    KATHUA, SEPTEMBER 27 :–Jammu and Kashmir’s Director General of Police (DGP) Dilbagh Singh Wednesday said that after the administration handed over police recruitment to a separate agency, there are 4000 vacancies of constables in the department while deficiency is being felt everywhere.

    “Earlier, police would conduct its recruitment drives itself. Since the recruitment process was handed over to some separate agency, there are 4000 vaccancies of police constables in the department. The deficiency in ranks is being felt every where in J&K,” DGP Singh told reporters on the side-lines of a security review meeting at Kathua district, as per news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO).

    He said that Kathua and its remote villages are maintaining the communal harmony. “There are hardworking people who spend days in fields and shops to earn their livelihood. Peaceful atmosphere is prevailing in this district,” the DGP said, adding that “there is a great demand for the police recruitment drives as youth here are facing unemployment.”

    He said that police had been always giving priority to border areas whenever recruitment drives were held in the past.

    Asked about situation post Kokernag encounter where two army officers and a police officer were killed, the DGP said “situation continues to remain peaceful as it was earlier.”

    He said that neighbouring country always hatches conspiracies to destabilise the peace but police and forces are alert to foil all such bids—(KNO)

    RAJOURI, SEPTEMBER 27: –Deputy Commissioner Vikas Kundal today conducted a thorough inspection of the ongoing construction work on the Koteranka Khawas road.

    He was accompanied by the Executive Engineer (XEN) of the Public Works Department Koteranka, Vikas Bhel.

    The 30.2 kilometer Koteranka Khawas road project, a cornerstone of regional infrastructure development, carries an estimated cost of Rs 68 crore, the road holds immense promise in improving the lives of the local population residing along its route.

    During the inspection, the Deputy Commissioner underscored the critical importance of adhering to stringent quality parameters throughout the construction process. He emphasized the need for uncompromising commitment to quality, ensuring that the road not only connects communities but also stands as a symbol of durability and resilience in the face of environmental challenges.

    “The Koteranka Khawas road is more than just a physical connection; it is a lifeline that will enhance connectivity, facilitate trade and open new avenues of progress for the people of this region.     RAJOURI, SEPTEMBER 27: –A momentous Chintan Shivir was today convened at Block Khawas to discuss the contours of development plan under Aspirational Block Development Program.

    Chaired by District Development Commissioner i, Vikas Kundal, the crucial meeting attended by PRIs, government functionaries, civil society members had detailed discussions on varied developmental issues to be addressed under Aspirational Block Development Programme.

    The Aspirational Block Development Programme is a nationwide programme which focuses on improving governance to enhance the quality of life of citizens in the most difficult and underdeveloped blocks of India by converging existing schemes, defining outcomes, and monitoring them on a constant basis.

    The objective was to deliberate, strategize, and devise solutions for issues hampering development while pinpointing geographical areas that need focused attention across 39 Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) in nine crucial sectors across five themes.

    This strategic Chintan Shivir was marked by extensive discussions among key stakeholders. It centered on evaluating the progress across 9 sectors, namely Health, Nutrition, Education, Agriculture, Basic Infrastructure, Drinking Water, Sanitation, Financial Inclusion, and Social Development, through the lens of 39 KPIs.

    District Development Commissioner Vikas Kundal, guided the proceedings. His role as Chairman of this significant event was pivotal in facilitating candid discussions, brainstorming, and fostering a collaborative environment for crafting a developmental roadmap.

    The deliberations within the Chintan Shivir embraced the spirit of cooperative problem-solving. It identified geographical pockets and areas that require special attention and innovative interventions to bridge developmental gaps effectively.

    The Aspirational Blocks Development Programme epitomizes the commitment of the administration to inclusive growth, leaving no community behind. The successful Chintan Shivir exemplified the power of collective efforts and innovative strategies in confronting challenges and harnessing the latent potential of the region.

    The event drew together various stakeholders and it was a testament to the collective commitment to ensure equitable access to essential services, opportunities, and an improved quality of life for all citizens.

    DDC expressed satisfaction with the outcomes of the Chintan Shivir, emphasizing its pivotal role as a catalyst for positive change. He lauded the dedication and cooperation of all participants, highlighting that the tangible results in the identified sectors are now within closer reach.

