    RAJOURI NOVEMBER 15:–In two alleged terror acts under the jurisdiction of the Surankot police station of Poonch district, security Forces have arrested two persons (reportedly OGWs) along with arms & cash while in another incident a mysterious blast near a temple created panic in Surankot town.
    Official sources said in the morning on Wednesday security Forces, including the personnel of the Special Operation Groups of Rajouri & Poonch districts & Army, during a routine cordon-cum-search operation launched in Sailan-Banikhet and adjoining area apprehended two persons.
    On their frisking SFs recovered two pistols, 4 magazines, and reportedly Rs 2.5 lakh Indian Rupees (INR).
    The arrested duo has been identified as Gulshan Ahmed S/o Mohad Sharif resident of Banikhet and Ahjaj Ahmad s/o Abdul Rasheed resident of Sailan.
    Both the accused have been arrested and booked at Surankot police station under relevant sections of law for further investigation about their involvement in terror-related activities in the past.
    Meanwhile, tension gripped Surankot town when a mysterious blast took place near Shiv Temple in the late evening hours on Wednesday.
    Initial reports said that no person was injured in the explosion. Immediately after the explosion occurred, a police team from Surankot police station rushed to the spot and cordoned the area.
    Besides prominent members of the Hindu community, personnel from various intelligence agencies and the Army also reached the temple.
    Some inhabitants of the town said that the Anti-National-Elements (ANEs) on the behest of Pakistan wanted to disturb communal harmony & peace in the area while others were of the view that the explosion was triggered to express resentment over India’s support to Israel’s action against the Hamas.
    “It is the first time that the temple has been targeted in the town.SSP Poonch and the Commandant of the local RR unit reached the spot soon after the blast to assess the situation. Whoever is behind the explosion must be taken to task” said a prominent citizen.
    The police have confirmed the incident of a mysterious explosion near Shiv Temple in the town and said that the FSL team has been called for further investigation about the nature of the explosion.

    RAJOURI, NOVEMBER 15:–On the occasion of JanJatiya Gaurav Diwas, the Prime Minister of India today launched the ambitious ‘Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra’. The 72 day nationwide outreach and awareness campaign is aimed at promoting Government schemes to vulnerable sections of the society.

    The District Administration of Rajouri played a pivotal role in bringing the nationwide launch of this grand event closer to its residents by organizing the live telecast of the event followed by commencement of the local Yatra from block Budhal Old today.

    The event was graced by the presence of District Development Council Chairperson, Advocate Chowdhury Naseem Liyaqat; District Prabhari Summit Jarrangal, Director Industries & Commerce GOI and Deputy Commissioner Rajouri Vikas Kundal.

    The fundamental objectives of the Viksit Bharat Yatra is to encompass critical aspects such as reaching out to the vulnerable sections eligible under various schemes but yet to benefit, disseminating information, and fostering awareness about the schemes. The initiative further seeks to establish direct interaction with beneficiaries, sharing personal stories and experiences, while also enrolling potential beneficiaries based on information ascertained during the Yatra.

    Specific focus has been placed on key schemes, including the urban areas schemes like PM Svanidhi, PM Vishwakarma Yojana, PM Mudra Yojana, PM Ujjwala Yojana, Start up India/stand up India, Ayushman Bharat, PM Awas Yojana (Urban), SBM(Urban), PM eBus Sewa, AMRUT, PM Bhartiya Jan Aushidi Pariyojana, Ujjala Yojana, Subhagya Yojana, Digital Payment infrastructure, Khelo India, RCS:UDAN, Vande Bharat Trains and Amrit Bharat Station scheme and rural areas schemes like Ayushman Bharat PMJAY, PMGKAY, DAY-NRLM, PM Awas Yojana Rural, PM Ujjwala Yojana, PM KISAN Saman, PM Vishwakarma, KCC, PM Poshan Abhiyan, JJM and SVAMITVA.

    On the occasion a Mobile Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) Van, designed to traverse all panchayats and urban areas was also Flagged off by the District Prabhari, Summit Jarrangal. The primary objective of the van is to achieve saturation of all schemes and enhance awareness among the populace.

    The mobile unit symbolizes a proactive approach in making information accessible to every corner of the district. It reinforces the dedication of the administration in achieving comprehensive awareness, ensuring that no eligible individual is left uninformed about the transformative schemes initiated by the government for their well-being.

