RAJOURI DECEMBER 28:–No contact has been established with the terrorists even on 8th day of dreaded terror attack by them on two Army vehicles amid anti-terrorist operation in Dera-Ki-Gali (Rajouri)- Bafliaz (Poonch) area on Rajouri-Bafliaz-Poonch road.
Although additional troops have once again launched massive combing operations in the entire area, this area appeared to become a haven for them because the stretch between Dera Ki Gali and Bufliaz is heavily forested.
Within hours of this deadly attack, a massive search operation was launched in the entire area to track the terrorists who attacked the army vehicles, killing four soldiers.
On 20 April 2023 terrorists had ambushed an army truck near Bhata Dhurian in Poonch district on Jammu-Poonch highway, in which 5 soldiers laid down their lives in the line of duty, and the terrorists managed to escape in the dense forest.
Like the April 20 terror attack, the terrorists involved in the December 21 attack near DKG also managed to escape.
The modus operandi of both the attacks closely resembles. The terrorists initially targeted the vehicle’s tyres and drivers before firing on the soldiers, aiming for maximum casualties.
Once again, the terrorists succeeded in their nefarious design using local support for identifying troops movements, routes and for their safe escape to hideouts post-ambush attack/encounter.
The People’s Anti-Fascist Front (PAFF), established in 2020 by Jaish-e-Mohammad or Lashkar-e-Taiba, claimed responsibility for the ambush.
Meanwhile mobile internet services remained suspended for 7th consecutive day on Thursday
