    RAJOURI, JUNE 23:–Four members of the families of the Dhangri massacre of Rajouri district, in which 2 minor cousins were among 7 civilians killed in terror attacks on January 1 & 2, on Friday met with Home Minister, Amit Shah at Raj Bhawan during his two-day visit to UT of J&K.
    The families are demanding justice for their innocent family members, who become victims of Pakistan-sponsored terrorism, and also expressed their resentment against no action against those who provided logistic support to the perpetrators of the Dhangri terror attack even after 6 months of the incident.
    It is pertinent to mention here that the case was handed over to NIA by the Home Minister and about a week ago, NIA team met with the families of the victims at Rajouri and informed them about the progress in this case.
    On June 13, members of the families of Dhangri victims held a massive protest demanding the identification and arrest of the culprits behind the attack and blocked the Jammu-Poonch highway for about 8 hours.
    Saroj Bala (her two sons were killed in the Dhangri massacre on January 1) gave a fortnight time for identification & action against the facilitators of the terror attack and said: “If failed then they will approach the Prime Minister through proper channels”.
    The members of victims’ families who met the Home Minister today at Jammu include Saroj Bala(who lost her two sons in the terror attack & is the -only survivor in the family); Sushil Kumar & his wife (their 4-year-old son Vihan was killed), and Pawan Kumar (his brother ex-serviceman Satish Kumar was killed).
    Saroj Bala and others, who met the Home Minister, also demanded Narco analysis of 1-2 locals who according to them had helped the terrorists.
    After meeting with the survivors of the Rajouri (Dhangri) terror attacks Union Home Minister in a Tweet said: “Their courage and bravery are India’s pillars of strength in ending the menace of terrorism. I extended my condolences & assured them of government support”.
    According to the victim’s family members, Union Home Minister, Amit Shah assured to visit them in Rajouri in the future & also assure to solve the case at the earliest

    RAJOURI, JUNE 23:–Within a week’s time, alert Indian troops foiled the second major infiltration bid in the Kupwara district )and killed four terrorists in the Kala Jungle area of the Machhal sector on Friday.
    On June 16, five terrorists were eliminated by the alert Indian troops in the Keran sector of the Kupwara district in a foiled infiltration bid.
    Meanwhile, according to unconfirmed reports army foiled another infiltration bid in the Poonch sector at about 10 pm on Friday, and as per initial report one soldier was injured while 2-3 terrorists were in the cordon and at the time of filing this report firefight was going on.
    Defence spokesman said that on the intervening night of June 22 & 23 alert troops of the Indian Army detected suspicious movement in the general area Kala Jungle along the Line of Control in Machhal Sector.
    Ambushes were sited and tracking of the terrorist movement was carried out during the night.
    “At around 4.30 am on Friday, four terrorists were observed crossing the line of control from Pakistan. They were engaged upon coming in effective range by the Ambush parties. Intense firefights ensued, resulting in the elimination of all four terrorists without any harm to own troops,” said Army.
    The recovery of large amount of war-like stores, including substantial narcotics material to be used for terror funding, indicates the vicious plan of Pakistan by utilising the terrorists to derail the existing peace in Kashmir Valley. This successful operation is a big blow to the Narco funding & terror plans of the terrorists,” Army added.
    The recoveries include 9 AK series rifles; 14 magazines, 4 hand grenades, 3 Pistols with 5 magazines, & 55 suspected Narco packets.

    POONCH JUNE 23:–An exhibition hockey match was organised by Sham Lal Hockey Club Poonch in collaboration with District Unit of the JKSC and Department of YSS Poonch

    Match was played between Sham Lal Hockey Club Poonch and Khelo India Hockey Centre Poonch. SLHC won the match by 4-3 goals on the eve of Olympic Day at Sports Stadium Poonch.

    SSP Poonch Vinay Kumar was the chief guest of this Match while Speaking on the occasion He said many players of District Poonch represented at national level tournament and soon players will also represent India in International tournaments . Col Jagdeep Singh Edu. Officer 93 Inf Brigade also motivated the players and assured his full support.

    Chief guest quotes Sports plays a major role in all around development of youth. A special focuss should be given to sports and encourage youngsters to excel in sports, especially from grass root level. so that they can compete at the state level and later at the national level,”

    He lauded management of the club and coaches efforts to promote the sport. He assured the players he will do whatever it takes to provide a platform to the players.

    Chief guest also distributed Certificates to the players who participated in recently concluded 66th National School Games at Gwalior, MP.

    Other prominent who present on the occasion were Col.     JAMMU JUNE 23:- Jammu and Kashmir Border Area Development Conference(JK-BADC), a registered organization working for the welfare of residents of border areas of J & K has expressed serious concern over the poor performance of district Poonch in recently released edition of District Good Governance Index (DGGI), wherein out of 20 districts of J & K, district Poonch attained 2nd last position(19th) just above Reasi.

    Ranking of a district under District Good Governance Index(DGGI) is indicator and parameters to measure the performance of a District with regard to Agriculture & Allied sector, Commerce & Industry, Human Resource Development, Public Health Sectors , Public Infrastructure & Utilities, Social Welfare & Development, Financial Inclusion , Legal & Public Safety , Environment , Citizen-Centric Governance.