    Additionally, Jan Jatiya Gaurav Diwas was not only marked by the launch of the ‘Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra’ but also lit up with a vibrant display of cultural items that captivated the audience. The celebration resonated with the rich diversity of our nation, bringing forth a kaleidoscope of colors and traditions that added an extra layer of joy to the occasion.

    Different government departments contributed to the vibrancy of the event by setting up stalls at the venue, meticulously presenting a visual narrative of the myriad schemes and programs actively being implemented in the district. Each stall became a microcosm of progress, offering a detailed insight into the transformative initiatives undertaken by different departments.

    District Development Council Chairperson, Advocate Chowdhury Naseem Liyaqat passionately emphasized the significance of the Viksit Bharat Yatra, elucidating its role as a transformative nationwide journey aimed at promoting government schemes. His eloquent articulation delved into the far-reaching impact of the yatra, underscoring its pivotal role in ensuring the effective implementation of diverse welfare initiatives across the nation.

    District Prabhari, Sumit Jarrangal, Director of Industries & Commerce in the Government of India underscored the significance of various welfare schemes during a recent address. Emphasizing that awareness is pivotal for the successful implementation of government initiatives, he highlighted how informed citizenry plays a crucial role in the overall success of these programs.

    Moreover, he specifically highlighted the instrumental role of the “Viksit Bharat Yatra” in this context. This journey, aimed at fostering development across the nation, serves as a platform to enhance awareness and promote engagement with government schemes.

    Addressing the event, the Deputy Commissioner expounded upon the expansive scope of the Yatra, which primarily aims at ensuring the effective execution of the Central government welfare schemes in rural India.

    Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Vikas Kundal, meticulously highlighted the spectrum of government initiatives aimed at comprehensive development. He also underscored the significance of various ongoing projects and schemes, emphasizing their collective impact on enhancing the overall socio-economic landscape of the district.

    The Deputy Commissioner Rajouri Vikas Kundal also shed light on tribal welfare initiatives. With conviction, he outlined specific measures and programs designed to address the unique needs and challenges faced by tribal communities. Through his insightful enumeration, the Deputy Commissioner underscored the holistic approach of the Government, aiming not only to meet immediate needs but also to create sustainable development pathways for the upliftment of tribal populations.

School children & youth from different walks of life participated in the programme In her address Dr Darakhshan Andrabi said that this silent killer was introduced in Kashmir by those who wanted youth to follow their dictates of stone throwing and killing people in Kashmir for more than three decades. “Drug trade was the main source of funding the violence in Kashmir for three decades. Those who remained in power during this period supported this notorious industry and used these traders for their political benifits This nexus has ruined the future of our youth said Dr Andrabi She said that she had been regularly raising her voice everywhere about this catastrophic situation since past more than a decade but people with political interests had resolved not to intervene Majority of our so-called civil society representatives were busy in speaking in tune with separatists when this conspiracy of destroying our generations was being implemented at ground levels with the help of our politicians Now it had become a dreadly evil of a huge magnitude This year govt nabbed thousands and booked a large number of then under severe cases but it is not going to help till we all utilize our utmost powers at individual levels to uproot this deep rooted network from the society said Dr Darakhshan She said that religious leaders intellectuals and media fraternity has bigger roles to play.     POONCH NOVEMBER 15:– Continuing its action against drug peddlers Poonch Police today attached one double -storied, residential house valuing in lakhs and motor vehicles jointly belonging to notorious drug peddlers namely (1) Mehmood Hussain (2) Zaffer Iqbal (3) Javid Iqbal all sons of Talib Hussain R/O Deri Dabsi A/P Kotian Mendhar under section 68-Fof NDPS Act 1985.

    The residential house and vehicles was identified as illegally acquired property during the course of investigation/enquiry conducted by Poonch Police. The property was prima facie accured from illicit trafficking in Narcotic drug and Psychotropic Substances by the owners.

    Pertinently the said Drug peddlers are involved in Case FIR NOs:-130/2016 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act PS Nowabad Jammu. 99/2017 U/S 8/22/29 NDPS Act PS Mendhar.40/2021 U/S 8 (a)/21/22/27-A NDPS Act PS Gursai98/2022 U/S 8(a)/21/22/29 NDPS Act PS Mendhar.

    This operation reaffirms the commitment of Mendhar Police to combat the drug menace. Local people of the area hailed the initiative of Poonch Police with regard to the attachment of immoveable property, which has been raised/ used from illicit trafficking of narcotics by the drug peddlers in the District Poonch.
