    RAJOURI, OCTOBER 26 :–Block Medical Officer (BMO) Nowshera, Dr. Iqbal Malik in different orders issued on Thursday sought explanations from 17 employees of three health centers within two days for remaining absent unauthorisedly from their legitimate duties.
    Acting tough against the erring employees, BMO also ordered to keep their salaries withheld for the month of October and also directed to deduct two & half days’ salaries of all the employees, to deposit the amount in the government treasury, and proper entry into their service books.
    It is pertinent to mention here that the government provides two & half days salary to non-gazetted staff of the Health & Medical Education Department who perform additional duties on Sundays & holidays.
    On Friday afternoon BMO, Dr. Iqbal Malik paid surprise visits to Primary Health Center (PHC) 24X7 at Lamberi and found five employees unauthorisedly absent while at Hanjana he found the Sub-Center (Health Wellness Center) locked.
    ABHA ID, Vaccination, Junk free Hospitals, Cleanliness, Anaemia Mukt, TB Mukt, NCD Screening, Dental Checkup, Eye Screening, Screening of School Children, awareness about flagship programs/schemes etc.), but you have failed to comply the orders of higher authorities as well as this office.”
    A similar order was issued for SC Hanjana that reads: “Undersigned paid surprise visit in sub-center (HMC) today at about 1 pm & you all (2 employees) were found on uauthorised absent from duties & health institution was locked”.
    For PHC Lamberi the order reads: “Undersigned paid surprise visit to PHC Lamberi today & you all (five employees) were unauthorised absent from duties & your whereabouts are not known to this office”.
    As per separate orders, BMO has directed all the absentee employees to explain their positions as to why disciplinary action shall not be taken– against them under Employees (classification, Control, and Appeal Rules) & furnish your replies of explanation to this office within 2 days positively.
    Meanwhile, the salary for the month of October 2023 shall be kept withheld and Two & Half Day Salary shall be deducted and deposited in the Government Treasury and also proper entry in the service book

    NEW DELHI, OCTOBER 26:–Eight former Indian Navy personnel were on Thursday handed death penalty in Qatar by a local court, a verdict that India described as “deeply” shocking.

    The Indian nationals, all employees of Al Dahra company, were taken into custody in August last year in an alleged case of espionage. The charges against the Indian nationals were not made public by Qatari authorities.

    In its reaction, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said it is attaching “high importance” to this case and is exploring all legal options.

    “We have initial information that the Court of First Instance of Qatar has today passed a judgement in the case involving eight Indian employees of Al Dahra company,” it said.

    “We are deeply shocked by the verdict of death penalty and are awaiting the detailed judgement. We are in touch with the family members and the legal team, and we are exploring all legal options,” it said.

    The MEA said it will continue to extend all consular and legal assistance to the Indians.

    “We attach high importance to this case, and have been following it closely. We will continue to extend all consular and legal assistance. We will also take up the verdict with Qatari authorities,” it said in a statement.

    “Due to the confidential nature of proceedings of this case, it would not be appropriate to make any further comment at this juncture,” it added.

    RAJOURI, OCTOBER 26:–The nationwide campaign “Meri Maati Mera Desh” was launched on August 9, 2023, as an initiative to honor the courageous individuals, known as ‘Veers,’ who sacrificed their lives for the nation. This campaign serves as the culmination of the ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’ and aims to pay homage to the indomitable spirit of our country’s heroes, uniting people from diverse backgrounds.

    In the first phase of the campaign, soil or rice was collected from different panchayats, symbolizing the essence of our land and its people. This precious maati was gracefully placed in the Amrit Kalash, representing the collective strength and resilience of our nation. During the second phase, the maati from different panchayats of the district was harmoniously blended into a single Kalash at the block level, symbolizing the unity and oneness of our communities.

    In the third phase of the campaign, the Amrit Kalash, embodying the collective spirit of the district, found its way to a designated location at the district level. Today, on this auspicious occasion, Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Vikas Kundal along with SSP Rajouri, Amrit Pal Singh flagged off youth volunteers carrying Amrit kalash from Rajouri to Jammu and further to Dehli.

    During the flag-off ceremony, the Deputy Commissioner Vikas Kundal expressed his profound gratitude to the brave Veers who have laid down their lives for the nation. He emphasized that “Meri Maati Mera Desh” is not merely a set of activities but a collective expression of gratitude etched into the very earth of our villages and cities. It is a heartfelt homage to the valor that defines our great nation.

    The Deputy Commissioner Vikas Kundal further highlighted the significance of the campaign in fostering unity and harmony among the people of India. He stressed that this initiative brings together individuals from diverse backgrounds, transcending barriers of caste, creed, and region. The campaign serves as a reminder that our nation’s strength lies in its unity and the collective spirit of its people.

The match was a significant event organized on the theme of Nasha Mukt Abhiyan to commemorate JK UT Foundation Day.

    The match brought together civil administration officers/officials and police administration officers/officials, highlighting the power of sports to bridge gaps and foster camaraderie among different sections of society.     POONCH OCTOBER 26:– A 55-year-old man was dead and his wife and two relatives were injured when a ‘kacha’ house suddenly collapsed in Gursai Mohri village of Mendhar in Poonch district around midnight, officials said on Thursday.
    The owner of house, Riyaz Hussain Shah, 55, son of Saber Hussain Shah, his wife Shamim Akhtar, 52, and their relatives who happen to be their neighbors also, Irfan Haider, 30, and Wazaif Haider sons of Mehboob Hussain Sayed, were injured in the incident which occurred at around 12:30 a.m. The injured were later shifted to SDH Surankote.
    However, they said, Reyaz Hussain Shah succumbed to his injuries.
    Confirming it, a police official said that they have taken cognizance of the matter.
