    POONCH FEBRUARY 09:–Dr. Sunil Gupta, IPS DIG Jammu-Samba-Kathua, holding Addl. Charge of Rajouri-Poonch, Range paid a surprise visit toady at Police Station Mendhar District Poonch.

    Accompanied by SSP Poonch JKPS Yougal Kumar Manhas SDPO MENDHAR JKPS Bopinder Kumar . DIG RP Range conducted a casual inspection as well as overall security review of the SDPO Office and Police Station Mendhar

    The purpose of the visit was to assess the operational readiness and overall functioning of the Sub-division Mendhar.

    During the inspection, Dr. Sunil Gupta-IPS inspected MHC Room, Malkhana, Havalat, CCTNS Lab, Jawan Barracks, Mess, Kote, functioning of CCTVs and also interacted with Officer/officials of Police Station Mendhar and Officers of CAPF deployed in Sub-division Mendhar and to provide necessary directions. He emphasized the importance of maintaining professionalism and adherence to procedures while discharging duties.

    Stress was given to maintain the cleanliness of the Police Station and other surrounding area. SDPO and SHO Police Station were directed to maintain extra vigil in their area of responsibility in view of past history of infiltration and the recent terrorists attacks.

    Dr. Sunil Gupta-IPS also briefed the nafri to strengthen the intelligence at grass root level besides stress was to put in more efforts to track down the active terrorists in the area. SDPO Mendhar was directed to provide every possible logistics support to the Police personnel/CAPF Coys deployed in the subdivision, required for performing duties in order to counter the terrorist activities in the area. He also directed to establish accountability measures to ensure compliance with security procedures.

    He also directed the officers for timely redressal of public grievances, special focus be given towards senior citizens and female complainants. He further directed that complaints of females complainant should be dealt by women staff of Police Station. Special attention be given on accident cases, Land dispute, kidnapping etc. He also directed and stressed for strengthening of Beat system of Police Station.

    RAJOURI/NEW DELHI FEB 09:–The World Defence Show (WDS)- 2024, currently being held in Riyadh, witnessed representation by three women officers from Army, Navy, & Air Force, a testament to Prime Minister Modi led government’s vision of leveraging ‘Nari Shakti’ across domains.
    Three women officers who represented the Indian Armed Forces in the various seminars of the WDS-2024, especially in the International Women in Defence themed events, include Squadron Leader Bhawana Kanth, Colonel Ponung Doming, and Lieutenant Commander Annu Prakash.
    On Wednesday Squadron Leader Bhawana Kanth, a fighter pilot from the IAF took centre stage as a panellist at the seminar titled ‘International Women in Defence – Investing in an Inclusive Future’, hosted by Saudi Ambassador to the United States Princess Reema bint Bandar Al-Saud.
    “The Squadron Leader shared her inspiring journey of breaking barriers and
    soaring through the skies, thus becoming a part of the revered fighter pilot club in India,” said MoD.

    Being the first woman fighter pilot to take part in the Republic Day Parade (2021) and participation in Republic Day flypast 2024, Bhawana Kanth insights on leadership, resilience, and the evolving role of women in modern warfare resonated with the diverse audience, who were impressed to know about her journey.
    “Colonel Ponung Doming from the Indian Army is the first woman officer to command the world’s highest Border Task Force located above 15,000 feet in the Northern sector with multiple firsts to her credit in over 20 years of service,” said MoD.
    Col Ponung has been at the forefront of many challenging assignments being an Engineering officer.
    Lieutenant Commander Annu Prakash of the Indian Navy brought her expertise in maritime security and operations to the forefront.
    “Her participation underscored the crucial role women play in safeguarding India’s vast coastline and ensuring regional stability & her presence in WDS 2024 helped in fostering stronger ties and collaboration between India and other nations in the maritime domain,”.
    The participation of these three exceptional women officers at the WDS 2024 served as a testament to the growing role of Indian women in the defence landscape.
    “ The trio will deliver an inspirational talk about their remarkable journey at International Indian School, Riyadh on February 08, 2024, to about 600 school children from various schools,” said MoD.
    The event will serve as a platform in showcasing the diverse talents and leadership skills of Indian women in uniform, inspiring future generations to follow their dreams and cover new grounds.
    The WDS 2024, which commenced on February 4, 2024, will culminate on February 8, 2024.
    Union MoS for Defence Ajay Bhatt visited Riyadh as head of the Indian delegation for the show.

    RAJOURI, FEBRUARY 09:– Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Om Prakash Bhagat today presided over a significant meeting and approved 244 cases under the Holistic Agriculture Development Program (HADP) including 166 under the Agriculture and 78 cases under the Animal Husbandry sector. The meeting focused on evaluating the progress made in achieving the objectives of the program and informing farmers about the innovative interventions that have been made.

    The HADP is an ambitious initiative aimed at establishing a sustainable and profitable agricultural ecosystem.
