    SRINAGAR MAY 15:–(KNO): In a significant development, the banned Jamaat-e-Islami Kashmir Wednesday said that it was ready to contest polls if Centre would lift the ban on it.

    The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) imposed ban on JeI in 2019 , post Article 370 roll back, terming the organization as “anti national.” Talking to reporters here, JeI’s panel head Ghulam Qadir Wani of Gussu, Pulwama, said that the members of JeI casted their votes in the recent Lok Sabha polls.

    Wani was seen casting vote in the May 13 polls for Srinagar Lok Sabha polls.

    “We will try to contest polls in the upcoming Assembly polls slated for September this year,” said Wani while talking to media persons as per the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), adding that JeI always believed in democratic process. “We will field our own candidates if Centre revokes ban on us. There are other issues but revocation of ban is the first pre-condition to join the poll fray,” Wani said.

    He said socio-religious reforms would be the poll plank of JeI besides drug abuse and growing immortality.

    Wani said a crucial session of JeI’s Majlis-e Shoora was held and a decision was taken to contest polls. “We never changed our stance as we belive in democracy, ” he said.     RAJOURI, MAY 15:–District Development Commissioner Rajouri, Om Prakash Bhagat, conducted a comprehensive tour of the Kalakote subdivision today and inspected ongoing developmental projects aimed at enhancing infrastructure and public services in the region.

    During the tour, the DDC visited several important work sites executed under the Swachh Bharat Mission Grameen (SBM), Capex, MGNREGA including segregation sheds, community compost pits and community soakage pits. These projects are pivotal in promoting sustainable waste management practices and improving sanitation standards in the region.

    He also inspected the progress on the road connecting Manma Mata Temple in the Khargala area. This road is crucial for ensuring better connectivity and accessibility for pilgrims and locals.

    DDC directed the concerned officer to expedite the construction work to facilitate early completion of the project.

    At the Sub District Hospital Kalakote, the DDC conducted a thorough inspection of wards, interacted with the hospital staff and patients. He emphasized the importance of providing the best possible Medicare services to the patients.

    Furthermore, the DDC inspected the ongoing construction of the Government Degree College building in Kalakote.

    Later, the DDC reviewed the Material Recovery Facility (MRF) in the Municipality of Kalakote. He instructed the Executive Officer (EO) of the Municipal Committee (MC) Kalakote to ensure efficient management of solid and liquid waste, emphasizing the importance of maintaining cleanliness and environmental sustainability in the town.

    The DDC was accompanied by ADC Kalakote, Mohammad Tanveer; ACP, Sheraz Chowhan; EXEN PWD (R&B) Kalakote and EO MC Kalakote.

    POONCH MAY 15:–In a spectacular display of power-packed cricket Rathore Club emerged victorious in the final showdown of the Nangali Super League Season 1 outclassing Noonabandi Star by a staggering 127-run margin. Opting to bat first Rathore Club set the field ablaze with an imposing total of 246/6 in the allotted 16 overs.

    Tikshay Bali stole the spotlight with a blistering knock of 114 runs off just 34 deliveries, including an impressive tally of 13 sixes while Khalid Rathore contributed a solid 42 off 28 balls. Noonabandi Star’s hopes were dashed as Kafeel Manhas and Rashid Bhukhari struck with two wickets each bundling them out for a mere 119 runs in 9.5 overs.

    Despite a valiant effort from Nazarar with 27 runs off 14 balls Nazam’s exceptional bowling performance, claiming 4 wickets for 42 runs proved decisive. Tikshay Bali rightfully earned the title of Man of the Match for his outstanding batting display.

    In a ceremony graced by esteemed guests including Shabir Rathore Sarpanch and guest of owner Pervaiz Malik Afridi and Guest of owner Mamtaz Khan Rathore Club claimed the winner’s trophy along with a cash prize of 30000 while Noonabandi Star secured the runner-up position with a cash prize of 20000. Kafeel Manhas was honored as the Man of the Tournament with Tikshay Bali and Nazam clinching the titles of Best Batsman and Best Bowler, respectively.

    The tournament, meticulously organized by Rathore Club under the leadership of Basit Rathore and Asif  witnessed the presence of senior cricketers and distinguished personalities adding to the grandeur of the event.

    JAMMU MAY 15:–Bharti Airtel Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Bharti Enterprises, in collaboration with the Directorate of School Education, Jammu launched a new tech-initiative through TheTeacherApp today at Teacher Bhawan, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu. This three-month program, running from May 14, 2024, to July 19, 2024, aims to enhance teachers’ skills and knowledge in Foundational Literacy and Numeracy, Pedagogical Techniques, and Teaching Learning Materials (TLMs) in Jammu.

    The program includes targeted sessions led by industry experts to engage 10,000+ teachers from various schools of Jammu Division through interactive activities. The sessions shall have a focus on ‘pedagogical skills’, ‘understanding of foundational learning and emerging trends in education’ and ‘aligning with current educational philosophies and best practices.’ The teachers attended the inaugural session today through webinar on TheTeacherApp along with 500 teachers and Cluster Heads of Jammu Division in person. Cluster Heads will also join the three-month program through TheTeacherApp to be able to implement the learnings on ground.Mr  Ashok Kumar Sharma Director, Ms. Subah Mehta – Joint Director, Ms. Maneesha – Personnel Officer and Mr J.R. Padha – Chief Education Officer from Directorate of School Education, Jammu along with Ms. Mamta Saikia, CEO – Bharti Airtel Foundation, Mr. Sameer Shah – Head, Program Operations, Mr. Anil Bhat – Regional Head from the Foundation graced the inaugural session.

Upon completion of the program, teachers will attain certifications by successfully passing three assessments on FLN, Teaching Learning Material, and Pedagogy. These certifications will be offered in partnership with the Directorate of School Education Jammu.
