DC Rajouri constitutes teams for inspection of Pharmaceutical Shops: six establishments penalized for violation of norms

    GNS ONLINE NEWS PORTAL

RAJOURI, OCT 17:- In a move aimed at ensuring strict compliance with legal and regulatory frameworks governing the sale of pharmaceutical drugs, Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Abhishek Sharma, has constituted dedicated teams to conduct inspections of pharmaceutical shops across the district.

The inspections focused on verifying the implementation of computerized billing systems, the presence of CCTV cameras, and the maintenance of sale records for Schedule H1 and NRX drugs, as mandated by the Drugs and Cosmetics Act and other related regulations.

The initiative was launched in light of growing concerns regarding the potential misuse of restricted drugs and the need for enhanced monitoring and accountability in the pharmaceutical sector. The inspection teams, comprising officials from the district administration and the Health Department, were tasked with thoroughly examining the practices followed by pharmacies in maintaining accurate sales records for Schedule H1 and NRX drugs, which include habit-forming substances that require careful regulation.

During the inspections, a number of violations were identified, particularly related to the inadequate maintenance of sale records for Schedule H1 drugs. Several pharmaceutical shops were found to be noncompliant in keeping proper documentation, which is crucial for monitoring the sale and distribution of these sensitive drugs.

Furthermore, many establishments were detected with gaps in the implementation of the computerized billing system and non-functional CCTV cameras- both being necessary measures to prevent the unlawful sale of restricted drugs.

Six pharmaceutical firms were penalized for failing to adhere to the stipulated conditions of their licenses. The functioning of these establishments was suspended for a period of four days as a punitive measure.

In addition to the penalties, the district administration has issued advisory guidelines to all pharmaceutical shops, reiterating the importance of maintaining proper sale records, ensuring the functionality of CCTV cameras, and adopting computerized billing systems. These measures are expected to bolster the monitoring of pharmaceutical sales and reduce the potential for the misuse of restricted drugs in the district.

The inspections will continue in the coming weeks, with follow-up checks to ensure that the suspended firms have rectified the violations and that other shops are adhering to the regulations.

Shahr-e- Khass Traders and Chambers offer heartfelt congratulations to Mr Omar Abdullah

    GNS ONLINE NEWS PORTAL

SRINAGAR OCT 17:-The president Mr Bashir Ahmad Kanu along with core members of Shahr-e- Khass Traders and Chambers are highly pleased to offer  heartfelt congratulations to Mr Omar Abdullah on his appointment as the new Chief Minister of JKUT. We believe that his leadership and vision will greatly benefit the trading community in our region said and added.

In the past, there have been challenges and issues that have affected traders, with discussions taking place behind closed doors and agreements being made that did not always benefit the traders themselves. The package that was promised in 2015 never materialized for the traders, leaving many struggling to make ends meet.

With the hope and belief that our new CM will be a strong advocate for traders, we kindly request his support in various areas. One of the key issues facing traders is the burden of taxes imposed by the municipality, which have become a significant financial strain. We urge the new CM to consider waiving off these taxes to alleviate the financial burden on the trading community. Additionally, the high electricity bills in Shah Re Khass for traders have been a concern, and we ask for his assistance in getting these bills waived off as well.

Moreover, they strongly encourage the new CM to focus on the infrastructure of trade in Shah Re Khass, particularly in preserving and improving the historical landmarks such as the Badshah Tomb, Pathar Masjid, and Hariparbath. These cultural treasures not only hold historical significance but also have the potential to attract tourists, thereby boosting the local economy.

Furthermore, they appreciate the promise made by the new CM to create job opportunities, and  urge him to fulfill this commitment to provide maximum employment opportunities for the youth in the region. They are hopeful that Mr Omar Abdullah’s leadership will bring positive changes and prosperity to the trading community in Shahr-e- Khass.
