    RAJOURI NOVEMBER 30:–Principal Secretary School Education, Alok Kumar on Thursday chaired the concluding function of 2-days UT level Kala Utsav-2023 being organised by Samagra Shiksha J&K at Teacher Bhawan in Jammu.
    The function was attended by many students and teachers from different parts of the UT of J&K.
    “Efforts are being made to encourage students to participate in different co-curricular activities in addition to their regular education so that they may become beacon of light for others,” said Project Director Samagra Shiksha, Deep Raj.
    “Earlier around 4100 students from 1917 schools of UT participated in Kala-Utsav competitions out of which 40 students were selected at UT Level Kala Utsav-2023. Among 40 students 20 have been selected for National level competition by a team of judges (linked with cultural promotion) from various higher institutions” he added.
    Deep Raj further said that access of every student to quality education is our priority and Samagra Shiksha is committed to mobilise all its resources to attain this cherished goal under the dynamic leadership of our Principal Secretary,”.
    While addressing in a glittering award ceremony function, Principal Secretary School Education, Alok Kumar stressed for promoting Art in education at all levels.
    “There is need to recognise the importance of aesthetics and artistic experiences for our students which play a major role in creating awareness of the rich cultural heritage and the vibrant diversity
    of our UT and the country,” said Alok Kumar.
    While emphasising the need of organising such programs on a regular basis at school level, Alok Kumar said: “Education is not only to preserve and transmit our diverse cultural integrities to coming generations, but its transformation is far more significant”.
    “Under the prestigious scheme PM SHRI Schools, 159 Art Studios shall be established to give a boost to the cultural activities. Such programs provide a platform for our budding youth to judge their aptitude in comparison with the students of other parts of country” he added.
    Director School Education (DSE) Jammu, Ashok Kumar Sharma thanked the teachers, CEOs, cultural wings at district and divisional level for their relentless efforts in making 2-days UT level Kala Utsav-2023 a grand succes.
    DSE Kashmir, Tassaduq Hussain stressed the need to up-bring the potential of students in the field of art and culture at institutional level.
    Twenty students (winners 7 runners up) participated under various categories in the UT level Kala Utsav-2023 were felicitated and awarded for their blistering performances.
    The students got Ist positions in 20 categories include Aaradhya Sharma, DPS Udhampur; Sahil Mehra, BHSS Udhampur; Amaan Ullah, G.     RAJOURI NOVEMBER 30:–Rangmanch Theatre Group (RTG) Rajouri staged a play Baday Bhaai Saahib’ at the Late S Pritam Singh Oberoi National Drama festival at the Kalidas Auditorium NZCC Patiala ( Punjab).
    Besides Director Rangmanch Theatre Group, Vishal Pahari was conferred with Sardar Pritam Singh Oberoi award for his contribution in the field of theatre.
    The short story (play) is written by the legendary writer of the history Munshi Premchand and has been directed by Vishal Pahari which is a witty and hilarious but very touching & riveting theatre adaptation of the legendary writer.
    Bade Bhai Sahaab is a light hearted story of two brothers with the elder one always scolding the younger for not giving time to education. The story touches on that relationship called brotherhood which often gets downplayed in today’s time.
    The play depicts the story of two brothers who were studying in the town and living in the hostel and the elder one was weak in studies, morally very strong but the younger one was quite sharp in studies and would take part in sports and other curricular activities.
    The elder one would not take part in any activity and would keep on studying for the most part of the time, but it took him many years to pass the eighth standard.
    This play depicts that even the people who had never been to school face the hardships of life better than many literate people.
    The play is focused on the role of an elder brother in one’s life. Should he be seen as a friend or guide? Can the advantage of a greater number of years alone justify his claims of respect?
    The play is directed by the founder of Rangmanch theatre group, a seasoned campaigner Vishal Pahari.
    Amit Singh Barwal & Vikrant Verma have played the character of elder brother & younger brother with great authority while Ashfaq Shahzeeb managed the light and music.

