    RAJOURI AUGUST 29:–Ahead of Assembly Elections to be held in the second phase on September 25, Northern Army Commander, Lieutenant General M V Suchindra Kumar on Wednesday & Thursday reviewed the operational readiness of troops along the LoC and in hinterland (under CIF Romeo) in Rajouri district.

    These visits are part of preparations for the upcoming Assembly Elections in border districts of Rajouri & Poonch.
    The Commander emphasized maintaining high morale and professionalism.
    Accompanied by the White Knight Corps Commander, Lt Gen M V Suchindra Kumar toured the Sunderbani Sector, where he evaluated the synergy between security forces and their operational preparedness.
    The Northern Army Commander visited the troops along the Line of Control (LoC) and hinterland in the Sunderbani sector and asked them to maintain comprehensive operational readiness.
    “Lt Gen MV Suchindra Kumar, Army Commander Northern Command accompanied by White Knight Corps Commander visited forward areas along the LoC in Sunderbani sector to review the prevalent security situation. He was briefed on the synergy between security forces and operational preparedness in the region” read Northern Command post on X social media platform.

    RAJOURI/DELHI AUG 29:–India on Thursday (August 29) commissioned into the Indian Navy its second Arihant-Class nuclear-powered ballistic missile submarine ‘INS Arighaat’ in Visakhapatnam in the presence of Defence Minister, Rajnath Singh.
    Arighaat is a Sanskrit word meaning the ‘Destroyer of the Enemy’.
    Addressing the august gathering, Defence Minister said: “Arighaat will further strengthen India’s nuclear triad, enhance nuclear deterrence, help in establishing strategic balance & peace in the region, and play a decisive role in the security of the country,”.
    “It is an achievement for the nation and a testament to Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led Government’s boo unwavering resolve to achieve ‘Aatmanirbharta’ in defence,” he said.
    Rajnath Singh commended the Indian Navy, DRDO & the Industry for their hard work and synergy in achieving this capability. He termed this self-reliance as the foundation of self-power.
    He acknowledged the fact that the country’s industrial sector, especially MSMEs, has received a huge boost through this project, and more employment opportunities have been created.
    Recalling former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s political will which put India at par with a nuclear weapon state, Rajnath Singh said: “Today, India is surging ahead to become a developed country.
    “It is essential for us to develop rapidly in every field, including defence, especially in today’s geopolitical scenario. Along with economic prosperity, we need a strong military,” said the Defence Minister.
    “Our government is working on mission mode to ensure that our soldiers possess top-quality weapons and platforms made on Indian soil,” he added.
    “The construction of INS Arighaat involved the use of advanced design and manufacturing technology, detailed research & development, utilisation of special materials, complex engineering and highly skilled workmanship,” said MoD.
    It has the distinction of having the indigenous systems and equipment which were conceptualised, designed, manufactured & integrated by the Indian scientists, industry and Naval personnel.
    The technological advancements undertaken indigenously on this submarine make it significantly more advanced than its predecessor Arihant.
    “The presence of both INS Arihant and INS Arighaat will enhance India’s capability to deter potential adversaries and safeguard its national interests,” said MoD.
    INS Arihant was commissioned in 2016.
    “The second Arihant-Class submarine ‘INS Arighaat’ was commissioned into the Indian Navy on August 29, 2024, at Visakhapatnam in the presence of Raksha Mantri Shri Rajnath Singh,” said the Ministry of Defence.

    RAJOURI AUGUST 28:–Indian Army on Wednesday evening (August 28) foiled Pakistani sponsored terrorists’ attempt to disrupt upcoming Assembly Elections in Poonch district and recovered 6 Chinese live grenades from Surankot subdivision of the district.
    Officials said that the hideout was unearthed by the Army and J&K in a joint anti-terror operation launched in the afternoon on Wednesday in Sheendara general area under the jurisdiction of Surankot police station.
    During intensive search, the troops found the grenades hidden under bushes in Dachhi forest reportedly by Over Ground Workers for further supply to terrorists operating in the area.
    The search operation was continued in the entire forest for any possible presence of another consignment.
    The recovery of hand grenades indicates either possible fresh infiltration or by drone-dropping. Security Forces & Police started investigations from every angle.
    It is pertinent to mention here that besides Army, J&K police, adequate strength of Central Armed Paramilitary Forces (CAPFs) have been deployed in both the border districts of Rajouri & Poonch for peaceful and smooth conduct of Assembly Elections.

    RAJOURI AUGUST 28:–Ahead of upcoming Assembly Elections, the Northern Army Commander Lieutenant General M V Suchindra Kumar on Wednesday (August 28) visited troops in the hinterland under the area of operation of Counter Insurgency Force (CIF) Romeo.
    Accompanied by GOC, Romeo Force, Lieutenant General M V Suchindra Kumar reviewed the operational preparedness and security situation in the region.
    The Army Commander was briefed on the operational preparedness & security situation in wake of the upcoming Assembly Elections in border districts of Rajouri and Poonch.
    “Lt General M V Suchindra Kumar, Army Commander Northern Command along with GOC CIF Romeo visited troops in the hinterland and was briefed on the operational preparedness and security situation in the region,” read Northern Command post on X on Wednesday.
