==Nowshera constituency is safe for Ravinder Raina.

RAJOURI SEPT 01 :–People of Rajouri district eagerly await the announcement of candidates for Rajouri & Nowshera Assembly Constituencies by BJP.
Ravinder Raina, State BJP President and former MLA Nowshera, is the potential candidate but as far as Rajouri is concerned the name of three strong candidates are under consideration and BJP leadership is likely to announce the name on Monday.
Among them are Dinesh Sharma, District President; State General Secretary and ex-MLC, Vibodh Gupta, and Ch. Talib Hussain, two-time former MLA & former MP.
Ch Talib Hussain has a wide political career and remained Cabinet Minister in J&K Assembly and MP in 13 Lok Sabha in 2002 and has a backing of his large community.
Vibodh Gupta is State BJP General Secretary for the last about 5 years and has backing of RSS.
Dinesh Sharma is also have backing of his large community. Before being elected BJP district president, Dinesh was President of Rajouri Sanatan Dharam Sabha. Soft spoken Dinesh claims to be potential candidate from Rajouri constituency.
As Vibodh has RSS backing, BJP likely to announce his candidature. But BJP also having apprehension of backlash in case names of Dinesh & Ch.Talib were dropped.
Sources said Ch Talib has already announced to contest as an Independent candidate from Rajouri & that would be setback for BJP.
Though Dinesh has not yet opened his cards but said he is watching the developments closely.
Sources said Congress has yet not announced his candidate for Rajouri & may approach Dinesh Dharma if he was denied a BJP ticket.
It is pertinent to mention here that in 2014 Assembly Elections Ch. Talib Hussain was the BJP candidate and lost to PDP candidate Ch Qamar Hussain with a small margin of 2490 votes.
If Vibodh Gupta gets a BJP ticket for Rajouri constituency, the BJP will face a tough time in winning the seat.
On the other hand, Nowshera constituency is likely to see direct fight between two rival candidates State BJP President Ravinder Raina and National Conference (Congress-NC alliance) Surinder Choudhary.
In 2014 Ravinder Raina defeated Surinder Choudhary when he was the PDP candidate.
As BJP didn’t file a candidate for recently held elections for Anantnag-Rajouri Lok Sabha seat, BJP voters were left in a state of uncertainty and many among them were against the BJP decision.
Now, for the Assembly Elections, Ravinder Raina has to work hard to re-establish faith in the mind of BJP supporters.
Ravinder Raina during his tenure has established himself as an accepted leader across all sections of the society and enjoy support from every section of the society.
Surinder Choudhary is likely to face tough time from BJP due to NC’s controversial
Manifesto related to Hari Parbat Fort & Shankaracharya Hillocks.

RAJOURI SEPTEMBER 01:–As a part of efforts to further fine tune the arrangements for assembly elections, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Rajouri, Randeep Kumar chaired a meeting with officers of newly inducted Companies of Central Armed Paramilitary Forces (CAPFs) in the district.

The meeting was convened at police lines Rajouri with officers of all the inducted Companies and police officers from the district were present.

The meeting began with welcome address given by the chairing officer, SSP Rajouri to all officers of inducted coys of CAPF.

The welcome address was followed by detailed briefing throwing deep insights into the existing challenges having law and order connotations and counter terrorism efforts.

Threadbare discussion was held on range of issues that primarily include security arrangements for conducting assembly elections peacefully throughout the district.

They were asked to maintain highest mode of alertness in view of security situation besides necessary preparations for smooth conduct of elections.

The provision of necessary arrangements and basics in logistics centers of inducted Companies were also reviewed.
