    RAJOURI/NEW DELHI FEB 13:–Under Buy (Indian-IDDM) category, the Ministry of Defence (MoD) has signed a contract with Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), Hyderabad on Tuesday in New Delhi for procurement of 11 Shakti Electronic Warfare Systems.
    Shakti Electronic Warfare Systems along with associated equipment/accessories will be procured for the Indian Navy under Buy (Indian- IDDM) category at a total cost of Rs.2269.54 Cr.
    The Shakti Electronic Warfare System is indigenously designed, developed, and manufactured.
    “The “Shakti EW System is capable of accurately intercepting electronic emissions and implementing counter measures in dense electromagnetic environment,” said MoD.
    The Shakti EW System will be installed on-board capital warships of the Indian Navy.
    MoD said that the project will generate employment of two and half lakh man-days over a period of four years with participation of more than 155 industry partners including MSMEs, thus furthering the vision of ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’.
    Meanwhile, according to PRO Defence Jammu’s post on X, Defence Secretary Giridhar Aramane visited BEL Chennai on Tuesday.
    “Defence Secretary Shri Giridhar Aramane’s visit to BEL Chennai underscores commitment to indigenous defence production. Reviews performance commends R&D & manufacturing capabilities. Emphasises BEL’s role in Make in India & MSME capacity development” read PRO’s post.
    He also posted that the Defence Secretary underscores focus on excellence during his visit to AVNL, HVF, and EFA.
    Defence Secretary emphasises global manufacturing standards, R&D, and indigenization & encourages new product development for enhanced efficiency and competitiveness.

    RAJOURI FEBRUARY 13:–Under the aegis of “Operation Sanjeevani” JKP in District Rajouri arrested a youth following a recovery of Cannabis like substance from his possession.

    A team of police headed by SHO Rajouri intercepted Eijaz Wani a youth was apprehended  at Sailaanee Bridge, Rajouri and recovered 23 Challies of contraband cannabis like substance, weighing as much as 500 grams, from his possession following which he has been arrested.

    The apprehended accused person has been identified as Sadam Hussain Shah S/O Muzaffer Hussain Shah, resident of Phalnee, Tehsil Budhal of District Rajouri.

    Subsequently a formal criminal case under FIR No. 57/2024 U/S 8/20 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Rajouri.

    There is likelihood of more arrests in coming days as investigation moves on and unfolds the Forward & Backward linkages of this instant NDPS recovery.

    Notably this is the third consecutive narcotics recovery during recent passed 72 hours by police team of PS Rajouri under “Operation Sanjeevani” aiming to destroy drug-trade syndicate and its support structures.

    Pertinent to mention that JKP in District Rajouri has arrested dozens of narcotic peddlers in last couple of months as they were found involved in peddling of narcotics and has also detained multiple peddlers, the notorious ones, by invoking the scope of PIT-NDPS Act.

    RAJOURI FEBRUARY 13:–A one day training programme for Jammu and Kashmir police officers was held at the District Police Lines Rajouri jointly by Department of Social Welfare, National Development Foundation and J&K Police.

    The programme was inaugurated by SSP Rajouri Amritpal Singh (IPS) in presence of Mr. Rajeev Khajuria from NDF and Abdul Raheem DSWO.

    During this training program also named under Mission Vatsalya, the participating police officers were briefed on Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2015 for implementation of JJ Act and Strengthening of Child Protection Services.

    All the aspects of JJ Act and Child Protection were discussed in length. Special emphasis was laid down on procedures of handling juvenile cases, children in conflict with law, recording and reporting of Juvenile cases & roles of JJBs and CWCs.

    Mentionable that the lecture delivered by resource person, Ms Nimisha Srivastava, ED Council to Secure Justice, on “Required Communication Skills & Do’s and Don’ts for Police Officers while dealing juveniles” remained buzzword among the participating officers.

    The training program marked the presence of all senior police officers, SHOs, officers of Special Juvenile Police Units, Women Police Station Rajouri and Women Help Desks of District Rajouri.

    All India Panchayat Parishad (AIPP) is a government body and  an association of recognized autonomous apex Panchayati Raj institutions, addresses the issues of rural India and aims to strengthen the Panchayati Raj system.

    JAMMU FEBRUARY 13:–All Gujjar and Bakerwal Organizations Joint Action Committee has expressed deep anguish and lambasted on the Union Government for including the so called “Paharis” in the Tribal List.