    During the assessment of various departments, the Deputy Commissioner emphasized the utmost importance of addressing any existing gaps and expediting developmental projects while aligning with their respective priorities and deliverables. Furthermore, DDC also underscored the critical need to extend individual beneficiary schemes down to the grassroots level within the aspirational blocks.

    During the Chintan Shivir, Deputy Commissioner emphasized a priority focus on those who are antodayas. He underscored the progress of the Koteranka road project, highlighting its rapid development to enhance area connectivity.

    Addressing the issue of staff shortages, the Deputy Commissioner Vikas Kundal provided assurance that these gaps would be promptly addressed to improve administrative efficiency. In the realm of education, he placed emphasis on student enrollment and the implementation of online teaching classes from Rajouri headquarter. Furthermore, the Deputy Commissioner Vikas Kundal stressed the need for infrastructure development at HS Khawas.

    To ensure comprehensive coverage, he committed to include all remaining beneficiaries under the Awas Plus. These priorities and initiatives collectively reflect commitment of the administration to the holistic development of the region.

    Under the Jal Jeevan Mission, Deputy Commissioner Vikas Kundal said that work on 15 out of the 16 planned schemes has already commenced, signaling significant progress in providing access to clean and safe drinking water. He reiterated his commitment to ensuring that all remaining households would soon have functional tapped water connections through the JJM.

    In the realm of healthcare, the Deputy Commissioner Vikas Kundal emphasized the importance of universal coverage for all eligible beneficiaries under the Ayushman Bharat scheme. This comprehensive approach to healthcare reflects his dedication to improving the well-being of the community.

    DDC also rallied all district officers, encouraging them to work collaboratively and wholeheartedly to saturate these schemes in the aspirational blocks, ultimately achieving tangible and impactful results at the grassroots level.

    The DDC fervently emphasized the pivotal role of all stakeholders in the forthcoming Sankalp Saptah, set to launch on September 30, 2023, under the visionary guidance of the Prime Minister. During insightful discussions on matters of paramount public significance, the Deputy Commissioner rallied the Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs), urging them to forge a harmonious alliance. Together, they are poised to orchestrate a symphony of transformative initiatives, including Swasthya Melas, Poshan Melas, Swacchta Ek Sankalp, Krishi Melas, Shiksha Ek Sankalp, and Sammridhi Divas, meticulously tailored to empower rural livelihoods across every nook and cranny of Block Khawas.

    In a resounding chorus of commitment, the PRIs solemnly pledged their unwavering dedication to this collective endeavor, pledging to steer the wheels of progress toward a brighter future.

    The Chintan Shivir concluded on a promising note, carrying the aspirations of progress and development in the aspirational blocks of Rajouri. The administration extends its heartfelt gratitude to all participants who actively engaged in this transformative endeavor.

    The Chintan Shivir served as a remarkable platform for all the stakeholders to converge and deliberate on strategies that will shape the aspirations of Block Khawas.

    In a statement issued here, Saima Jan appealed to people to pray for peace and harmony in Jammu and Kashmir on this revered occasion, adding that it was on this day the prophet of prophets Muhammad (saw) was born.

    In her message on the auspicious occasion of Eid Milad-un-Nabi (SAW), Altaf Thakur said, “I extend my heartiest greetings to the people, especially Muslims in Jammu and Kashmir, on the revered occasion of Eid Milad-un-Nabi, which marks the birth anniversary of our beloved prophet (PBUH). The revered day brings blessings to mankind as the Almighty Allah sent Prophet Muhammad (SAW) as a messenger of peace and harmony for everyone living in this world.

    RAJOURI SEPTEMBER 27:–Continuing its efforts to take stern action against notorious bovine smugglers and to take adequate preventive measures against their unlawful activities, Rajouri police has booked another notorious bovine smuggler under Public Safety Act (PSA).

    The notorious criminal namely Nazarat Hussain Shah son of Zabir Shah resident of Village Plangarh Tehsil Thanamandi, Rajouri has been booked under Public Safety Act for his repeated criminal activities which are highly prejudicial and detrimental to the maintenance of public order.

    Taking note of his repeated involvement in unlawful activities the said person is detained under PSA after an order issued by DM Rajouri on the basis of a report submitted by District Police Office Rajouri.

    Action against notorious criminals is the main priority of Police in the district with many criminals already been booked/detained under law of land while some preventive detentions have also been made.
