    Underground hideout of terrorists unearthed during operation in Sagrawat, Rajouri

    RAJOURI AUGUST 20:–Security forces on Tuesday evening unearthed an underground hideout of terrorists established in dense forests of Sagrawat village in Darhal police station area of Rajouri district.

    Based on a specific information, a team of Police from Darhal police station, SoG, Army’s Rashtriya Rifles and CRPF launched a joint Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) in areas of Sagrawat forest in Darhal, Rajouri.

    During this operation, the security forces succeeded to zero-in over a hideout that was of underground nature and established within dense forest cover.

    The hideout established underground was covered with soil from above to hide it.

    During search inside it, forces recovered estables and other items that include four LPG cylinders, six empty AK rifle magazines, one pistol magazine with thirteen bullets, one Insas rifle magazine with nineteen bullets, one communication set, one solar light with plate, one pair of hand gloves, wheat flour, refined wheat flour, dry fruits, some eatables, five litres capacity cooker, two litres capacity cooker, one utensils (kadai), thirty pencil cells, two blankets, three bags, one pheran, one water can of 40 litres capacity, three power banks, one data cable, one adaptor, one shoe pair, one wire cutter, one screw driver, one tiffin, one body warmer garmet set, six hand grips, two torches, one pack of washing powder, one pack of Daliya, some milk powder packets and some other eatables

    Jammu and Kashmir police said that searches in the area are going on and it seem that terrorists were using this hideout to hide themselves but their plot has been foiled by unearthing of this hideout.

    RAJOURI AUGUST 20:–Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Abhishek Sharma, recently conducted a thorough inspection of the Thanna Mandi road, where he directed the BRO/GREF department to expedite the necessary repairs and ensure the road made motorable without any further delay.

    This proactive move has been widely appreciated by the local and Civil Society of Thanna Mandi, led by Ab Ghani Shawl, Shamim Mughal, Haji Maqbool Raina, and others.

    The local community has been facing numerous challenges due to the poor condition of road, and the DC’s prompt efforts to address these issues have been praised by all. During his visit, the DC was accompanied by a team of senior officials, including the SDM Thanna Mandi, AC Defence, DIO Rajouri, Executive Engineer Thanna Mandi, Tehsildar Thanna Mandi, and BRO Commander.The team conducted a comprehensive inspection of the road and identified areas requiring immediate attention.The team also visited the Degree College and Raina Mohalla Bypass road to discuss further infrastructure improvements and resolve public grievances.

    The DC’s commitment to addressing the concerns of the local community has been evident throughout his tenure, and this latest initiative has reinforced his dedication to ensuring the well-being and convenience of the public.

    SRINAGAR AUGUST 20:– Senior political leader and former minister Adv Abdul Haq Khan has rejoined the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) on Tuesday.
    The rejoining ceremony took place in the presence of PDP President Mehbooba Mufti and Senior Vice President Ab Hamid Chaudhary, who welcomed Khan back into the party fold.
    Adv Ab Haq Khan, who previously served as a minister during the PDP-BJP coalition government in Jammu and Kashmir, had distanced himself from active politics for a while.
    His return to the PDP is seen as a boost to the party, which has been navigating through challenging political dynamics in the region.

    NEW DELHI AUGUST 20:- The Supreme Court expressed concern on Tuesday over the lack of workplace safety in healthcare institutions and said the country cannot wait for a rape or killing for real changes to take place on the ground.
    The apex court was hearing a suo-motu case related to the alleged rape and killing of a postgraduate medic at the RG Kar Medical College and Hospital in Kolkata.
    A three-judge bench headed by Chief Justice D Y Chandrachud said nationwide protests following the brutal incident have brought the issue of lack of institutional safety for doctors to the forefront.
    Medical associations have consistently raised the issue, the court observed while pointing out that medical professionals in the performance of their duties have been unfortunate targets of various forms of violence.
