    Northern Command honoured brave/gallant soldiers & Units.

    RAJOURI-PRAYAGRAJ MAR 21:–To honour its gallant/ distinguished soldiers and units, J&K based Northern Command of the Indian Army held an Investiture Ceremony on Thursday at Prayagraj Military Station under the aegis of Red Eagle Division in UP.
    Northern Command is the most operationally active and challenging Commands of Indian Army and is at the forefront of the Nation’s efforts to counter the most serious challenges to its security and the scourge of terrorism.
    The awardees were felicitated for their exceptional bravery, commendable devotion to duty and distinguished service to the nation.
    Whether on official duties or in operations, the troops of the Northern Command truly represent the motto of the formation ‘Always in Combat’.
    GoC-in-C Northern Command, Lt Gen MV Suchindra Kumar, PVSM, AVSM, YSM**, VSM, felicitated officers and soldiers with gallantry and distinguished service awards for their acts of bravery beyond the call of duty and distinguished service to the nation.
    He also conferred GOC-in-C Unit Appreciations to units in recognition of their exceptional professionalism and unparalleled achievements.
    58 awardees, including 45 Sena Medals (Gallantry), three Sena Medals (Distinguished), one Yudh Seva Medal and nine Vishisht Seva Medals were presented with medals while 64 units were awarded Unit Citations.
    “The indomitable spirit and indefatigable courage of each valiant soldier when read out during the event, made hearts of all present swell with pride and gratitude”.
    Lt Gen MV Suchindra Kumar congratulated awardees and exhorted all ranks to give their best in all the spheres and keep up the high
    traditions and values of the Indian Army.
    He also acknowledged the contribution of all family members of the awardees for their unstinted support to service personnel in the performance of their duties.
    He also urged all ranks, ex-servicemen, and their families to rededicate themselves in service of Nation.
    Lt Gen MV Suchindra Kumar also interacted with the award winners and acknowledged their invaluable contribution in upholding the highest traditions of the Indian Army.
    Many military personnel, civilian dignitaries and the proud families of the award winners attended the solemn ceremony.
    “The Nation in general, and the Indian Army in particular never fail to honour and care for its brave soldiers and this concept was aptly showcased in the right spirit through the events conducted as a part of this ceremony”.

  • Man arrested with narcotics in Rajouris’ Darhal

    RAJOURI MARCH 21:–A man from Rekibaan Darhal in Rajouri has been arrested by police alongwith consignment of narcotics.

    Police said that a team on naka duty under Darhal police station area was on routine naka checking at Ujhan Rakiban when a person coming from Kassian side towards Rakiban tried to run away suspiciously and was chased by naka party and detained.

    He disclosed name as Aijaz Ahmed son of Abdul Majeed resident of Rakiban Darhal.

    On his personal search, police said, 06 grams of Herione like substance has been recovered from his possession.

    On this a case FIR no 15 /2024 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered.

    The arrest has been made by police team under the supervision of SHO Darhal Habib Pathan and SDPO Thanamandi Viqar Rasool Butt.

    SRINAGAR MARCH 21:– (KNO): Director of School Education Kashmir (DSEK)Thursday warned private schools of strict actions for charging prohibited capitation charges from students.

    Director School Education Kashmir Tassaduq Hussain Mir, as per the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) told reporters that schools will face action who will charge admission or miscellaneous charges.

    He also said that the department had already issued a circular in this regard and are monitoring the situation closely.

    About the recent incident of distributing wrong question paper to 12th standard students, Mir said that the government has already constituted a committee. “There will be no leniency to the responsible person and the factual report will be submitted to the government.”

    He further said that it will start probe into the incident from tomorrow. “Whosoever is responsible for this blunder intentionally or unintentionally will not be spared.”

    Notably, on Wednesday 12th standard students appearing in annual regular exams were given question paper of 11th standard. The board later cancelled the exam—(KNO)
