    RAJOURI AUGUST 27:–BJP, National Conference (NC), as well as Congress facing tough times in Rajouri district from grass root level leaders, workers over few candidates announced by these parties for J&K Assembly elections.
    BJP, a day after cancellation of first list of candidates due to protests by the leaders/workers, released the same list, including for Rajouri district, barring one.
    However, BJP didn’t announce the names for two important Assembly Constituencies namely Rajouri and Nowshera.
    State President BJP, Ravinder Raina (ex-MLA Nowshera) is likely to contest from this seat but sources said NC-Congress coalition candidate Surinder Chowdary’s popularity forcing BJP to shift him to another safe seat.
    As far as Rajouri seat is concerned, Dinesh Sharma, District President and ex-minister and prominent Gujjar leader Ch Talib Hussain’s names were in the forefront.
    But ex-MLC and State General Secretary, Vibodh Gupta wanted to contest this seat and is camping in Delhi to get the ticket.
    The supporters of present DDC Chairman Rajouri, Adv Naseem Liaqat & Muzaffar Iqbal Khan held a protest against Farooq & Umar Abdullah.
    Son of the NC’s former MLA of Rajouri advocate Mohammad Aslam Khan, ex-Judge Muzaffar Iqbal Khan resigned as a Sub Judge in 2018 & joined the NC.
    He was expected to be the NC’s candidate from Rajouri in the Assembly elections. However, after the recent delimitation, he is most likely to be the NC’s candidate from the newly created Assembly constituency of Thanamandi in the upcoming Assembly elections.
    Supporters of Muzaffar Iqbal Khan and those who resigned from NC today held a meeting at Thanamandi.
    Another meeting will be held on Wednesday at Rajouri where it will be decided whether Muzzafar Khan will contest as an independent from Thanamandi or will join another political party.
    Similar resentment was expressed against Congress high command by prominent Congress leaders, workers in a meeting held here in Nowshera on Wednesday.
    These leaders castigate Congress high command for surrendering the seat to NC.
    “The party represented this seat in the Assembly 8 times by late Master Beli Ram (6 times), his son Ramesh Sharma and grandson Rajinder Parshad one time each. This is a black day for us,
    They have appealed to the high command to reconsider its decision.

    RAJOURI AUGUST 27:–On the directions of DEO Rajouri, Abhishek Sharma, a Mega SVEEP (Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation) Awareness Program was successfully organized at the Municipal Committee Thannamandi.

    The event was held under the able guidance of Dr. Ather Aziz Raina, Nodal Officer SVEEP AC 87-Thannamandi, and as per the directives of District Nodal Officer Shri Bishamber Dass.

    The program commenced with the inauguration of the Democracy Wall, followed by a signature campaign and detailed awareness lectures aimed at fostering voter education and encouraging electoral participation.

    SDM Thannamandi, Abid Hussain Shah, and Dr. Ather Aziz Raina delivered insightful lectures, emphasizing the significance of voter participation in the democratic process. Dr. Raina also lauded the efforts of EO Municipal Committee Shri Yousif Ul Umar and Mr. Tariq Mehmood, IC Sanitary Inspector, for their pivotal roles in organizing the event.

    The event witnessed the participation of several dignitaries, including Tehsildar Thannamandi, Zonal Physical Officer, Principal of Boys Higher Secondary School, Manager of J&K Bank, JEEs and AEEs of the PWD (R&B) Department Thannamandi, along with local residents and employees of the Municipal Committee Thannamandi.

    Mr. Jhanghir Alam Khan, a member of SVEEP Thannamandi, conducted the event, while Mr. Suhail Malik, another member of SVEEP Thannamandi, extended the vote of thanks.

    The program marked a significant step towards enhancing electoral awareness in the region, ensuring that every citizen exercises their right to vote in the upcoming elections.

