    UDHAMPUR JULY 25:–District Police Udhampur held a youth awareness campaign at High School Seen Thakran, Phalata, Udhampur and delivered informative and motivating lecture among the participants regarding the ill effects of narcotic drug addiction, many other important things.

    The event was organized on the directions of SSP Udhampur Dr. Vinod Kumar- IPS and chaired the event by ASI Ramesh Kumar and Atif Tak (Pharmasist from drug de Addiction centre DPL Udhampur).

    ASI Ramesh Kumar made aware the participants about the working of Police Station, Nature of Crime, legal disposal, merit/demerits of social media etc.

    Mr. Atif Tak on the occassion, said that the issue of drug abuse is a challenge before the country. It is the duty of all stakeholders to join in creating awareness about the illegal use of drugs and the measures to be taken to prevent this menace. He also highlighted his experience in treating drug addicts. He gave a detailed speech on how to recognize that a person is addicted of drugs, treatment and testing process.

    During last few months, Udhampur Police has organized many awareness programmes in the district so that awareness could be developed among the people/students/youth of the district.

    RAJOURI JULY 25:–Rotary Club Rajouri Grand on Tuesday distributed items of daily use among the inmates of Parisha (children’s home for girls), also known as Nari Niketan, in a simple but impressive function.
    The program was organized under the chairmanship of Rotary Club Rajouri Club President, Rajesh Sharma & besides other members, the function was joined by Club Secretary, Dr. Sachin Vaid.
    On this occasion, the club distributed essential items, including Tiffin boxes, pens, pencils, sanitary pads, stationery items for use in schools, eatables, bath soap, laundry detergent powder etc to 23 girl students and 3 infants living in Parisha.
    On this occasion, Rotarian Retired Lecturer, Rafiq Mir also presented a cash amount of Rs 5000 and also offered them free tuition every week.
    Meanwhile, Rotarian Dr. Vidushi Badyal gave a lecture about sanitary hygiene and cleanliness and also made them aware of other issues.
    Rotary Club Rajouri Grand members also assured to repair the damaged computer in Nari Niketan and provide other help to the inmates of Nari Niketan.
    Club President, Rajesh Sharma told that the club has also asked the girl students and the superintendent of Nari Niketan to make a list of all such items which are necessary for inmates, but are not available in the center so that those essential items can be provided to them.
    On this occasion, the Chartered Head of the Club Lokesh Bakshi, Rotarian Rakesh Gupta, Rotarian Amardeep Singh, Rotarian Ankur Gupta, Rotarian Anita Gupta etc were also present.

    RAJOURI JULY 25 :–In a first-of-its-kind initiative, Directorate of Samagra Shiksha (SS), J&K has decided to distribute ‘aids & appliances’ among the Children with Special Needs (CWSN) in all the districts of Union Territory of J&K in collaboration with Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation of India (ALIMCO).
    The first such distribution camp was organised on Tuesday at the government higher secondary school (HSS) at Kothibagh which was inaugurated by Project Director (PD) Samagra Shiksha, Deep Raj in the presence of Chief Education Officer (CEO), Srinagar, Shabir Hussain; Deputy CEO, Anjum Raja’ Principal, Mrs. Nusrat Bukhari; Assistant Coordinator, Imran Bukhari, &other senior officers/officials.
    “To ensure equitable and inclusive education in line with the NEP-2020, Samagra Shiksha under the aegis of the School Education Department is working tirelessly for providing quality education to Children with Special Needs,” said Deep Raj.
    “21000 Children with Special Needs have been identified in 188 camps organised in all the districts during 2022-23, out of which 18660 students have been enrolled in various schools across the UT of J&K,” he said.
    4990 CWSNs will be empowered with different aids & appliances and the distribution has been started in 5 districts of Kashmir Division (Anantnag, Budgam, Ganderbal, Kulgam, Pulwama, Srinagar, and in the remaining five districts the same will be started by tomorrow, informed Deep Raj.
    “In Jammu Division, the distribution camps shall be organised between August 2 & 14” he added.
    Project Director Samagra Shikha, Deep Raj also interacted with CWSN. He highlighted the working of SS and said: “Every year Rs1.70 Crores is provided to CWSN as stipend. Braille Books, free uniforms and free textbooks are also provided to the children in various schools across the UT”.
    He informed that Principal Secretary School Education Department (SED), Alok Kumar treats Specially Abled Children as Specially Talented Children who are gifted with all potentials, skills, and ways to perform not only in their schools but also on the stage.
    “SED is always standing with the CWSN and for which necessary upgradation of Infrastructure like Ramps and CWSN toilets (specially designed) are made available in various schools. More than 400 CWSN toilets have been constructed and 44 resource rooms are functional,” said Deep Raj.
    He also appreciated the efforts of the State Coordinator Vijay Sharma; CEO; Principal GHSS, Kothibagh; Assistant Coordinator; special educators/ resource persons, and representatives from ALIMCO foundation for working for the welfare of CWSN.
    During the first day of the event, 70 ‘differently abled children’ were provided relevant aids and appliances as per need already assessed by a team of professionals and experts from ALIMCO.
    The aids and appliances include tricycle conventional, folding wheelchairs (child size), folding wheelchairs folding (adult size), CP chairs, MR kits, digital type hearing aids, Brail kits, Sugumya cane, daisy player, crutch elbow adjustable, rollators size 1 and 2, AFO II and III, KAFO I and II and other appliances for visually impaired students.

    RAJOURI JULY 25:–The Jammu and Kashmir police in Rajouri district arrested the fourth member of burglars gang who was evading his arrest after arrest of his other three accused.

    The accused arrested now is identified as
    Ashfaq Ahmed son of Zaffer Iqbal resident of Naika Panjgrian of Manjakote tehsil.

    He has been arrested by police team of Kandi police station headed by SHO Kandi Shakil Manhas.

    Police team has also recovered stolen amount of rupees 3337 stolen from Shiv Mandir Kotranka and a shop in intervening night of 04th and 05th July have been recovered.

    Cases in FIR No 71/2023 U/Ss 457/380 IPC and FIR NO 72/2023 U/Ss 457, 380 IPC have already been registered at Police Station Kandi over these thefts.

    Three members of this gang of burglars have already been arrested in these case but this fourth accused was evading his arrest.

    Police team worked tirelessly to gather evidence and tracked down the suspects.
