RAJOURI MARCH 15:–The sudden power cuts during the holy month of Ramadan in Darhal, Rajouri, Poonch, and Reasi districts, including various Tehsils, have become a major problem for residents, especially during sehri and iftari times. People in these areas face daily difficulties due to the lack of electricity, which significantly impacts their ability to observe their religious practices and maintain their daily routines. It is imperative for the local administration to prioritize this issue and concentrate their efforts on ensuring the proper functioning of lights and uninterrupted power supply.

The holy month of Ramadan holds immense spiritual significance for Muslims, and the observance of fasting, prayers, and communal activities is central to this period. However, frequent power cuts during sehri and iftari times disrupt not only the physical aspects of fasting but also the spiritual ambiance that accompanies these practices. The lack of electricity affects residents’ ability to prepare meals for sehri and iftari, store perishable food items, and maintain a comfortable environment for worship and reflection.

Given the significance of Ramadan and the challenges faced by the community, the administration must take decisive action to address the power supply issues in the region. It is crucial to thoroughly assess the electricity infrastructure, identify the root causes of the frequent power cuts, and promptly rectify any faults or weaknesses. By collaborating closely with the local power distribution company, the administration can ensure a seamless flow of information, enabling them to promptly respond to power outages and provide timely updates to the affected residents.

In addition to addressing immediate repairs, the administration should focus on long-term solutions to mitigate the recurring power cuts. This may involve upgrading the existing infrastructure, strengthening power lines and transformers, and exploring alternative power sources or backup systems. By investing in the improvement of the electricity network, the administration can enhance the reliability and stability of the power supply, particularly during the crucial sehri and iftari times.

Moreover, effective communication channels between the administration and the community must be established. The administration should provide clear and timely information about planned maintenance or emergency repairs, as well as any scheduled power outages that may affect sehri and iftari times. Transparent updates will enable residents to plan their daily routines accordingly and minimize the disruptions caused by power cuts during this sacred month.

Engagement with community leaders, religious scholars, and representatives is essential in addressing the concerns of the affected residents. By actively involving these stakeholders, the administration can gain valuable insights into the specific challenges faced by the community during Ramadan. Together, they can work collaboratively to find effective solutions, advocate for the needs of the residents, and ensure that uninterrupted power supply is maintained during sehri and iftari times in various Tehsils of Rajouri, Poonch, and Reasi districts.

In conclusion, the administration must recognize the magnitude of the problem caused by power cuts during the holy month of Ramadan. By concentrating their efforts on maintaining proper functioning of lights and ensuring uninterrupted power supply, the administration can help residents observe their religious practices and experience the spiritual essence of Ramadan without significant disruptions. Taking immediate action, coordinating with the power distribution company, investing in infrastructure upgrades, and engaging with the community will collectively contribute to a more conducive environment for the observance of Ramadan in Darhal, Rajouri, Poonch, and Reasi districts, across various Tehsils.
