    SRINAGAR APRIL 08:–Chairperson of Jammu & Kashmir Waqf Board Dr Syed Darakhshan Andrabi chaired a Conference of Imams & Khateebs at Srinagar today. All Imams & Khateebs of Waqf Board participated in the conference while Waqf Board members Syed Mohammed Hussain & Dr Darakhshan Andrabi also participated in the conference.

    Eid-al-Fitr arrangements were reviewed in the meeting and a deliberation on propagation of the sufi ideology took place where in all religious preachers expressed their views on the responsibility of Imams & Khateebs on social awakening related to the hazards of the drug abuse, importance of peace and harmony in the society.

    Speaking on the occassion, Dr Andrabi said that it was the responsibility of the preachers to pass on the messages related to moral values and social values to the new generation in our society. “Spirit of inclusivity and spirituality is our strength & we need to propagate this sufi ideology. The teachings of our spiritual leaders and Walis and Rishis need to be disseminated to the youth”, said Dr Darakhshan. She said that this was the age of the revival of the sufi thought in J&K and religious preachers have a bigger role to play. While extending Eid greetings to the religious preachers, Dr Andrabi wished them all the best for Eid prayers in their respective areas.

    SRINAGAR APRIL 08:–As the holy month of Ramadan reaches it culmination, Muhammed Faheem Reshi, socio-political activist along with Touseef Rasool Dar , Bilal Ah Hakim , Zubair Wani,Firash Matto , Danish Altaf ,Ajaiz Ah Mir and Faizan organizes Iftaar distributions on a local level at Safa Kadal, Srinagar.

    Recognizing the importance of solidarity and compassion, especially during this sacred time, they are committed to serving the community by ensuring that all members have access to nutritious meals to break their fasts, Reshi said.

    BHALESSA APRIL 08:–The National Students Welfare Association (NSWA), registered NGO in Bhalessa, has issued a fervent appeal for a magisterial enquiry into the recent fire incident that ravaged several shops in Gowari Bhalessa. Expressing concern for the affected shopkeepers and building owners, NSWA emphasizes the urgent need for relief measures to assist them in this trying time.

    The devastating fire, which engulfed multiple buildings, has left numerous individuals in distress, facing not only significant financial losses but also grappling with the emotional toll of the incident. In light of these challenges, NSWA, through its Chairman Sadaket Malik, calls upon the LG Administration and the Deputy Commissioner of Doda to expedite the provision of relief to the affected parties.

    Chairman Sadaket Malik emphasized, “It is imperative that the authorities conduct a thorough magisterial enquiry to ascertain the cause of the fire and ensure accountability. Moreover, immediate relief measures must be implemented to alleviate the suffering of the impacted shopkeepers and building owners.     RAJOURI, APRIL 08:–District Election Officer, (District Development Commissioner), Rajouri, Om Prakash Bhagat, today supervised a mega awareness programme under Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) initiative here for tribal communities in Upper Alal.

    The event was organized by the District SVEEP team led by DNO SVEEP Prof. Mohammad Iqbal Raina, in collaboration with members Prof. (Dr) Khalid Rayaz, Mohammad Ayaz Raina lecturer, and SVEEP team 87 Thannamandi Sub Division, Prof. Ather Aziz Raina, Mushtaq Ahmed, Aalia Raina and others.

    Over three hundred individuals from tribal communities from the surrounding areas attended the programme.

    During the programme, Prof Mohammad Iqbal Raina underscored the significance of voting in democracy, urging all present to actively engage in the electoral process by exercising their right to vote. Mohd Ayaz Raina lecturer, emphasized on the fundamental right to vote as enshrined in the constitution and the pivotal role each voter plays in shaping the democratic landscape.

    In his address, ADC, Rajiv Khajuria lauded the virtues of democracy, emphasizing the power of choice it bestows upon citizens. He extended heartfelt appreciation to the officials of District SVEEP team Rajouri and SVEEP team 87 Thannamandi Sub Division for their dedicated efforts in organizing the impactful awareness programme.

    The event concluded with a Voter’s Pledge administered by the chief guest, with all participants vocally affirming their commitment.
