    RAJOURI, SEPT 19: In compliance with the directions of District Election Officer Abhishek Sharma and under the supervision of District Nodal Officer SVEEP, Bishamber Dass (CEO), a Mega Balloon Rally was organized here today. The event witnessed the enthusiastic participation of around 900 students and staff from eleven government and private schools of Rajouri Township.

    The rally was flagged off by the DNO SVEEP in the presence of Principal BMHSS, Rakesh Kumar Sharma, Principal GMHSS Gulzar Hussain, members of the District SVEEP team, and officials from YSS Rajouri.
    Students, holding tricolor Balloons and placards with slogans highlighting the importance of Voting Right, assembled on the Mini Sports Stadium. A collective voters’ pledge was taken to promote electoral participation. After the pledge, the rally proceeded through various streets and markets of Rajouri, chanting slogans about the right to vote and highlighting the importance of voting in a democracy.

    The primary objective of the rally was to raise awareness about the voting day scheduled on 25th September- the second phase of Jammu & Kashmir Legislative Assembly elections. The rally urged the public to cast their votes in large numbers to elect the candidate of their choice.

    The rally concluded at General Bus Stand, with staff from participating schools accompanying the students throughout the event.

    This event marked a significant effort by the District SVEEP Cell Rajouri to enhance voter awareness and participation in the democratic process.

    RAJOURI, SEPT 19: District Election Officer Rajouri, Abhishek Sharma today addressed the media to provide an update on the district’s preparedness for the upcoming Assembly Elections. He outlined key measures taken to ensure smooth conduct of the elections across the five Assembly constituencies, including three reserved for Scheduled Tribes (ST).

    DEO Sharma highlighted that a total of 745 polling stations have been established in the district. This is a notable increase from the 680 polling stations set up for the Lok Sabha elections. “With 65 new polling stations created over the past two months, all have been equipped with Assured Minimum Facilities (AMF)” he added.

    To ensure effective voter outreach, Booth Level Officers (BLOs) are conducting regular visits to respective panchayats, and sector officers are overseeing their jurisdictions. As of today, over 4,44,000 voter information slips have been successfully distributed.

    In a bid to encourage voter participation, Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) activities have been organized throughout the district. These activities have included a grand Mushaira, balloon rallies, and plantation drives. DEO Sharma also interacted with Electoral Literacy Clubs and first-time voters during field visits to further enhance voter education.

    A significant step toward inclusive voting was marked with the initiation of home voting today, enabling voters with specific needs to cast their votes from home.

    Polling parties have undergone comprehensive training, while 25 Model Polling Stations have been set up across the five Assembly constituencies to enhance the voting experience.

    Advertisements are being pre-certified, and the Media Certification and Monitoring Committee (MCMC) is vigilantly monitoring both print and electronic media. Flying Squads (FST) and Static Surveillance Teams (SST) are actively working across the district to enforce election guidelines.

    Special arrangements have been made for the 51 polling stations located near the Line of Control (LoC), with functional bunkers and alternative provisions in place in case of any cross-border shelling.

    SSP Rajouri, Randeep Kumar, also briefed the media on the robust security arrangements in place. Area domination exercises have been conducted, and inter-district and intra-district checkpoints (Nakas) have been established. Search operations are ongoing in forest areas, and additional security personnel have been deployed to maintain peace and ensure free and fair elections.

    SSP Kumar further stated that important contact numbers have been shared in the public domain for emergency situations, ensuring the public can quickly report any issues that may arise during the election period.

    RAJOURI SEPT 19:–Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari addressed a public rally in the remote township of Budhal, Rajouri district, Jammu and Kashmir, highlighting the government’s achievements in improving road connectivity and highways.

    Gadkari emphasized the manufacturing of ethanol and motor vehicle fuel from agricultural products, transforming the agriculture sector. He also outlined numerous initiatives taken by the government to enhance road connectivity in J&K.

    “The number of tunnels in J&K has increased four-fold compared to previous decades,” Gadkari announced, revealing plans for new projects to upgrade road connectivity and highway transformation.

    This rally marks a strategic move by the BJP to woo voters in the Budhal assembly constituency ahead of the elections.”

