    RAJOURI AUGUST 12:–A wave of patriotism swept through Rajouri district today as a vibrant Tricolor rally was organized from Dak Bungalow to Sports Stadium. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from the local police, administration, and the 72nd Battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF).

    In line with the directives of Jitendra Singh Yadav, Commandant of the 72nd Battalion, CRPF personnel actively contributed to the rally. Led by Vivek Saxena, Second in Command, CRPF soldiers displayed their fervor by adorning their vehicles with the national flag and raising patriotic slogans.

    The rally traversed the main roads of the city, drawing massive crowds, including thousands of school children, women, and citizens. The CRPF contingent, with its unwavering spirit, became the star attraction of the event.

    Speaking to the media, Vivek Saxena emphasized the significance of such rallies in preserving heritage and promoting the spirit of ‘Har Ghar Tiranga,’ as envisioned by the Prime Minister. He reaffirmed the 72nd Battalion’s commitment to safeguarding peace and security in Rajouri.

    Deputy Commandant Kapil Dev and Assistant Commandant Amit Kumar Yadav also shared their thoughts on the importance of the Tricolor rally.

    The event concluded with a strong display of unity and patriotism, as officers, subordinate officers, and soldiers of the 72nd Battalion joined the local police and administration in celebrating the national flag.

    RAJOURI AUGUST 12:— In a remarkable demonstration of democratic principles and mutual consensus, the teaching staff of Government Degree College Rajouri has successfully elected their representatives for the ongoing session. This significant event highlights the institution’s dedication In fostering a collaborative and inclusive academic environment.

    The election process, conducted with utmost transparency and fairness, which has led to the following appointments: Dr. Ahsan Ul Rehman Rizvi from Department of Arabic has been unanimously appointed as the Chairman of the Association for the entire session. Dr. Rizvi’s overall leadership and vision is anticipated to guide the committee towards achieving its desired goals effectively. Prof. Khaleeq Ahmed, Head of the Department of Sociology, has been unanimously elected as the Staff Secretary. His extensive experience and unwavering commitment to the institution make him an exemplary choice for this pivotal role. On the occasion Prof. Khaleeq articulated his vision for the college, emphasizing the importance of both rights and duties, and pledged to work tirelessly for the betterment of the students and the institution. He expressed his determination to contribute to the college’s journey towards excellence and become the strength of the Principal
    Dr. Khalid Rayaz has been appointed as the Joint Secretary. His dedication to academic excellence and his proactive approach is expected to greatly benefit the teaching community. While extending gratitude to the Staff, he assured the staff to work hard to maintain the exiting prestige of the Institution and to ensure transparency, integrity, and dedication.

    Moreover It was also decided that Prof. Khaleeq Ahmed and Dr. Khalid Rayaz shall work as Secretaries for six months each.
    After the declaration of result, a presidium was formed where Prof. Murtaza Ahmed HOD Political Science was nominated as Media Secretary while Prof Muhammad Shoket,HOD Education was appointed as Treasurer. Mr. Waqar Ahmed Gorsi, Chief Librarian is nominated as Secretary Hospitality and Protocol.

    The election for the Teachers’ Association was meticulously supervised by the Election Commission, ensuring a fair and democratic process. The commission was led by Prof. Shoket Hussain Head Department of Chemistry, serving as the Chief Election Commissioner. He was ably assisted by Prof. Mohammad Iqbal Raina and Dr. Riaz Ahmed Mirza, who served as Election Commissioners.

    These appointments reflect the collective trust and confidence that the teaching staff places in their newly elected representatives. The institution eagerly anticipates a productive and harmonious session under their leadership.

    RAJOURI AUGUST 12:–Rangmanch Theatre group Rajouri staged new full length solo play PAAGAL KI DIARY at Tariq College of Education Dassal Rajouri today.

    PAGAL KI DIARY ‘ or ‘DIARY OF MADMAN‘ is about a man who goes mad and believes his fellow towns- people and his brother are cannibals who want to eat him.

    A narrator shares the madman’s diary entries ,in which the madman reveals his paranoia that everyone wants to eat him and that he, himself is probably a cannibal.

    Cannibalism in ‘The Diary of Madman ‘represents Confucian traditionalism in the 1900s in China. The culture was conservative to the point of violence & Lu Xun used Cannibalism as a dark & satirical way of criticizing the government and society . He wanted society to adopt Western values , which focussed on individualism & free thought.

    Amit Singh Barwal proved his acting mettle by spellbound performance in this solo play. The audience was thrilled to watch the play. The writer of the play is the famous Chinese playwright Lu Xun.The play was directed by the Founder of Rangmanch Theatre group & noted Theatre director, actor & playwright of Pir Panjaal Vishal Pahari. Music & set designing was done by Vikrant Verma, Costumes were managed by Shivani & Riya. Ashfaq & Rumani managed the lights while backstage management was handled by Ashok Sharma. Principal of Tariq College of Education & an eminent Punjabi theatre actor Dr Amandeep Anand was the chief guest.

The event was orchestrated by the esteemed officials of the Sports Council Poonch, with Mr. Nirdosh Kumar, Manager of Sports Stadium Poonch, and Mr. Mushtaq Ahmed, Indoor Manager, leading the charge.

    Under the resolute direction of the esteemed Madam Nusrat Gul, the JK Secretary of the Sports Council, along with the guidance of jnb Choudhary Hanif, the Cheif Sports Officer of J&K, and S. Baljinder Pal Singh, the Divisional Sports Officer, the Tiranga Rally aimed to encapsulate the true essence of patriotism and communal harmony.

