RAJOURI, MARCH 25:-– District Election Officer (DEO), Rajouri, Om Prakash Bhagat today undertook a comprehensive visit of polling stations in border areas of Qila Darhal and Doongi to assess and review the status of assured minimum facilities in view of upcoming Lok Sabha Elections 2024.

The DEO meticulously inspected the polling stations, one located at Girls Middle School Rajpura at Qila Darhal where total voters are 1324 including 714 males and 606 female voters and another polling station at MS, Pind Narian where total voters are 794 including 413 male voters and 381 female voters.

During the visit, the DEO had detailed assessment of various essential facilities for the smooth conduct of Lok Sabha Elections 2024 in these border areas.

He engaged with the stakeholders to ensure that all necessary arrangements are in place to facilitate smooth and efficient voting process. He also took provision of basic amenities like electricity, water supply, sanitation facilities, and accessibility for differently-abled voters at the polling stations.

Interacting with different stakeholders, DEO underscored the importance of ensuring that all polling stations adhere to prescribed standards as per ECI guidelines, to uphold the integrity and fairness of the electoral process. He reiterated the unwavering commitment of administration for facilitating free, fair, and transparent elections, wherein every eligible citizen can exercise their democratic right with confidence and ease.

RAJOURI MARCH 25:–A  meeting of All India Backward Classes Union was held in Targain under the chairmanship of retired lecturer and Joint Secretary AIBCU Kala Khan, in which Pirpanchal President Mohammad Munir Mughal was the chief guest.
The meeting was attended by a large number of members in which the issue of 27 percent due share for OBCs and Political reservation in J&K Assembly was discussed.

All speakers and participants while addressing members of OBC community said that the policy adopted by the BJP against the OBC community is not only condemnable but also intolerable. The speakers said that the BJP government deliberately has included some objectionable groups and castes in the list and it is a big conspiracy to do injustice to people of OBC category. They said that giving only eight percent reservation to OBC community in Jammu and Kashmir is proof that BJP wants to destroy OBC community.

The speakers condemned this criminal action of the government.There is no doubt that the government has passed the bill for UBL (Urban Local Bodies) to give reservation to OBCs, but the bill does not specify any specific policy for OBCs. Which seems to be another scam with the OBC community in Jammu and Kashmir.

Speakers said that when the concept of reservation has been accepted, then why not reservation for OBC category in other political fields? The speakers also demanded reservation in Jammu and Kashmir Assembly and said that this is the constitutional right of OBC community and they should get this right without delay.

All participants Appealed to the OBC community to pledge their valuable votes for the protection of the Indian Constitution, democracy and the country as a whole.
Also, OBC community will use vote for their own welfare, welfare of their children and welfare of their future generations so that they will not support treacherous political parties.

A part from this, a committee was formed for Targain Village and Liaquat Ali Mughal was elected as its president, Shabir Mughal as Vice President, Mohd Shawl Mughal Secretary, Abdul Qayoom Joint Secretary, Mohd Rafi Organiser, Mohd Farooq Coordinator, Mohd Shahzad Convenior, Mohd Shakeel Publicity Secretary and Shamas Din as member Secretary.

Other important personalities who presented their ideas in a vigorous manner include Rtd ZEO Muhammad Rasheed, Rtd master Maulana Shabbir Qadri, Ashfaq Ahmed Lohar General Secretary AIBCU.