    In a mammoth press conference held at Jammu a number of Joint Action Committee members spoke with regard to the inclusion of Upper Caste people in the schedule tribe list and further more said that we as community reject this inclusion of uppar caste people. It is also said that gujjar and bakerwals literacy rate is just 2% in comparison to those who are included in the list and are having 80% literacy rate. The speakers also said that we are up to the challenges and are ready to fight at any level and at any cost.

    Those who spoke includes Sr. Advocate Anwar Choudhary, Mohammed Azam Advocate, Mohammed Akram Advocate, Talib Choudhary Social Activist, Sadiq Choudhary, Owais Choudhary, Guftar Choudhary and others.

    All the speakers were unanimous to through a challenge to any unconstitutional decision in the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India or any other competent court.  Mohammed Azam Advocate said that we are fighting for saving the constitution of India and inclusion of upper cost people is not acceptable at any cost.

    RAJOURI, FEBRUARY 13:–In an effort to address public issues, Commissioner Secretary, Information Technology, Prerna Puri, along with the Deputy Commissioner, Om Prakash Bhagat today conducted an extensive public darbar at Lamberi block in Rajouri district.

    The event, attended by PRI representatives and locals, recorded several issues including road macadamization, bolstering health infrastructure, staff shortage, water scarcity, repairing of old handpumps, timely rectification of electromechanical components of water supply schemes, appointment of an Urdu teacher at GHSS Lamberi, expediting pending instalments under PMAY, resumption of work on GHSS Lamberi, dilapidated condition of road leading to Dandani, sanction of a veterinary center at Lamberi, proper drainage system on internal roads, enhanced pension for persons with disabilities, improving internet connectivity at Garan, tackling staff shortages at HS Garan, construction of road from Lamberi to Garan and blacktopping of Rajal to Garan road, opening of a bank branch at Garan and start of work on Dabbar Bagnoti bridge.

    The Commissioner Secretary inspected the stalls established by different government departments highlighting their respective welfare and development schemes. He interacted with the officers and visitors there and sought feedback on impact of various Centrally Sponsored and UT government schemes on lives of the people in the district.

    The attendees were not only heard but were also motivated to explore and avail the benefits offered by these initiatives.

    During her speech at the public darbar, the Commissioner Secretary conveyed government’s commitment towards addressing the issues brought forward by the local community. She said that top priority of the Government is to ensure that basic facilities and services are delivered to the general public in an efficient and timely manner. She reassured the attendees that their demands have been heard, and their concerns would be redressed on top priority.

    The Commissioner Secretary underscored the significance of collaboration between the government and the public saying that the development process can only be successful when these both work in tandem. She encouraged the community to actively participate in the journey towards a better quality of life for everyone. She stated that the role of the Government is to facilitate progress, but true development requires the active engagement and support of the people.

    During the public outreach camp, the Commissioner Secretary said that the primary goal of holding theses public durbars is to establish an accountable and responsive governance and ensure prompt redressal of grievances of the public. She highlighted the significant progress made in this regard, stating that out of 292 grievances raised during the last five public darbars, 164 have been successfully redressed.

    Recognizing the importance of proper implementation of the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) scheme, Prerna Puri directed the officers to ensure effective monitoring of the projects to ensure their completion within the predetermined timelines.

    In response to concerns about internet connectivity, the Commissioner Secretary informed that 968 sites in Jammu and Kashmir have been identified for installation of mobile towers. She reassured the public that necessary steps are being taken to address the issue, with the aim of installing the mobile towers by March 2024. She emphasized the need for continuous monitoring of ongoing developmental projects to ensure their smooth progress and successful completion.

    The Commissioner Secretary valued the opinions and suggestions of the public, recognizing their role as vital stakeholders in the process of governance. By fostering an inclusive and participatory environment, the program aims to establish a strong bond between the government and the people it serves, she added.

    Later, the Commissioner Secretary distributed baby care kits among the mothers of newborn babies under the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao campaign besides presenting certificates of cutting and tailoring to women beneficiaries.

    Earlier, the Deputy Commissioner highlighted the achievements recorded under various schemes being implemented by different departments in the district including Ayushman Bharat, PMGSY, JJM, PM KISAN, PMAY-G, etc. He also presented the status of grievances raised by the public during the recent public outreach camps and the redressal of those grievances.
