Altaf Bukhari questions NC’s silence over eviction, harassment of Gujjars in Samba.
Altaf Bukhari sought people’s support for restoration of Statehood.

RAJOURI MAY 20:–During his visit to Rajouri on Monday along with party candidate Zafar Iqbal Manhas, Apni Party president Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari appealed to the people of Pir Panjal region to defeat the divisive agenda of two families, the Abdullahs & Muftis.
Addressing a largely attended public rally at old bus stand in Rajouri, Altaf Bukhari said that the politics of hate by both the dynastic political parties during their successive governments has promoted regional bias, detention of youth, underdevelopment, and unemployment in the Pir Panjal region.
Altaf Bukhari urged the people of this region to vote in favour of Apni Party candidate for 3-Anantnag-Rajouri Lok Sabha seat Zaffar Iqbal Manhas to defeat the divisive agenda of these two political parties .
“National Conference (NC) and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have promoted the dynastic regime in J & K. They exploited the people by creating a wedge between them in the name of region & religion. However, the common man continues to suffer with the lack of basic amenities, underdevelopment, and growing unemployment,” said Altaf Bukhari.
“Apni Party is committed to provide equal opportunity to all the people irrespective of caste, creed, region, or religion” he said.
He assured the people that if his Party gets elected, he will ensure that the people of Rajouri get its due share in development.
Taking a dig at the NC & PDP, he said that they have restored their old tactics to create division among the people in the name of region and caste to gain votes. However, the people have become aware, and it would not be easy for them to get any kind of benefit from the people.
Raising a question mark on NC’s silence on the eviction and harassment of the tribal community in Jammu’s plain areas, he said that the NC used the Gujjars as their vote banks but did not utter a word against their harassment and eviction.
He also grilled NC for not providing protection to the tribal community and other dwellers under Forest Rights Act when they were in rule in the last many years in J&K.
“Now the situation has changed and the tribals don’t trust the NC-PDP anymore” he said.
Apni Party believe in the unity and equality of the people & work for their bright future, especially of the younger generation.
“NC & PDP are responsible for instability in J&K that resulted in an uncertain future. They are responsible for promoting mayhem in the state. They had put the youth behind the bars whenever they ruled,” said Altaf Bukhari while asserting that J&K’s future is with India.
He also raised his concern over misuse of power to detain youths& elders under PSA, unfair FIRs, & initiation of verifications.
“We want to end the harassment of the common masses and release the detained youth,” he added.
In his address, he also raised a question mark on the breakup in the PAGD because of a clash of interest between the NC and PDP.
These parties have forgotten their divisive agenda because NC does not speak about autonomy and the PDP also avoids speaking about self-rule,” he added.
“Apni Party came to the forefront to represent the people of J&K when they were in distress, and these dynastic parties were not ready to represent them. We visited Delhi for protection of jobs and land for the residents of J&K,” said Altaf Bukhari.
He assured the people that the issue of two tunnels to be constructed at Peer Ki Gali and Dera Ke Gali on historic Mughal Road would be take-up forcefully by the Party candidate if he gets elected to the Lok Sabha from the Rajouri – Anantnag seat.
For the restoration of Statehood restoration, he sought support of the people.
Vice President of Apni Party, Choudhary Zulfkar Ali while seeking vote for party candidate said: “The Pir Panjal Region is facing injustice with no industrial unit, no railway line, no tourism promotion, or development for the last seven decades.
Those who were elected to the Lok Sabha by the people of this region ignored Rajouri-Poonch,”.
Apni Party candidate Zafar Iqbal Manhas expressed his commitment to represent the people of Rajouri-Poonch equally without any kind of discrimination and would ensure that the aspirations of the people could be fulfilled.
“If gets elected to the Parliament, I will leave no stone unturned to get a separate Parliamentary seat for Rajouri-Poonch and Hill Development Council on the pattern of Ladakh for overall development of the Region,” he said.
Provincial Senior Vice President, Jammu, Ex-MLA Choudhary Qamar Ali sought restoration of statehood and holding of assembly elections and highlighted the concerns of the unemployed youth among the educated youth, and growing drug addictions.
Ch Qamar Ali sought release of the innocent youth detained under PSA.
The public meeting was also attended by Provincial President Kashmir, Mohammed Ashraf Mir (Srinagar Parliamentary seat candidate); Provincial President, Jammu, S. Manjit Singh; Provincial Vice President, Jammu, Ex-MLA Prem Lal; & District President, Rajouri, Syed Manzoor Hussain Shah.