    RAJOURI, NOVEMBER 30-– The nationwide campaign the ‘Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra’ reached Darhal Block here as the Prime Minister of India launched the 72-day outreach and awaress campaign in the Country. The campaign aims to promote government schemes and ensure the saturation of flagship programs, and is designed to bring the benefits of these schemes to all targeted beneficiaries in a time-bound manner.

    The panchayats of the block Darhal including Chowkian-A, Sagrawat, Nadian, Ujhan-D and others engaged in the live telecast of the program and participated with great enthusiasm in the event.

    The live telecast of the event ensured that the entire community could actively engage in the proceedings and understand the significance of the schemes of the Government. Through this initiative, the government intends to disseminate crucial information and foster awareness about these schemes, ensuring that no deserving individual or community is left behind.

    One of the key aspects of the Yatra is the establishment of direct interaction between the government and beneficiaries. By sharing personal stories and experiences, the program creates a platform for individuals to voice their needs, concerns, and aspirations. This two-way communication not only deepens the understanding of the Government of the ground realities but also allows for the identification and enrollment of potential beneficiaries based on the information ascertained during the Yatra.

    BUDHAL/RAJOURI  NOV 30:–As a part of the ongoing month-long National Campaign against gender based violence 2023, an awareness campaign on Elimination of Gender-based Violence, organised by the JKRLM, Block Budhal was held at Halqa Panchayat Kewal Lower today.

    Sarpanch Gram Panchayat Kewal Lower Mohammad Farooq Inqlabi, BPM NRLM Qamran Hanief, Mohida Choudhary from Special Cell for Womens Rajouri, Block Health Officer Budhal Latif Dar and representatives from different line departments like Police, J&K Bank Budhal-Samote, Social Welfare, Legal Services, Education, ICDS besides PRI members, Self-Help Groups, Director of The Budhal Walnut & Horti Producers Cooperative Ltd (FPO), Officers of The UNATI Agri Allied and Marketing Multistate Cooperative Society Ltd and public of the area were present on the occasion.

    All the dignitaries spoke at length about the various issues surrounding gender-based violence, various causes and reasons along with the different types of discrimination and violence based on gender, effective and proactive measures to eliminate such violence, legal remedies and mechanisms available to the victims, need for reporting and highlighting cases of gender-based violence and the utmost importance of awareness about the same among the public. A rally against gender violence was also conducted with slogans

    The speakers also spoke about Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, necessary mental and emotional support to the victims, providing effective agencies to the women to uplift themselves socially and economically.
    Sarpanch Farooq Inqlabi appreciated the initiative of Govt of India towards gender based violence and said that this campaign will definitely end the discrimination and gender based violence against women’s.

    RAJOURI NOVEMBER 30:–Director Horticulture Jammu Ram Savak, (JKAS) today held an extensive tour of Rajouri district. During inauguration of training programme on Value addition of Fruits and vegetables in training hall at Rajouri, Director Horticulture laid emphasis on adopting new technologies on value addition of fruits and vegetables and simultaneously establish processing units for which handsome subsidy is available with the department.
    At the outset, of the training/ interaction, Director Horticulture Jammu reviewed the Horticulture activities in the District particularly new orchard establishment under CAPEX with special emphasis on Ultra High Density plantation and other components in the District. He urged upon officers of the Department to leave no stone unturned and work day and night for upliftment of the poor farmers of the District.
    Later on Director Horticulture inaugurates Walnut processing Unit established at Phalni Kotranka for which subsidy amount of Rs. 5.07 Lacs have been provided by the Department as subsidy component. Afterwards an impressive farmers camp was held at Budhal wherein large number of farmers besides various PRIs members and BDC chairman Budhal were present. Director deliberated upon adopting Horticulture as profession along with integrated farming for higher returns. Experts of Department gave a detailed presentation on technical know how and management of the fruit plants. Horticulture Officers of District Rajouri revealed the topographical SWOT analysis of the area.
    Some queries were raised by farming community regarding the implementation of the Horticulture schemes, and certain demands were also raised. The chair gave a patient hearing and assured the farmers for early redressal.
    Earlier Chief Horticulture Officer Madan Lal Tak briefed the chair about the achievements under various components in the District. In the evening director Horticulture visited Govt Fruit Plant Nursery Budhal.