The party has fielded Iftikar Ahmed from Rajouri assembly constituency, now all that is needed is your support. On the day of election, go to your polling booth and vote in favour of the Congress candidate and make him win with a huge margin and send him to the assembly so that he can raise your voice in the assembly. He said that my father had a lot of love for the people of Rajouri Poonch, he used to visit Rajouri Poonch often and now I have come among you people, so leave no stone unturned to make our candidate win.

    RAJOURI SEPT 19:-Former Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti asserted that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) will play a vital role in forming the next Jammu and Kashmir government.

    Addressing party workers in Rajouri, Mufti highlighted the PDP’s development achievements in the region, including the Mughal Road and Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University.

    “We didn’t just build infrastructure, we empowered the people,” Mufti said.

    She emphasized that the PDP’s focus on development sets it apart from other parties.

    Mufti cautioned against supporting parties with a history of rigging elections, referring to the 1987 polls that preceded the rise of terrorism in J&K.”Congress and NC have a history of manipulation,” Mufti warned.

    PDP candidates are contesting all eight seats in Rajouri and Poonch, with significant public support.

    RAJOURI/DELHI SEPT 18:-Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Anil Chauhan has stated that India’s position is of a ‘Vishwa Mitra’ and a ‘Vishwa Bandhu’ in the global world order,” said Chief of Defence Staff, General Anil Chauhan.

    CDS, Gen Anil Chauhan was addressing a conclave for Foreign Service Attaches (FSAs) hosted by the Defence Intelligence Agency of Headquarters Integrated Defence Staff at New Delhi on Wednesday (September 18).
    The CDS articulated the importance of Military Diplomacy, wherein the FSAs have a pivotal role to play.

    “In the most violent decade since World War II, there is a growing propensity amongst nations to use force to contain conflicts. The growing uncertainty and insecurity are leading nations to renew their National Security Strategy and increase expenditure on Defence”, said CDS.

    CDS Gen Anil Chauhan said this while highlighting four distinct areas of India’s
    Defence viz operational preparedness, modernisation, transformation and indigenisation.

    He emphasised the significance of Data Centric Warfare and the role of Artificial Intelligence in revolutionising warfare.
    The CDS gave an insight into India’s Atmanirbharta for defence capability development and strategic autonomy.
    Director General Defence Intelligence Agency (DG DIA) Lt Gen D.S Rana apprised the FSAs that India’s Defence Diplomacy was expanding steadily in terms of the nature of activities as well as geographic coverage wherein security cooperation was a key component.

    He highlighted the vision of Atmanirbharta and indigenization in Defence and implored upon FSAs to gain first-hand experience in modernisation programmes.
    A holistic overview of India’s strategic perspective was given to the FSAs by Defence Subject Matter Experts.
    Lt Gen Raj Shukla (Retd) spoke on ‘India’s National Security: Challenges & Opportunities’; Vice Admiral Pradeep Chauhan (Retd) deliberated upon ‘Indo-Pacific Region Competition, Cooperation & Challenges’; and Lt Gen Rakesh Sharma (Retd) gave insights on ‘Grey Zone Warfare and Impact on Security Dynamics’.

    RAJOURI SEPT 18:-In a unique initiative aligning SVEEP’s mission of spreading voter awareness and promoting voter literacy, school administration of Government Higher Secondary School Seri in Nowshera subdivision of Rajouri district conducted elections for the positions of Head Boy and Head Girl.
    “The main objective of the election was to promote leadership qualities among students and raise awareness about the importance of voting and democratic participation, aligning with SVEEP’s mission to create informed young voters, ” said Principal, Harcharan Kour.
    The elections were conducted under the guidance of Principal and with dedicated assistance of Lecturer Kashturi Lal

    The election was conducted under the school’s house system, where candidates from different houses contested for the prestigious positions of Head Boy and Head Girl.
    The students actively participated in the election, casting their votes in a manner reflecting a real-life voting process.
    “This event provided the students with practical exposure to the functioning of democratic elections,” said Kashturi Lal.
    The entire staff of GHSS Seri Nowshera played an integral role in ensuring the smooth functioning of the electoral process.

    They enthusiastically participated and cooperated, ensuring fairness and transparency throughout.
    Their involvement reflected their commitment to fostering leadership skills and democratic values among the students.

    The election saw a strong turnout of students, who cast their votes with enthusiasm and seriousness. The process instilled in them a sense of responsibility and civic duty.
