    RAJOURI MARCH 08:–In a noble gesture aimed towards giving a message of religious unity and harmony, a large number of Muslims especially youth visited the CRPF camp at Kewal Trun in Budhal area of Rajouri district in Jammu and Kashmir to offer their wishes to the CRPF personnel on the eve of Mahashivratri.

    CRPF troops organised a religious event in the camp to celebrate the religious festival.

    The local Muslim population headed by Mohammad Farooq Inqlabi, Mohammad Zaid Sagar and others visited the camp and wishes the CRPF troops on Mahashivratri.

    They together celebrated the festival and had meal in Langaar organised by CRPF troops.

    Mohammad Farooq Inqlabi , PDP leader and former sarpanch said that CRPF personnel are offering their services in Budhal area far from their homes and local Muslims of area decided to celebrate the festival with them in order to ensure that these personnel feel a homely atmosphere in the camp.

    He said that a large number of local Muslims visited the camp and celebrated the occasion with religious values spreading a message of harmony.

    ” We were happy to see how CRPF personnel headed by Company Commander Pardeep Kumar Mehta treated us and how our presence gave them a reason to smile as it was like a family function.” He added.

    RAJOURI MARCH 08:–The Jammu and Kashmir police in Rajouri observed International Women’s Day with an event organised at District Police Lines (DPL) Rajouri.

    The event was organised under the overall supervision of SSP Rajouri Amritpal Singh with police officers including Deputy SP DAR Afrat Hussain, Deputy SP HQ Ashwani Sharma.

    All the women working directly or indirectly with police department were present in the event who were felicitated.

    A token of gratitude was presented to Deputy SP SDRF, Jabeen Lone was appreciated for being the torchbearer of women in twin districts of Rajouri & Poonch as she had serve the region in different capacities and ranks of police.

    The speakers who addressed the event included Inspector Sushma Thakur, Incharge Anti Human Trafficking Unit, Neetu Sharma from One Stop Center for Women Rajouri,
    Dr. Farah Chouhan Medical Officer at District Police Lines Rajouri.

    The event was a huge success as the ladies from all ranks were present.

    RAJOURI MARCH 08:–The Supreme Commander of the Indian Armed Forces, President of India, Smt Droupadi Murmu on Friday awarded the prestigious President’s Standard to 45 Squadron and 221 Squadron, and the President’s Colours to 11 Base Repair Depot (BRD) and 509 Signal Unit (SU) of the Indian Air Force (IAF).
    The award of the President’s Standard and Colours is the highest honour that can be bestowed upon any military unit.
    “This is the first time in the history of the IAF that four units have been awarded the President’s Standard and Colours together in a single ceremony,” said MoD.
    On arrival, the Hon’ble President was presented with an aerial salute by three Mi-171V helicopters in ‘Dhwaj’ formation trooping the National flag.
    Minister of State for Civil Aviation, General VK Singh (Retd), also graced the occasion while Air Chief Marshal VR Chaudhari, Chief of the Air Staff and senior officers of the Indian Air Force were present on this momentous occasion.
    The ceremonial parade was commanded by Group Captain KS Sanu Nair of 11 BRD. First Day covers for 45 Squadron, 221 Squadron, 11 Base Repair Depot and 509 Signal Unit were released by the Hon’ble President during the ceremony.
    The President’s Standard was received by Group Captain M Surendran, Commanding Officer of 45 Squadron and Group Captain Shubhankan, Commanding Officer of 221 Squadron.
    The President’s Colours were received by Air Commodore Ashutosh Vaidya, Air Officer Commanding of 11 BRD and Group Captain Vivek book Sharma, Commanding Officer of 509 SU during an impressive parade at Air Force Station Hindan, Ghaziabad.
    Addressing the parade, the Hon’ble President congratulated the units receiving the President’s Standard & Colours and commended them for their services to the nation.
    The Hon’ble President highlighted the courage, commitment, and sacrifices of the Indian Air Force during war and peacetime operations, both within India and overseas. She also brought out the important contributions of the IAF in the ongoing space programmes of the country and the upcoming Gaganyaan mission.
    The Hon’ble President also congratulated the women personnel of the IAF on International Women’s Day.
    She expressed happiness on the fact that women officers are provided with equal opportunities in every branch of the IAF, which provides them with greater opportunities for career advancement.

    RAJOURI MARCH 08:–Senior Army officers, DIG Rajouri-Poonch Range Police, DIG Border security Force, representatives of Paramilitary Forces, Intelligence agencies, and other relevant stakeholders on Friday attended a joint intelligence & security review meeting in Rajouri.
    The meeting was organised by the Indian Army at Counter Insurgency Force (CIF) Romeo Force HQs at Palma.
    The primary objective of the meeting was to assess the existing intelligence and security situation in the region and formulate strategies to ensure the successful and peaceful conduct of upcoming events.
    During the meeting, the attendees discussed several key issues related to intelligence gathering, threat assessment, and security arrangements.
    They evaluated the potential challenges, such as possible terrorist activities or civil unrest, and devised strategies to mitigate these risks.
    The meeting served as a platform for sharing intelligence inputs, discussing security protocols, and coordinating efforts among different security agencies.
    The participants emphasised the need for seamless coordination, intelligence sharing, and proactive measures to ensure the safety and security of the region.
    Overall, the joint intelligence and security review meeting aimed to enhance the preparedness and effectiveness of security arrangements in Rajouri and its surrounding areas.

    RAJOURI MARCH 07:–After a large-scale protest by the people of Jhangar, Sarya and joined by thhe ex-sarpanches/panches and prominent social & political leaders of Nowshera town, the Army has accepted that the person killed in mine explosion along LoC on Wednesday was a regular porter working with Jhangar Bn along with other 59 persons of the area.
    The deceased has been identified as Rajesh Kumar s/o Sethi Ram resident of Sarya.
    The decision was taken in a meeting between Commander Nowshera Brigade, an 11-member action committee, and joined by Additional DC Nowshera, Tehsildar & SHO.
    The army has also agreed to provide financial assistance (as per service rules) of about Rs 33 lakh (for remaining service), free education to deceased’s 3 years old son upto 12th class in an Army Goodwill School, SPO job with J&K police to the wife (if she agrees) & creation of Smarak in memory of deceased at Bakshi Mohalla Sarya.
    It is pertinent to mention here that Rajesh Kumar while on way to forward post, received fatal splinter injuries in the explosion after inadvertently stepping on a landmine, which might have come out on the foot-track due to recent heavy rains along the Line of Control (LoC).
    But according to protesters; led by Sunil Choudhary, Bindu Choudhary, Purshotam Lal & others, initially the Army refused to own Rajesh as a porter.
    This led to great resentment among the people and on Thursday a large-scale protest demonstration was held in Nowshera town.
    With the intervention of civil administration, Brigade Commander agreed to hold a meeting with the 11-member action committee, Nowshera civil/police administration and finally the Army accepted that the deceased Rajesh was a porter.
    Both army & civil administration agreed for financial assistance, SPO job to wife, free education to minor son up to 12th class.
    Later the police handed over the body to family after medico-legal formalities for his last rites.
