhelming response, with over 12,000 eager candidates stepping forward to join the armed forces.

    These young men, driven by a sense of duty and patriotism, are competing for positions in various roles, including Soldier General Duty, Soldier Clerk, and Soldier Tradesmen. The recruitment drive is not just limited to the local districts but is open to candidates from across the entire Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.

    The rally, facilitated by the Indian Army in coordination with the civil administration of Jammu & Kashmir, is designed to provide an opportunity for local youth to serve their nation as “Sons of Soil.” The smooth execution of this event highlights the collaborative efforts between the Army and civil authorities to ensure its success.

    RAJOURI NOV 17:-A special medical camp was organized today in the border village of Kalsiyan, aimed at addressing the healthcare challenges faced by the local population. The initiative provided free medical consultations, essential medicines, and referrals for specialized treatments, with the goal of alleviating the financial burden on residents of border area villages along the Line of Control (LC).

    A team of Army doctors and nursing assistants conducted health checkups, benefiting approximately 71 individuals, including 37 males, 16 females, and 18 children from the villages under the Area of Responsibility (AOR) of Kalsiyan Battalion.

    Given the region’s limited access to basic healthcare services, the camp was widely appreciated by the local community. The medical team, which also provided critical health advice and necessary medicines, was hailed for its support. The Panchayat Head and local elders expressed their deep gratitude to the Army for this initiative, emphasizing that the villagers are eager for similar efforts in the future to address ongoing healthcare needs in the area.

    UDHAMPUR ,NOV 17: Deputy Chief Minister, Surinder Kumar Choudhary today conducted an extensive tour of remote areas of Panchari and Moungri in Udhampur District to assess the progress of developmental works and mega projects under Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) and Public Works Department.

    Deputy Chief Minister was accompanied by Chief Engineer PMGSY Rajan Mengi, Chief Engineer PWD Batote Ashok Khokhar, Chief Engineer Pir Panchal Anil Pandoi, Additional Deputy Commissioner Prem Singh, Executive Engineer PMGSY Udhampur Yash Paul, Xen PWD Udhampur Sarver Mehmood, Xen PMGSY Reasi Neeraj Vaid and other district officers.

    Upon reaching Udhampur the Deputy Chief Minister received a warm welcome by locals at supply morh, Mansar Kaith Gali, Moungri, Ladda and Udhampur Dak Bunglow.

    During the tour, Surinder Choudhary inspected Road Projects from Kaith Gali to Moungri, Moungri to Ladda and Kaith Gali to Panchari (PMGSY) road. Expressing dissatisfaction over the dilapidated condition of these roads, he directed the concerned departments to blacklist contractors failing to meet timelines or delivering substandard work.

    Deputy Chief Minister emphasized the need to expedite ongoing projects by deploying additional manpower and machinery and adopting double shifts where necessary. He stressed the importance of maintaining quality standards and completing all projects within stipulated timeframes to maximize their on-ground impact.“Roads and bridges are the backbone of any region’s development. Proper connectivity not only enhances the economy but also improves the overall quality of life,” he added.

    Surinder Choudhary interacted with locals, ex-PRI members and other delegations at Kaith Gali, Moungri and Dak Bungalow Udhampur. During these interactions, the public raised several demands and grievances, including staff shortages in PHC Moungri, Ensuring quality material in road construction, Inclusion of Moungri in the tourism map, Establishment of industries and factories, Construction and maintenance of roadside drains, Resolution of parking issues in Udhampur town, Expediting Salmay Bridge construction, Regularization of daily wagers, Formulating an inclusive industrial policy

    Dy CM assured the public that their genuine demands would be addressed on priority. On-spot directions were issued to concerned officers for the immediate redressal of grievances. He emphasized the importance of regular monitoring and inspections to ensure timely project completion and warned that delays due to negligence would not be tolerated.

    He added that the primary objective of this tour is to assess the progress of developmental works on the ground and listen to public grievances. He reiterated that the government is committed to reaching out to the people, addressing their issues and ensuring holistic development said the Deputy Chief Minister.

    At Dak Bunglow Deputy Chief Minister received warm reception by local residents of Udhampur Town besides District Administration and Police.