    The vibrant hues of the tricolour flag fluttered in the gentle breeze as participants, bedecked in patriotic regalia, marched with unwavering pride and fervour. The rhythmic beats of patriotic anthems reverberated through the stadium, instilling a sense of nationalistic zeal in all those present.

    The rally served as a poignant reminder of the sacrifices made by our forefathers to ensure the freedom and sovereignty of our nation. Participants, young and old, stood shoulder to shoulder, united in their love for the motherland, transcending barriers of caste, creed, and religion.

    As the Tiranga Rally wound its way through the streets of Poonch, onlookers were moved by the spectacle unfolding before their eyes.     JAMMU AUGUST 12:–In a heartfelt tribute to the environment and the selfless sacrifices of our martyrs, the NCC cadets of 2 J&K Girls Battalion and NSS volunteers from Unit-I of Padma Shri Padma Sachdev Government College for Women, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu, undertook a massive plantation drive and planted near about 100 saplings of fruit trees , shade trees and Bamboo. This noble initiative was organized in collaboration with the Department of Ecology, Environment, and Remote Sensing under the inspiring banners of “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam # Plant for Mother” and “Ek Ped Shaheedon Ke Naam.” The event was meticulously planned to coincide with the observance of Swachhta Pakhwada, a nationwide campaign dedicated to promoting cleanliness and environmental sustainability.

    Dr. S.P. Sarswat, the Principal of the college, who is committed to environmental stewardship continues to set an example for both staff and students alike. Prof. Sugandha Mahajan, the NSS PO of Unit 1, Lt. Suman Bala, the Associate NCC Officer of 2 J&K Girls Battalion and Ms. Kajal Premi, physical director of the College , led the spirited students and NCC cadets with vigor and enthusiasm, inspiring them to contribute wholeheartedly to the cause. Their synchronized efforts underscored the significance of discipline and teamwork in achieving collective goals.

    Adding to the depth of the event was the participation of Mr. Sajjad Ahmed Khan, an Environmental Soil Conservationist whose expertise lent valuable insights into the ecological importance of the initiative. Mr. Anil Sharma, the dedicated Range Officer, also played a crucial role, sharing his vast knowledge of flora and fauna, thereby enhancing the understanding and appreciation for the local environment.The event was further enriched by the presence of Ms. Hency Pandita.

    The NCC cadets, clad in their uniforms, worked diligently alongside NSS volunteers, their faces reflecting a blend of determination and pride. The lush green campus of the college became a canvas of hope, with each tree symbolizing growth, resilience, and the collective spirit of the community.

    The Principal lauded the efforts of the NCC cadets, NSS volunteers, and faculty members for their active participation and urged them to continue their endeavors in making the planet greener .     JAMMU AUGUST 12:–In continuation to Pre Independence celebrations , PSPS Government College for Women (GCW), Gandhinagar, organized an intercollege painting and essay writing competition inculcating patriotic spirit among students.

    The events witnessed enthusiastic participation from various colleges across the district. The painting competition encouraged students to express their vision of India’s progress and heritage through art, while the essay writing competition provided a platform for them to articulate their thoughts on topics related to freedom, democracy, and national pride.

    The competitions were judged by a panel of distinguished faculty members and local artists. Among the jury members for essay writing competition were Dr Shivani Suri, Associate Professor GCW Udhampur , retired Prof MK Mussa and Prof Sunil Kumar from GDC Khour. The jury for painting competition included Ms Mahua Gupta and Mr Ankush Hans, both the visual artists of Jammu and Khushbu sharma from APS sunjwan.The winners of both categories were awarded certificates and prizes, In Painting competitions 1st , 2nd and 3rd prizes were bagged by Trisha Khajuria, PSPS GCW Gandhinagar Jammu,Madhav Souatra, MAM College and Taniya Rajput, GCET Jammu respectively while in essay writing competition Manvi Rajput, PSPS GCW Gandhinagar Jammu

    Anmoldeep Kour, GCW Parade Jammu and Muskan Manhas, MAM College Jammu stood 1st, 2nd and 3rd respectively. The painting competition was coordinated by Prof Anupama sharma while essay writing competition was coordinated by Dr Pooja Charak and Dr Jagmeet Kour.

    Dr. SP Sarswat, Principal of the college expressed his gratitude to the participating colleges and students and said that these competitions are a testament to the vibrant and dynamic spirit of our youth. They serve as a reminder of our shared heritage and the ongoing journey of our nation.” The overall event was coordinated by Prof Sugandha mahajan and Prof Suman Bala.

    RAJOURI, AUGUST 12:–In a bid to promote patriotism and unity among the citizens, the District Administration Rajouri today organized a grand ” Tiranga Yatra” as part of Har GharTiranga Compaign 2024. The yatra started from the PWD Dak Bungalow and culminated at the Sports Stadium Kheora, where a cultural concert was also held.

    The rally was attended by a large number of participants, including students, government officials, and locals who enthusiastically carried the national flag. The “Har Ghar Tiranga” Compaign, launched by the government, aims to encourage citizens to hoist the national flag at their homes, promoting a sense of national pride and unity. The rally in Rajouri was a testament to the commitment of the district administration to this initiative, with participants proudly carrying the tricolor. The cultural concert held at the Sports Stadium Kheora added to the festive atmosphere which was widely appreciated by the attendees. A “Tiranga Pledge” was also taken by the participants, wherein they pledged to uphold the dignity and honor of the national flag, and to work towards promoting unity and integrity among the citizens of the country.
