    RAJOURI MARCH 17:–A body of a man-who was a resident of Kalakot- was recovered on Sunday after 20 days of his missing in a river near Chingus along Jammu-Poonch highway under Rajouri police jurisdiction.
    Some locals found the body in a river in Sangpura (Chingus) area following which an operation was launched by the police & locals to retrieve the body.
    The deceased has been identified as Mohammad Mushtaq, a resident of Kurlian in Kalakote tehsil.
    The body is under possession of police for medico-legal formalities and will be handed over to family on Monday after postmortem.
    Cousin of the deceased informed that Mohammad Mushtaq left house on February 26 to visit a house of a relative in Dalhori area.
    Instead of reaching Dalhori, Mushtaq went missing and couldn’t be traced as his phone was switched off.
    On February 28, a missing report was lodged at Kalakote police station and Mushtaq’s last location was located near the new bus stand at Rajouri, he added.
    “After twenty days Mushtaq’s body was recovered from a river wrapped in a bag, which is a clear indication of murder and involvement of money transaction can’t be ruled out in this crime because the deceased, a father of 4 children, was a Nomad,” cousin added.
    He demanded a transparent and detailed investigation into the alleged murder of Mushtaq.
    The police have started an investigation in this matter.

    RAJOURI-DELHI, MARCH 17:-In a 40 hours long anti-piracy operation on Friday & Saturday, the Indian Navy has thwarted the designs of the Somali pirates to hijack ships transiting through Arabian Sea region by intercepting the pirate ship MV Ruen.
    The merchant vessel had been hijacked by Somali pirates in December 2023 and was under the control till now and pirates had been using the ship MV Ruen to hijack other vessels transiting through the region.
    Also, in a first in recent times the Indian navy has taken into custody all the 35 Somali pirates and brought them back to India for trials.
    The Indian Navy as part of the Maritime Security Operations has been carrying out extensive surveillance in the region including monitoring of traffic in Areas of Interest.
    The Indian Navy tracked the movement of the pirate Ship Ruen through surveillance information and directed INS Kolkata to intercept the ship approximately 260 Nm East of Somalia.
    On 15 March morning Kolkata intercepted MV Ruen & confirmed the presence of armed pirates through a ship-launched drone.
    In a reckless hostile act, the pirates shot down the drone and fired at the Indian Naval warship.
    In a calibrated response and following the law of the sea, INS Kolkata then disabled the ship’s steering system and navigational aids, forcing the pirate ship to stopstop.
    INS Kolkata undertook precisely measured actions while maintaining her position close to the Pirate Ship and engaged in forceful negotiations, which resulted in the Pirates surrendering and releasing the pirate ship MV Ruen and its original crew present onboard.
    The efforts of the Indian Navy in the ongoing anti-piracy operation 1400 nm (2600 km) from mainland India were augmented by the deployment of INS Subhadra in the area and by airdropping of the Marine Commandos (PRAHARS) by C-17 aircraft in the same afternoon.
    The pirate vessel was kept under surveillance by HALE RPA and P8I maritime reconnaissance aircraft.
    Due to sustained pressure and calibrated actions by the Indian Navy over the last 40 hours, all 35 Somali pirates surrendered on Saturday and the Indian Navy also evacuated 17 original crew members of MV Ruen.
    The vessel has also been sanitised for the presence of illegal arms, ammunition, and contraband.
    The sea worthiness of MV Ruen will be assessed in the morning on 17 March 2024, and the vessel which is carrying approx. 37800 T of cargo estimated at around one million dollars will be brought safely to India.
    The culmination of the ongoing Anti-Piracy operation involving pirate ship Ruen in the Southern IOR highlights the commitment of the Indian Navy towards reinforcing peace and stability, and to thwart the resurgence of Piracy in the region.
    The Indian Navy remains steadfast in performing its role as the ‘First Responder’ in the Indian Ocean Region.