    Dr Shazad Ahmed Malik, Chairman of JK_BADC and former Vice Chancellor while giving his reaction over the poor performance of district Poonch in District Good Governance Index of J & K has requested the Deputy Commissioner Poonch to fix responsibility of all the department and officers so that next year border district Poonch brings out some better results and provide better services to its people.

    The BADC Chairman also asked the DC to hold sensitization and capacity building programs for district officers so that they also help out in achieving the target of making Poonch a role model for Citizen centric Governance. The former VC also offered all the help of his organization to district administration Poonch to hold any training and capacity building program for officers.

    SRINAGAR JUNE 23:–In a world where art is a window to the soul, Snober Jeelani Shah, a 25-year-old professional artist hailing from the Srinagar district of Jammu and Kashmir, has emerged as a beacon of creativity and self-expression.

    With her undeniable talent and unwavering dedication, Snober has established herself as a rising star in the art community, captivating audiences with her thought-provoking works that delve deep into the realms of introspection. Snober’s artistic journey began in 2018, but her passion for art dates back much further. After completing her Bachelor’s degree in visual arts from the University of Kashmir in 2022, she embarked on a path to showcase her unique perspective through various platforms.

    Notably, Snober participated in the prestigious Students Kochi Biennale 2021-22, under the guidance and curation of the esteemed Vasuda Thozur. This experience served as a pivotal moment in her career, allowing her to connect with fellow artists and expand her artistic horizons.

    Reflecting on this opportunity, Snober said, “Participating in the Students Kochi Biennale was a transformative experience for me. It opened doors to new artistic possibilities and allowed me to interact with artists from diverse backgrounds, enriching my artistic journey.”

    Acknowledging the importance of continuous learning, Snober actively sought opportunities to refine her skills.

    She attended a workshop organized by CP Krishnapriya at Kashmir University, which provided her with valuable insights and inspiration.

    Additionally, she participated in an online workshop led by Sujit Malik in 2020, further enriching her artistic repertoire.

    Talking about the impact of these workshops, Snober said, “Attending workshops has been instrumental in honing my artistic skills and expanding my creative vision. I am grateful for the valuable lessons and techniques I have learned, which have shaped my artistic journey.”

    For Snober, art is more than just a visual medium; it is a profound form of introspection.

    “Art allows me to explore the depths of my thoughts and emotions, giving voice to the unspoken and unveiling hidden truths. It serves as a means of self-reflection, enabling me to better understand myself and the world around me,” she said.

    This introspective approach is evident in her artwork, which resonates with viewers on a deeper level, evoking a range of emotions and inviting introspection.

    Throughout her journey, Snober credits her support system for fueling her passion. She expresses deep gratitude towards her friends, teachers, and family, who have always stood by her side.

    However, Snober says that her mentor Showkat Kathjoo has played a vital role in shaping her artistic identity.

    Speaking fondly of her mentor, Showkat Kathjoo, she said, “Mr Kathjoo has been my guiding light, constantly pushing me to challenge my boundaries and explore new artistic avenues. His unwavering belief in my abilities has been an endless source of inspiration.”

    The guidance and encouragement from her mentor have been pivotal in Snober’s artistic growth and development.

    Drawing inspiration from surrealist artists, Snober’s work showcases a unique blend of imagination and reality. She seamlessly combines elements from her surroundings with abstract concepts, creating captivating visual narratives that stimulate the viewer’s imagination.

    Explaining her artistic approach, Snober says, “Surrealist artists have had a profound impact on my work. Their ability to merge the ordinary with the extraordinary has inspired me to explore the limitless possibilities of artistic expression.”

    Snober’s talent has garnered recognition, with her participation in notable exhibitions, such as the Yuva Sambhava by the Raza Foundation in 2022 and her involvement in the Students Kochi Biennale 2021. These exhibitions have provided Snober with a platform to showcase her unique artistic voice and connect with art enthusiasts worldwide.

    Sharing her exhibition experiences, Snober shares, “Being part of these exhibitions has been a tremendous honour. It has given me the opportunity to share my artwork with a wider audience and receive valuable feedback that encourages me to continue pushing the boundaries of my artistic practice.”

    Her commitment to art extends beyond exhibitions, as she actively participates in national and local camps. In March 2023, she attended VITASTA, a 7-day installation camp organized by the Lalit Kala Academy in Pune, where she further honed her skills and collaborated with fellow artists.

    “Participating in VITASTA was an immersive experience that allowed me to immerse myself in art and connect with artists who share the same passion. It was a transformative journey of creative exploration and self-discovery,” she said.

    Most recently, Snober enthusiastically participated in a 7-day camp at Pahalgam, organized by the Sansar Chand Baru Memorial Trust, named Kavya Bhoomi, in June 2023.

    Talking about the same, Snober said, “The camp at Pahalgam provided me with a serene and picturesque backdrop to delve deeper into my artistic process. It was a wonderful opportunity to connect with nature, and fellow artists, and create art that reflects the essence of the beautiful Kashmiri landscape.”

    Through her thought-provoking works and relentless pursuit of artistic growth, Snober reminds us that art has the capacity to transcend boundaries, bridge gaps, and ignite a fire within each of us.

    “Art is a language that speaks to the core of our being. I strive to create art that resonates with people on a deeper level, igniting emotions and sparking conversations. My ultimate goal is to touch hearts, inspire minds, and leave a lasting impact through my art,” Snober said.
