PRESS CLUB JAMMU REFUSED TO APPROVE THE PRESS CONFERENCE IN THE CONTEXT OF BRUTAL ACTS RELATED TO JOURNALISTS

    GNS ONLINE NEWS PORTAL

    BY ASHOK RAINA

SAYS THAT FOR PRINTING THE NEWS, CRUEL ACTIONS MAY ALSO HAPPEN WITH OTHER JOURNALISTS

BY CALLING THE JOURNALIST CRAZY, MANY OFFICERS WANT TO FREE FROM THEIR INVOLVEMENT IN BRIBERY AND SCANDALS:-. ASHOK RAINA

JAMMU DECEMBER 13:–Being a national minded and caring profession, the situation of journalists is getting worse in Jammu and Kashmir, for which they are suffering.

Press Club Jammu refused to approve the press conference in the context of brutal acts related to journalists two days back. While refusing to give permission and said that other journalists may be brutally treated for printing the news.

There have been many cases of advertisements being stopped for not paying commissions and many journalists are forced to close newspapers without any reasons.

The stress and pressure on journalists is so great that they are not even allowed to put their point forward. It has become so much that journalists are threatened to be killed by calling them crazy, or the royalist and corrupt officers sitting in the ruling government want to free from for their allegedly involvement of their frauds and scams

When Ashok Raina, the editor of Northern Times, asked the Department of Information and, Public Relations, Jammu and Kashmir for a copy of the order issued by any officer under the RTI Act, 2005, regarding the stopping advertisements in the said newspaper, what he got was a surprising response. There is a lot of oppression and deception in the world of speech and journalism. First, journalists are forced to do what not to do in order to save their lives, later they are declared crazy, and to cover up scandals and frauds, and the opportunity to mislead the Judicial Courts and try to take advantage of it.

After hiding the advertising bills of the affected journalist who was displaced from his home, after the RTI Act 2005, the question he asked to the Directorate of Information, Jammu and Kashmir has been answered that the advertising bills of Northern Times were destroyed in the floods in the Kashmir Valley. No payment has been made for the destroyed bills till date and no compensation has been given while the flood affected families have also been officially compensated for which more than 85,000 crores have been allocated from the Prime Minister’s Fund at that time.

Editor Northern Times Ashok Raina has faced and continues to face oppression and persecution after entering the world of journalism, everyone will know from the documents attached as evidence in many courts. Officers want to run away from scandals and bribery by threatening said Journalist to be vanished after declaring him crazy or foolish.

I still hope from the court of justice that justice will be done to the editor of Northern Times and against the bribery, corruption and the interests of the state and journalism including literary identity. Editor of daily Northern Times also hopes that the higher judicial court would hear my case positively. and the clear thing is that if at any time any untoward incident will happens with the editor of Northern Times, in that case the Joint Director Information Jammu will be equally responsible for promoting yellow journalism and endangering the lives of journalists for his own personal interest and by putting them in trouble, like Humayun’s elephants, they are being pushed down from the mountain that history unveils again and again.

The situations of Mind blowing journalists seem to paralyzed for facing the worst and this is the first instance when Press club Jammu refused to allow the press conference to unveil the things occurring with the Journalists of Jammu and Kashmir .

It is unfortunate that when Press Club Jammu stops journalists from highlighting the problems they are facing, it questions the fourth pillar of democracy, the claim of people’s voice, which is very disappointing and surprising.

During a meeting with several journalists and journalist friends outside the Press Club Jammu, when the editor of Northern Times asked them for their cooperation, they also forbade the matter to be revealed by the media and said they also have fear from DIPR and by bringing the truth before the media; their newspapers may also stop their advertisements. Such a situation has to be faced and we cannot print or publish such a report.

Thus, the state of freedom of the press in Jammu and Kashmir is self-explanatory as to how well they are performing public services.
