    Maroof Khan, a distinguished political figure known for advocating unity and inclusivity, strongly denounces recent inflammatory remarks targeting a specific religious community. A tourist in Kashmir was reported to have made the divisive statement, “Jahan Jahan pe masjid hai woh khudwake Mandir Banaye,” (Build a temple wherever there is a mosque). posing a potential threat to our cherished social fabric.

    In light of this, Maroof Khan urgently appeals to J&K Police for immediate and effective measures against the individual responsible for spreading communal hatred.     RAJOURI, JANUARY 23:–Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Om Prakash Bhagat today conducted a thorough inspection of the Government Medical College and Associated Hospital (GMC & AH to assess the healthcare facilities and patient care services available in the premier Health Institution.

    Accompanied by a team of officers, the Deputy Commissioner assessed different departments and interacted with medical staff, directing them to deliver the best possible services and exhibit empathetic behavior towards patients.

    During his visit, the Deputy Commissioner paid a visit to the Oxygen generation plant and directed the concerned officer from the Public Works Department (PWD) to expedite the pending work. Recognizing the urgency, he issued necessary directives and set a deadline for completion of the drainage work by the first week of February.

    In his quest to enhance the medical facilities, the DC also inspected the blood components separation unit. Recognizing the significance of voluntary blood donation, he directed the concerned authorities to promote and encourage individuals to donate blood voluntarily, ensuring a steady supply of blood for patients in need.

    The Deputy Commissioner further toured multiple departments within the hospital, including the Emergency Ward, Pathology Laboratory, Resuscitation Unit, Isolation Ward, NICU & PICU, Ayush OPD Unit, Orthopaedics Ward, ECG Section, Dermatology Unit, Surgical OPD, Physiotherapy Unit, Medical OPD, Drug Deaddiction OPD, Gynae Ward, Paediatric OPD, ENT OPD, Speech and Hearing Centre, Dental OPD, Radiation Oncology Ward, ICU, NCD Clinic and Thalassemia Care Centre.

    With a focus on patient-centric care, the Deputy Commissioner directed the concerned authorities to ensure the display of available medicines in the Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PMJAY) store. This initiative aims to provide transparency to patients and their families and facilitate better decision-making regarding medication.

    While interacting with the medical staff, the DC stressed the importance of providing the best possible services to patients. He emphasized the need for empathetic behavior, directing healthcare professionals to exhibit compassion and understanding towards patients during their treatment journeys.

    Furthermore, the Deputy Commissioner took the opportunity to interact with MBBS students during his visit.     JAMMU, JANUARY 23:-– Secretary Planning Development and Monitoring Department (PD&MD), Aijaz Asad, today convened a meeting to review functioning of district level offices of the department.
    The meeting was attended by Director General E&S, Director General (PMCE), Director General (PFD), Regional Directors (E&S) from Jammu and Kashmir besides district level Planning officers, among other officials from PD&MD.
    The Secretary interacted with each district level planning officer and reviewed functioning of their respective offices. He assessed the status of Centrally Sponsored Schemes (CSSs) being implemented at the district level, including updates on physical verifications, surveys and evaluation reports.
    Emphasizing the pivotal role of CSSs in holistic growth and development of Jammu and Kashmir, Secretary underscored the need of achieving 100 per cent saturation of these vital schemes at the grassroots level. He instructed the Chief Planning Officers to ensure timely completion of all the schemes being directly implemented by the district authorities.
    The Secretary impressed upon all District Statistics and Evaluation Officers to accomplish all work assignments promptly including 100 per cent completion of Physical Verifications, Evaluation Studies, Surveys, etc., within stipulated timelines.
    He exhorted upon the need of optimally utilizing the technological interventions in the day to day working of district offices. In this regard, he asked for launching sensitization and capacity building programmes for the officers.