    RAJOURI AUGUST 27:–PAGAL KI DIARY ‘ or ‘DIARY OF MADMAN’ is about a man who goes mad and believes his fellow towns- people and his brother are cannibals who want to eat him. A narrator shares the madman’s diary entries ,in which the madman reveals his paranoia that everyone wants to eat him and that he, himself is probably a cannibal. Cannibalism in ‘The Diary of Madman ‘represents Confucian traditionalism in the 1900s in China. The culture was conservative to the point of violence & Lu Xun used Cannibalism as a dark & satirical way of criticizing the government and society . He wanted society to adopt Western values , which focussed on individualism & free thought. Amit Singh Barwal proved his acting mettle by spellbound performance in this solo play. The audience was thrilled to watch the play. The writer of the play is the famous Chinese playwright Lu Xun.The play was directed by the Founder of Rangmanch Theatre group & noted Theatre director, actor & playwright of Pir Panjaal Vishal Pahari. Music & set designing was done by Vikrant Verma, Costumes were managed by Shivani & Riya. Ashfaq & Rumani managed the lights . Principal of Himalayan College of Education Dr Abdul Mahbood was the chief guest.

    RAJOURI AUGUST 27:–In line with the directives issued by the District Election Officer and Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Abhishek Sharma, an extensive training session was successfully conducted today at Government Degree College (GDC) Thannamandi, focusing on preparations for the upcoming Assembly Elections.

    The training program was presided over by Sh. Abid Hussain, Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Thannamandi, and facilitated by Dr. Naseem Ahmed, Associate Professor and Nodal Officer for Election Training. The session aimed to equip employees from various departments with essential knowledge and operational skills necessary for effective election management. To ensure comprehensive coverage, training sessions were held both in the morning and evening, accommodating the schedules of all participants.

    A significant portion of the training was dedicated to the operation and management of the Elector Verification Program (EVP) and Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT) machines. Employees were guided through detailed demonstrations and hands-on practice sessions, enabling them to gain confidence in handling these machines under various scenarios. Additionally, Sh. Abid Hussain, SDM Thannamandi, interacted with the employees, providing briefings on the election process and the importance of their roles.

    The training also covered a wide range of critical topics, emphasizing the adherence to guidelines and protocols essential for maintaining the integrity and transparency of the election process. This focus is vital in upholding public trust in the democratic system.

    The training team, comprising Altaf Javaid (Senior Lecturer), Azhat Khawaja (Senior Lecturer), Wajahat Hussain (Master), Yasser Bashir (Teacher), Javaid Iqbal (Teacher), Firdous Waheed (Teacher), and Sahil Raina (Physical Education Teacher), ensured that the employees received comprehensive and practical instruction throughout the sessions.

    RAJOURI, AUGUST 27:-District Election Officer (DEO) Rajouri, Abhishek Sharma and Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Randeep Kumar carried out a comprehensive inspection of the Control Room and the Media Certification and Monitoring Committee (MCMC) setup in Rajouri today. They also visited Kalakote to review the preparedness of polling stations and the strong room facilities.

    During the inspection, the DEO and SSP emphasized the need for stringent monitoring of E-Vigil, webcasting services, and the dedicated election helpline at the Control Room and MCMC. DEO Abhishek Sharma directed the officials stationed to keep a close watch on social media platforms and thoroughly scrutinize print and electronic media to identify any instances of violations of the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) paid media and advertisements.

    Later, the DEO and SSP visited Kalakote, where they inspected polling stations at GMS Balli Bhavan and GHSS Sailsui. DEO Sharma instructed the officials to ensure the proper management of these stations and to enhance public awareness, especially among migrating voters. He emphasized the importance of conveying information to these voters to ensure their participation.

    The DEO also inspected the strong rooms established at GHSS Sailsui and GHSS Kalakote, where he issued directives for a comprehensive security and strict compliance to SOPs.

    DEO Abhishek Sharma underscored the importance of coordination among all officials to ensure free and fair elections in the region. He was accompanied by ADC Kalakote Tanveer Ahmed, Tehsildar, Executive Engineer, Deputy Superintendent of Police, and other district and sectoral officers during the inspections.

    RAJOURI, AUGUST 27:— A significant training session for Anganwadi workers under the Poshan Bhi Padhai Bhi scheme was recently held at the CDPO office in Manjakote. The event aimed to enhance the skills and knowledge of the Anganwadi workers in delivering better nutrition and educational services to children.

