    RAJOURI, OCT 31:-In observance of Vigilance Awareness Week, the District Administration of Rajouri organised an Online Vigilance Awareness Programme in the Conference Hall DC Office aimed to promote transparent governance and strengthen accountability among government officials.

    The programme was chaired by Additional Deputy Commissioner Rajiv Khajuria, who addressed the participants on the importance of integrity and transparency in their daily functions. ADC Khajuria encouraged officers to uphold ethical standards in their responsibilities, ensuring a transparent and efficient system for the public.

    The session was attended by officers and officials from the Revenue and Custodian Departments, who engaged actively in the discussions. The event included an interactive question-and-answer session, allowing participants to gain clarity on various vigilance-related procedures and policies.

    Additionally, members of civil society participated in the programme, reflecting the administration’s commitment to engaging the community in its efforts to create a corruption-free environment.

    The programme was part of a series of initiatives by the Rajouri administration to promote vigilance awareness and foster accountability across departments.

    RAJOURI, OCT 31:- Deputy Commissioner (DC) Rajouri Abhishek Sharma, in presence of Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Randeep Kumar, on Thursday chaired a meeting of senior functionaries across varied departments and stakeholders to discuss measures to enforce transparency and strengthen security at the construction sites of major infrastructure projects.

    The officials from the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) and district administration attended the meeting which focused on comprehensive security measures, particularly concerning the identification of laborers and enhanced surveillance at critical work locations across the district.

    In light of its current construction activities, DC Rajouri directed BRO officials to undertake a thorough identification of labor deployed across various work sites, specifically noting workers who may be residents from outside the state or country. The BRO was instructed to compile and submit a detailed report listing all personnel, ensuring accountability and compliance with regulatory standards.

    To bolster security around sensitive areas, such as tunnel and bridge construction sites, the BRO was asked to install closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras at the worksites and near the temporary accommodations housing the laborers. This measure aims to monitor and address any potential security challenges while supporting a safe work environment for all personnel.

    Moreover, DC Sharma and SSP Kumar emphasized the importance of rotating the guards assigned to laborer security as per a defined roster, to enhance vigilance and security protocol. The periodic rotation of security personnel is expected to improve oversight and prevent any lapses in the protection of those on-site.

    Present at the meeting were Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Rajouri, Rajiv Khajuria; Assistant Labour Commissioner (ALC), Pradyot Gupta; Tourist Officer, a representative of BRO, and other district officials.

    RAJOURI OCT 30:-In continuation to joint cordon & search operation (CASO) launched by the Army, CRPF & J&K Police on October 27 after a group of three suspects was8 spotted in Tandwal area situated in the vicinity of Rajouri town, SFs on Wednesday evening conducted searches in some other parts under Rajouri Municipal Council and adjoining areas.
    Meanwhile, Security Forces on October 28 busted a terroris hideout in a forest in Lah area in Thanamandi tehsil of Rajouri district and recovered edible items, including fresh ‘Chapatis’.
    The items recovered are fresh, sources said and added items include 10 Maggie packets, 8 biscuit packets, 3 chips packets, 3 salted peanut packs, 4 Chapatis, & medicines.
    Sources said the areas searched include Chabba, Manjidahara, Gurdhan, and Pirkanju after reports of suspicious movement.
    The entire area has been cordoned off to avoid any untoward incident keeping in view the Diwali festival.
    On October 27 at about 9 pm a group of three unidentified persons, wearing trousers and carrying bags on their backs reportedly knocked at the gate of a BJP leader and later entered the nearby dense forest.
    Immediately, a BJP leader brought the matter to the notice of Deputy SP (Ops), & SSP Rajouri and a team of Special Operation Group (SOG) reached the spot.
    Later, Army CRPF and J&K Police launched a search operation which is still in progress.
    Pertinently, areas searched today are situated in the vicinity of Tandwal-Dasal villages and in Gurdhan- Chawa area a very important Army camp is situated.
    The forest areas in Rajouri are densely forested that give cover to the terrorists to escape after brief contacts with Security Forces.

    RAJOURI OCT 30:-In a significant development Chief of the Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal Amar Preet Singh on Wednesday (October 30) visited Jammu and some of the forward locations to review the operational readiness at these locations.
    The Ministry of Defence said that on the eve of Diwali, Air Chief Marshal AP Singh, Chief of the Air Staff visited Jammu and some of the forward locations, where the air warriors of the Indian Air Force are deployed.
    “During the visit the CAS took a detailed overview of the operational readiness at these locations and interacted with the air warriors and Agniveers posted there,” said MoD.
    During the interaction, he emphasised on the importance of remaining vigilant and always prepared to safeguard national security concerns.
    He complimented the air warriors for their dedication and selfless duty at these forward locations.
    “The visit by the Chief of Air Staff during the festival season was a great reflection of the commitment towards welfare and motivation of the troops deployed on the frontiers,” said MoD.