    SRINAGAR NOV 17:-Greater Shah-re-Khaas Leadership Chairman Faheem Reshi has expressed his support for the recent statement made by the Lieutenant Governor (LG) of Jammu and Kashmir, which confirmed that the Panchayat and Urban Local Body (ULB) elections will be held soon in the region. Reshi welcomed the move, saying that these elections are a crucial step toward strengthening local governance and empowering communities across Kashmir.

    In his remarks, Reshi also announced that his poltical group would field 20 candidates specifically in the downtown Shahr-e-khass area of Srinagar, a key region that has long been a political and cultural hub in the city. “We are committed to ensuring that the voices of the people in downtown are heard, and we are ready to present capable candidates who will work for the development and welfare of the local population,” Reshi stated.

    The announcement has sparked excitement in the area, with political observers noting that the upcoming elections could bring significant changes to the local political landscape. Reeshi emphasized that his party is focused on addressing the pressing issues faced by the residents, including infrastructure, healthcare, and employment.

    RAJOURI NOV 17:-In a major development a police team from Tofkhana Police Station in Ahilyanagar district of Maharashtra- reportedly on an intelligence inputs from Southern Command Military Intelligence-have arrested six residents of Rajouri district for using fake arms licences to secure security guard jobs.
    When contacted Tofkhana police confirmed the arrest of 9 residents of Rajouri district snd the official said; “Further investigation is in progress in this matter”.
    According to a press note issued by Topkhana Police station, all the nine accused persons are working as security guards in Ahilyanagar city and adjoining cities based on false documents.
    Tofkhana police said that the operation was conducted on November 15 followed by raids at multiple locations after intelligence inputs.
    Police apprehended all the nine suspects and preliminary investigation revealed that the arms licensees produced by the accused were forged.
    Acting swiftly, the police seized all the nine 12 bore rifles along with fake arms licenses and 58 live cartridges.
    “When Rajouri District Collector’s office in J&K was contacted, the officials confirmed that the seized licenses had not been issued by their office, confirming them fake” Tofkhana police said.
    Further investigation by the Tofkhana police in this matter revealed that one Sher Ahmed s/o Ghulam Hussain resident of Kalakote (presently r/o Pune) is the key facilitator of the racket.
    Sher Ahmed allegedly provided fake arms licenses and 12-bore rifles to others seeking employment as security guards, charging Rs 50000 per license and gun.
    Besides Sher Ahmed, other arrested persons have been identified as Shabbir(38 years) s/o Mohammad Iqbal Hussain Gujjar resident of Argi-Dalhori; Mohammad Saleem (32) @Salem s/o Gul Mohd r/o Lah-Thanamandi; Mohd Sarfraj (24) s/o Nazir Hussain r/o Kothiyan-Kalakote); Jehangir (28) s/o Zakir Hussain r/o Dhangri ; Shahbaz Ahmed (33) s/o Nazir Hussain r/o Kothiyan-Kalakote; Surjit s/o Ramesh Chander resident of Sialsui-Kalakote; Abdul Rashid (38) s/o Chidia resident of Kalakote; Tuffel s/o Mohd s/o Mohd Gazia resident of Moughla-Kalakote.
    Police added the detained persons had been working as security guards at various locations in Pune, Ahilyanagar, Chatrapati Sambhajinagar, Shrigonda, & Sonai.
    Despite knowing that the licenses were fake, they secured government employment using these forged documents and illegally possessed 12-bore guns, police added.
    A case under sections 120, 468, 471, 474, 34 IPC and 3/7/7/25 Armas Act (CR No.1248/2024) has been registered at Tofkhana police station in Ahilyanagar against the accused persons.
    Inspector Anand Kokre leading the investigation and the police are focusing on tracing the origins of fake licenses and identifying others involved in the racket.
    The action followed on the guidance of Army’s Southern Command Intelligence Unit and SSP, Rakesh Ola; additional SP, Prashant Khaire; SDPO, & Amol Bharti.
    It is pertinent to mention here that in 2017 Rajasthan’s Anti-Terrorism Squad had unearthed arms licenses racket in J&K and later CBI had registered a case against ex-Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, BSF Commandant and a gun dealer of Jammu for selling licenses to BSF jawans without completion of requisite formalities.
    In December 2023, CBI court had framed charges against two former Deputy Commissioners and others in this fake gun license scam.