    RAJOURI, MARCH 17: As the schedule for the Lok Sabha is announced, the District Magistrate Rajouri, Om Parkash Bhagat directed all the civilians possessing licensed weapons to deposit the licensed arms and ammunition at the nearest police station within a week.

    The District Magistrate, who is also District Election Officer (DEO), besides asking for deposition of weapons, has also directed all the printing presses, operating within his jurisdiction, to clearly indicate in the ‘Printline’ the names and addresses of the printer and publisher of any election pamphlets or posters.

    The district administration cautioned the printing press owners/operators against any violation of the provisions of section 127 A of Representation of People’s Act, 1951 and the instructions of Election Commission of India, underling that the same would be viewed “very seriously” which may in appropriate-cases include even the revocation of the license of the printing.

    The move aimed to ensure free, fair and transparent elections in the district as per the guidelines of Election Commission of India for Lok Sabha Election, 2024.

    RAJOURI, MARCH 17: District Election Officer Rajouri, Om Prakash Bhagat today presided over a meeting with representatives from various political parties. The objective was to underscore the importance of adhering to the highest ethical standards outlined in the Model Code of Conduct, and other applicable guidelines of ECI in view of the forthcoming Lok Sabha Elections, 2024.

    The meeting served as a platform to sensitize political parties about the imperative nature of upholding integrity, fairness, and transparency throughout the electoral process.

    All issues were deliberated upon during the session, encompassing crucial aspects such as complaining as per MCC provisions, obtaining permission for media advertisements, campaign vehicles, initiation of candidate bank accounts a day prior to the nomination period and the other important aspects.

    The discussions held during the meeting underscored the collective commitment of all political stakeholders towards fostering an environment characterized by ethical conduct, accountability, and respect for democratic principles.

    DEO reiterated the pivotal role of political parties in upholding the democratic ethos of the nation and emphasized the need for cooperation and adherence to the guidelines set forth in the Model Code of Conduct of ECI. He urged all parties to exhibit utmost integrity and responsibility, thereby setting a positive precedence for a free, fair, and peaceful electoral process.

    The meeting served as a reaffirmation of the collective commitment towards ensuring a democratic electoral process characterized by integrity, transparency, and ethical conduct. The District Election Officer expressed confidence in the cooperation and adherence of all political parties to the guidelines outlined, thereby fostering conducive environment for the smooth conduct of the Lok Sabha Elections.

