    RAJOURI, JUNE 27:–Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Om Prakash Bhagat, chaired a meeting of the District level NCORD Committee to assess and enhance the existing measures of combating drug abuse in the district.

    The meeting served as a platform for a comprehensive exchange of ideas and strategies, facilitating a deeper understanding of the multifaceted approach required to combat and eradicate drug abuse from the roots.

    During the meeting, the DC scrutinized ongoing interventions to tackle the drug menace. He underscored the crucial importance of collaboration among all stakeholders, emphasizing the need for a united front to transform Rajouri into a drug-free district.

    Recognizing the pivotal role of educational institutions in preventing drug abuse, the DC directed the CEO to sensitize school children about the detrimental effects of drug abuse, adding that this initiative seeks to empower the younger generation with knowledge to make informed choices.

    To strengthen the efforts, the DC directed that CCTVs be installed in all medical shops to monitor and prevent the sale of drugs. He also emphasized the need to further strengthen and intensify the awareness campaign to reach a wider audience, utilizing various channels and platforms to spread the message.

    The DC also stressed the importance of ensuring proper treatment for drug addicts in Drug de-addiction centers and addiction treatment facility providing them with the necessary support and resources for a successful recovery.

    Promoting sports among youth was also highlighted as a key strategy to engage them in positive activities and prevent drug abuse.

    RAJOURI, JUNE 27: –Deputy Commissioner Rajouri Om Prakash Bhagat today presided over a significant meeting where 1130 cases were approved under the Holistic Agriculture Development Program (HADP) including 1059 cases of the Agriculture Department, 60 cases of the Animal Husbandry Department and 11 cases pertaining to Fisheries Department. He also approved 10 cases under the Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana (PMMSY)

    The meeting focused on evaluating the progress made in achieving the objectives of the program and informing farmers about the innovative interventions that have been made.

    The HADP is an ambitious initiative aimed at establishing a sustainable and profitable agricultural ecosystem.     RAJOURI, JUNE 27: — The Chairperson District Development Council Rajouri, Advocate Naseem Liaqat, today chaired a meeting regarding formulation of annual action plan for the financial year 2024-25, at PWD Dak Bungalow. The meeting was held to ensure that the projects proposed are within the budgetary limits and feasible to execute.

    Detailed deliberations were held with officers from various departments and DDC Members discussing priorities regarding the formulation of the anual action plan for the financial year 2024-25. The meeting also discussed the importance of proper utilization of funds, effective monitoring of projects and timely completion of works.

    DDC members gave valuable suggestions and inputs to enrich the planning process and ensure a robust and effective development strategy for the district. The Chairperson emphasized the need for a comprehensive and inclusive plan that addresses the needs of general public.

    The Chairperson directed all the officers to ensure the formulation of the plan in consultation with DDC members besides stressed for the formulation of an effective plan that will yield maximum to the public benefit.

    He also directed to identify works and projects that benefit the maximum number of people and can be completed within the stipulated time frame, as per the guidelines of the Finance department.

    He also asked members to focus on completion of ongoing projects besides projecting only those works/projects which shall be completed in stipulated time frame keeping in view the working period of current financial years.

    It was also exhorted upon all DDC members and officers to formulate the development plan in accordance with the ceiling conveyed to them and to ensure the best use of available resources.

    RAJOURI/DELHI JUNE 26:–The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) on Wednesday in New Delhi handed over a innovative technology known as Medium Range-Microwave Obscurant Chaff Rocket (MR-MOCR) to the Indian Navy.
    Microwave Obscurant Chaff (MOC), a niche technology developed by DRDO’s Defence
    Laboratory, Jodhpur, obscures radar signals and creates a microwave shield around platforms and assets, thus reducing radar detection.
    Special types of fibres, with diameter of a few microns and unique microwave obscuration properties, have been assembled in the medium range chaff rocket.
    The rocket, when fired, forms microwave obscurant cloud in space spreading over a sufficient area, with adequate persistence time, thus creating an effective shield against hostile threats having Radio Frequency seekers.
    The Phase-I trials of MR-MOCR were successfully conducted from Indian Navy ships, demonstrating the MOC cloud blooming and being persistent in space.
    In Phase-II trials, the Radar Cross Section (RCS) reduction of an aerial target to the extent of 90 per cent has been demonstrated and cleared by the Indian Navy.
    The number of MR-MOCR, meeting all the qualification requirements, have been successfully handed over to the Indian Navy.
    Defence Minister Singh has complimented DRDO and the Indian Navy on the successful development of MR-MOCR.
    “MOC technology is another step towards achieving Aatmanirbharta in defence,” said Rajnath Singh.
    The MR-MOCR has been handed over by Secretary, Department of Defence R&D and Chairman DRDO Dr Samir V Kamat to Director General of Naval Armament Inspection, Indian Navy Rear Admiral Brijesh Vashistha.
    The DRDO Chairman congratulated the Defence Laboratory, Jodhpur team for this significant achievement.
    The Director General of Naval Armament Inspection, Indian Navy also applauded the efforts of DRDO for indigenously developing this strategically-important technology in a short span of time.

    RAJOURI JUNE 27:–JK Police in Darhal area of District Rajouri have solved multiple motorcycles theft cases and have arrested 02 accused persons involved in the commission of crime.
    Apprehended duo have been identified as Imran Choudhary, son of Rayaz-ul-Haq & Shahnawaz son of Mohd Iqbal residents of Tehsil Kotranka of District Rajouri.
    As many as seven motorcycles have been recovered by police team of Police Station Darhal so far.
    Divulging details police said that on 24/06/2024, Police Station Darhal received a complaint from Khaliel Ahmed resident of Chokiyan, Tehsil Darhal, stating therein that in intervening night of 23rd & 24th, June 2024, his motorcycle, which he had parked at Ujhan, was stolen.
    Accordingly, a case vide FIR No 49/2024 under section 379 IPC was registered in Police Station Darhal and investigation was initiated.
    Pertinently the police investigation team under SHO PS Darhal made strenuous efforts and zeroed on 02 suspects who confessed their involvement in the commission of crime.
    The sincere efforts of Police team resulted in recovery of instant case besides also in FIR No.18/2024 u/s 379 IPC which has been under investigation since April of running calendar year.
    Mentionable that additional 05 motorcycles without registration numbers, 03 of Make-Pulsar and 02 of Make-Splendor, have also been recovered. With these recoveries few more similar theft cases of other Police Stations of District Rajouri and adjoining districts are expected to be worked out as investigations goes on.
