RAJOURI JULY 09:–Ranbir Singh Bali, senior (JKAS) Director of Finance, Forest, Ecology and Environment Department, his wife and son died and his daughter was injured after a vehicle they were travelling in fell into gorge near Pannar bridge along Mughal road on Sunday.the accident took place at 1940 hours when a swift car (JK02BD -4635) on way to Surankote from Kashmir Valley via Mughal road. Three among those travelling in the car died on the spot and another was injured and evacuated to nearby hospital by rescuers including locals and police.

The deceased have been identified as Ranbir Singh Bali (Director of Finance, Forest, Ecology and Environment Department), his wife Parvinder Kour and son Irvan Singh. Condition of his daughter Mahreen Kour is stated to be out of danger. So far, they said, body of Parvinder Kour has been retrieved, they said.

BUDHAL JULY 09:–Senior PDP Leader and Sarpanch Gram Panchayat Kewal Mohammad Farooq Inqlabi today organized an Eid Milan Party at his residence to mark India’s unity among diversity during the festivities.

The event was attended by many top dignitaries and respected personalities of Hindu and Muslim communities. Farooq Inqlabi welcomed the guests and said that they are traditionally organizing Eid Milan functions year after year.

The reason for the yearly hosting of such events was highlighted by Farooq Inqlabi who said that we are honored citizen of that country, in which Hindu, Muslim, Sikh, Christian live together and celebrate not only Eid but all festivities together.
Farooq Inqlabi said “Our country is very large and every person gives respect to all religions.

Senior citizens Dharam Singh and Wakeel Chand said, “Today, though they were busy. They canceled their activities to attend this Eid Milan Party, and are very happy to attend this party because it is well organized, enjoyable and a message for every Indian citizen to maintain communal brotherhood.

Ashok Kumar said, “I have been deeply watching Farooq Inqlabi & his team practice community services for 5 years. I personally like their efforts and I attend all his programs like National Days and Eid Milan parties which are always successful.

Social Activist Ranjeet Singh Thakur said, “Our country is very big and great and in our country everyone celebrates Eid and other festivals together, and that’s reflected here too.” He said we are doing lot of work for the betterment of our people.

Delicious lunch was served during this Eid Milan Party and finally Farooq Inqlabi thanked all for accepting his request to attend Eid Milan Party.

RAJOURI, JULY 08:–In three separate tragic incidents, two soldiers were swept away by flash floods while crossing a stream in the Poshana area of Surankote of Poonch district, while two persons working as daily wagers with PDD were killed due to electric shock while repairing a faulty line/transformer in Rajouri & Poonch districts.
Sources said that while on official duty at about 2 pm on Saturday, two soldiers were crossing a stream between Poshana & Dogra along the Mughal Road in Surankote area of Poonch district.
Before the soldiers could cross the stream, they were swept away by flash floods triggered by torrential rains on the higher reaches of Pir Panjal range.
Immediately after the incident, Army, SDRF & Police along with local youths launched a massive search operation from Poshana to Bafliaz to trace the missing soldiers.
Sources said that in the late evening hours, youths of the area traced & retrieved the body of one of the drowned soldiers at Shikar Gah location (Dogra) by putting their lives at risk.
The search for the second soldier was continued at the time of filing this report.
Reliable sources said that martyr soldiers have been identified as Naib Subedar Kuldeep and Sepoy Telu Ram while the official confirmation is still awaited.
In another tragic incident, the sole bread-earner of a poor family and working as a daily wager with the Power Development Department (PDD) died due to an electric shock while repairing an HT line in Manyal village in Thanamandi tehsil of Rajouri district.
The deceased has been identified as Jahangeer Khan (34) s/o Abdul Aziz resident of village Amzatabad.
Family members & villagers alleged that Jahangeer died due to negligence of the concerned PDD employees who switch-on the power supply without green-signal from the deceased who was repairing faulty HT line.
Jahangeer was rushed to the hospital where doctors declared him brought dead.
Family members and the villagers have demanded stringent action against those responsible for the incident and also demanded suitable compensation for the family.
The police have taken cognizance of the incident and after the legal formalities reportedly have started an investigation.
In the third incident a man working with PDD namely Wajid Qureshi S/O Nawaz Ahmed resident of village Daraba (Surnakote) also died due to electric shock while repairing a defective Transformer.
In this connection a case FIR has been registered at the Surankote police station and those responsible for the incident shall be booked under relevant sections of the law.
Meanwhile, the family and the villagers have demanded a thorough investigation against the department and also demanded suitable ex-gratia relief for the next of kin of the deceased.