    Master Trainer Israr Bukhari JKAS led the training, offering valuable insights and practical guidance to the participants. The session was inaugurated by the District Programme Officer for Poshan Rajouri, who delivered an inspiring welcome message and introductory remarks. The officer emphasized the importance of the Poshan Bhi Padhai Bhi initiative in improving the well-being of children and supporting the overall development of the community.

    In addition to the training, DPO Kohli briefed the participants about the Systematic Voter Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) program. This initiative aims to increase voter awareness and participation in the electoral process, reinforcing the broader goals of civic engagement and democratic participation.

    The training saw the enthusiastic participation of all Anganwadi workers from the Manjakote Project. This collective effort highlights the commitment of local authorities and workers to enhancing child nutrition and educational outcomes.     RAJOURI AUGUST 27:–Muzaffar Khan, son of senior NC leader and former Rajouri MLA M Aslam Khan, who resigned from the job of a judge and joined NC, worked day and night to strengthen NC. Now NC did not give him a ticket, after which he left NC and announced to contest from ThannaMandi assembly constituency as an independent candidate. Now he will face the joint candidate of NC Congress from this seat. Congress district president Shabbir Ahmed Khan will be in the electoral fray from this seat.

    In January 2019, Muzaffar Khan was told by NC leaders that elections are to be held in May, you should resign from your post and prepare for the elections, we are declaring you as our candidate. At the same time, Muzaffar Khan resigned from the job of a judge and started strengthening NC, but the elections did not take place. In the Lok Sabha elections, Mr Khan worked day and night and also got a lot of votes for NC from their area. Now when NC and Congress formed an alliance, Thanna Mandi seat came in Congress’s account. After which Muzaffar Khan held a meeting with his supporters and decide to contest as independent candidates. According to Muzaffar Khan that NC has cheated him he was happy with his job, but I was forcibly made to join NC and was promised a ticket and when the time for ticket came, my seat was handed over to Congress he added.

    RAJOURI AUGUST 27:–Jammu and Kashmir police in Rajouri district has welcomed the Central Armed Paramilitary Forces (CAPFs) that have arrived in the district for performing election duty in upcoming assembly elections.

    A team headed by Deputy SP Headquarter Satish Kumar, Deputy SP DAR Akshay Khajuria, SHO Rajouri Abid Bukhari, Inspector Aejaz Ahmed Wani visited the locations where these companies have been stationed.

    The CAPF personnel were welcomed by police personnel and were assured all necessary arrangements and facilities.

    RAJOURI AUGUST 26:--The District SVEEP Cell Rajouri, in collaboration with the Sports Association Rajouri, organized the inaugural edition of the Peer Panjal Super League today, here under the supervision of District Election Officer, Abhishek Sharma and SVEEP Nodal Officer, Bishamber Dass.
    “The event is named as ‘Chunav Ka Parv, Desh Ka Garv,’ with an aim to promote electoral literacy among the youth through the popular sport of cricket, said organisers.
    The tournament was inaugurated by District Nodal Officer SVEEP, Bishamber Dass in the presence of Manager Sports Council Rajouri, Bashir Ahmed Bakshi; Chairman Sports Association Rajouri, Shafqat Mir; & members Bilal Khan and Yasir Malik and the District SVEEP Team Rajouri.
    Bishamber Dass emphasized the importance of informed and responsible voting & encouraged participants to spread the message of electoral literacy within their communities and motivate others to exercise their democratic rights.
    “Twenty teams from across the district, providing a platform for young people to showcase their cricketing skills while learning about the electoral process,” said organisers.
    “The tournament not only promotes the sport of cricket but also serves as an excellent opportunity to engage with the youth and raise awareness about electoral literacy,” said Mohammad Ayaz Raina.
    He led a voting pledge, which was enthusiastically responded to by all players and the audience, reinforcing the community’s commitment to active participation in the electoral process.
    In the inaugural match Amir Eleven Darhal beat Danyal Super Kings by 3 wickets-And Azar Malik being named Man of the Match.
    The initiative received widespread appreciation from participants and residents, who commended the District SVEEP Team and the Organizing Team of Sports Association Rajouri for their innovative approach to voter education.
