**Inspections conducted to strengthen anti-drug measures under Nasha Mukat J&K: D&FCO.

**Licenses of 3 pharmaceutical firms suspended,10 firms issued show cause notices: D&FCO

RAJOURI NOV 05:-With an aim to strengthen Anti-Drug measures under ‘Nasha Mukt J&K Campaign’, a team of Drug & Food Control Organisation (D&FCO) Jammu headed by Assistant Controller Drugs for Rajouri & Poonch on Tuesday (Nov 5) conducted surprise inspections of medical shops in Sunderbani & Nowshera subdivisions of Rajouri district.
Prompted by the latest Narcotics Coordination Committee (NCORD) meeting directives, presided over by DC Rajouri, Abhishek Sharma, the department has launched intensified inspection drives within the district.
These efforts reaffirm the administration’s dedication to public health and safety through stringent control over pharmaceutical transactions and practices.
To enhance supervisory measures, the official asked businessmen to install CCTV cameras within the trade fraternity. They are encouraged to place CCTV cameras at prominent locations on their premises and adopt a computerized billing system for record-keeping, aligning with government directives.
These checks aim to pinpoint and rectify any regulatory lapses within the local pharmaceutical sector.
Recent inspections have revealed multiple violations, including inadequate maintenance of computerized sales records-a critical requirement for ensuring transparency in drug distribution.
Due to these non-compliances, licenses for three pharmaceutical firms were promptly suspended, while over ten firms received show cause notices for failing to meet the mandated computerized billing standards.
“The intensified inspections underscore our unwavering commitment to combating drug abuse and safeguarding public health,” said Assistant Controller Drugs, Rajouri/Poonch.
“Maintaining regulatory compliance in the pharmaceutical sector is pivotal for building a drug-free Jammu & Kashmir” he added.
Through these active measures, the department is making progress toward reinforcing control over potentially misused drug formulations, contributing to the government’s vision of a healthier, drug-free society.