    آل انڈیا پسماندہ طبقات یونین  کی آج ضلع راجوری کے ڈنڈوٹ گاؤں میں محمد ایوب حجام کی صدارت میں منعقد ہوئی۔ میٹنگ سے خطاب کرتے ہوئے یونین کی پیرپنچل اکاٸی کے صدر محمد منیر مغل نے حکومت پر الزام عائد کیا اور کہا کہ حکومت نے جموں و کشمیر کی او بی سی برادری کے ساتھ صرف آٹھ فیصد ریزرویشن دے کر ناانصافی کی ہے۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ ریاست جموں و کشمیر میں اس وقت پچاس فیصد سے زیادہ آبادی او بی سی برادری سے تعلق رکھتی ہے جن کے ساتھ یہ ظلم ہوا ہے۔ منیر مغل نے کہا کہ منڈل کمیشن کی رپورٹ کے مطابق جموں و کشمیر میں بھی ستائیس فیصد ریزرویشن دینا چاہیے تھا، جب کہ حکومت نے صرف آٹھ فیصد ریزرویشن دے کر او بی سی برادری کا مذاق بنایا ہے۔
    پبلسٹی سکریٹری پیرپنچال یونٹ محمد رشید نے OBC کمیونٹی کے ممبران سے خطاب کرتے ہوئے کہا کہ 1931 کے بعد ملک میں ذات پر مبنی مردم شماری نہیں ہوئی تو پھر جموں و کشمیر میں آٹھ فیصد ریزرویشن کس بنیاد پر دیا گیا ہے۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ آٹھ فیصد ریزرویشن او بی سی کمیونٹی کو قبول نہیں ہے اور انہوں نے حکومت کے فیصلے کی مذمت کی۔ انہوں نے حکومت سے اپنا فیصلہ واپس لینے کا مطالبہ کرتے ہوئے کہا کہ حکومت او بی سی طبقہ کا مذاق نہ اڑائے اور منڈل کمیشن کی رپورٹ کے مطابق ستائیس فیصد ریزرویشن دے۔
    جنرل سکریٹری اے آئی بی سی یو پیرپنچال یونٹ محمد اشفاق لوہار نے کہا کہ اگر او بی سی کمیونٹی کو 27 فیصد ریزرویشن نہ دیا گیا تو حکومت کے خلاف زبردست احتجاجی مظاہرے شروع کریں گے۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ یہ او بی سی کمیونٹی کا آئینی حق ہے۔ اشفاق نے کہا کہ حکومت کی طرف سے 15 مزید گروپوں کو شامل کرنے کے ساتھ او بی سی کے لیے 8 فیصد ریزرویشن انتہائی قابل مذمت ہے۔
    اس دوران میٹنگ میں ڈنڈوٹ گاؤں کے لیے AIBCU  ایک کمیٹی کا بھی اعلان کیا گیا اور محمد ایوب حجام کو گاؤں کے صدر کے طور پر اعلان کیا گیا۔ دیگر عہدیداروں میں جمال دین حجام نائب صدر، محمد فاروق جنرل سیکرٹری، عبدالقیوم پبلسٹی سیکرٹری، محمد منظور ایڈیشنل جنرل سیکرٹری، محمد شفیع ترکھان نائب صدر، محمد نذیر حجام، عبداللطیف حجام، جمال دین حجام، محمد فاروق حجام کو بطور ممبر سیکریٹری منتخب کیا گیا۔

    RAJOURI/BUDHAL MARCH 17:–A meeting of the All India Backward Classes Union (AIBCU) was held at Dandote village of Rajouri district today under the chairmanship of Mohammad Ayub Hajaam.

    Addressing the meeting, President Pirpanchal Unit of AIBCU Mohammad Manir Mughal blamed the Govt and said that the government has done injustice to the OBC community of Jammu and Kashmir by giving only eight percent reservation. He said that in the state of Jammu and Kashmir at present more than fifty percent of the population belongs to the OBC community with whom this cruelty has happened. Manir Mughal said that according to the Mandal Commission Report, twenty-seven percent reservation should have been given in Jammu and Kashmir too, while the government has made a joke of the OBC community by giving only eight percent reservation.

    Publicity Secretary AIBCU Pirpanchal Unit Rtd ZEO Mohd Rashid while addressing OBC Community members said that after 1931 there was no caste-based census in the country, then on what basis eight percent reservation has been given in Jammu and Kashmir. He said that eight percent reservation is not acceptable to the OBC community and they condemned the government’s decision. He demanded the government to withdraw its decision and said that the government should not make fun of the OBC community and give twenty-seven percent reservation as per the Mandal Commission Report.

    General Secretary AIBCU Pirpanchal unit Mohd Ashfaq Lohar said that OBC community will start massive protest demonstration against govt if 27% reservation is not given to the community. He said that it’s constitutional right of OBC community. Ashfaq said that 8% reservation for OBCs with the inductiin of 15 more groups granted by govt is highly condemnable.

    Meanwhile a committee of AIBCU for Dandote village was also announced in the meeting and Mohd Ayoob Hajaam was announced as village President. Other office bearers are Jamal Din Hajam Vice President, Mohd Farooq General Secretary, Abdul Qayoom Publicity Secretary, Mohd Manzoor Additional General Secretary, Mohd Shafi Tarkhan Vice President, Mohd Nazir Hajam, Abdul Latief Hajam, jamal Din Hajam, Mohd Farooq Hajam are members of the committe.
