    Last rites of martyr on Monday at his native village Narian: Army.

    RAJOURI APRIL 14:–Yet another son of Rajouri district Havildar Pargat Singh has made supreme sacrifice in the line of duty in Bishnupur district of Manipur state on April 13.
    The details surrounding the circumstances of Havildar Pargat Singh’s sacrifice have not been disclosed yet by the Army.
    However, PRO Defence Jammu, Lt Col Suneel Bartwal informed that the martyr belongs to village Narian of Rajouri district, and his last rites are planned on April 15 at his village.
    Earlier, the Indian Army on Sunday announced the sad demise of Havildar Pargat Singh, who made the supreme sacrifice while serving in the line of duty in Manipur state.

    Another step towards self-reliance in an advanced technology-based defence system:Rajnath Singh.

    RAJOURI, APRIL 14:–In another step towards achieving self-reliance in advanced technology-based defence system development, India on Saturday successfully conducted the final developmental trials of 3rd generation Man Portable Anti-Tank Guided Missile (MPATGM) at the Pokhran Field Firing Range in Rajasthan.
    The final developmental trials of MPATGM will now lead to ‘Final User Evaluation Trials’ and eventual induction into the Indian Army.
    While complimenting the DRDO and the Indian Army for the successful trials of the system, Defence Minister, Rajnath Singh said; “It is an important step towards achieving self-reliance in advanced technology-based defence system development,”.
    Secretary, Department of Defence R&D and Chairman DRDO, Dr Samir V Kamat also congratulated the teams associated with the trials.
    “Indigenously designed and developed MPATGM by DRDO, has been field evaluated in different flight configurations several times with the objective of proving the technology with high superiority. The system consisted of the MPATGM, Launcher, Target Acquisition System, and the Fire Control Unit,” said the Ministry of Defence.
    MoD added an adequate number of missile firing trials have been successfully conducted towards achieving compliance of complete operational envelope as stipulated in the General Staff Qualitative Requirements (Infantry, Indian Army).
    The Warhead Flight Trials were successfully conducted. Missile performances and warhead performances were found to be remarkable. Penetration trials of the Tandem Warhead System of MPATGM have been successfully completed and it is found capable of defeating modern armour protected Main Battle Tank,” said MoD.
    The ATGM system is well-equipped with day/night and top attack capability. Dual mode seeker functionality is a great value addition to the missile capability for tank warfare. “With this, technology development and successful demonstration have been concluded and the system is now ready for Final User Evaluation Trials leading towards its induction into the Indian Army,” said MoD.
    Flight trials of MPATGM were conducted for a range of 2.5 km at National Open Air Range (NOAR), Kurnool in 2023.
