    Rajouri police detained notorious criminal under Public Safety Act (PSA)

    RAJOURI, JUNE 01:–District Rajouri police on Thursday unader the order of the District Magistrate, Vikas Kundal detained one notorious offender/criminal/burglar under the Public Safety Act (PSA) namely Mohd Ashraf Khan son of Mohd Hussain resident of Kakora in tehsil Manjakote presently living in village Nerojal tehsil Thanamandi.

    Since 2017 the notorious criminal Mohd Ashraf has been booked in 9 criminal cases registered against him at various police stations, including bus stand Jammu; Akhnoor (Jammu); Thanamandi; Gandhi Nagar & Trikuta Nagar Jammu; & police station Rajouri.

    The important offences under which Mohd Ashraf was booked at various police stations are 307 (attempt to murder), 376 (sexual assault), 382 (snatching),380 ( theft in any building),353 (assault to deter public servant from discharge of his duty),& 332 (voluntarily causing hurt to deter public servant from his duty) RPC/IPC.

    The police said that during these couple of years, he always managed bail from the Court of Law. He is repeatedly engaged in anti-social activities including habitual of theft/burglary/criminal activities which is prejudicial to the maintenance of public order and posed a serious threat to safety/security of lives & property of citizens particularly in district Rajouri/Jammu.

    The accused is a notorious fellow and a chronic offender who used to commit a number of criminal incidents of snatching & burglaries from innocent people in the past to meet his bad habits.

    The execution warrant was meticulously executed by Inspector Azhar Hilal (SHO PS Thanamandi), PSI Mann Singh, I/C PP Chingus, and his team under the supervision of Imtiaz Ahmed, JKPS, SDPO Thanamandi and overall supervision of Amritpal Singh IPS, SSP Rajouri.

    SSP said that “District Police is committed to serving the general public up to their desires to ensure a sense of security among them and to maintain peace in the district. In the future more action would be initiated against such anti-social elements which endanger the safety and security of peace-loving citizens,” said SSP.

    RAJOURI, JUNE 01:–Thirty-five ‘Aapda Mitras’, who were provided rigorous training in disaster management and rescue operations, were provided rescue kits by Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Vikas Kundal here in the District Administrative Complex on Thursday.
    The trained volunteers were provided the necessary tools to effectively respond to emergency situations and provide timely assistance to the community.
    “The ‘Aapda Mitras’, have undergone rigorous training in disaster management and rescue operations and play a pivotal role in safeguarding the lives and property of the residents during times of crisis,” the DC said.
    The rescue kits, comprising essential equipment and supplies, including first aid kit, searchlight, ropes, helmets, and communication devices, will enable them to perform their duties more efficiently and effectively.
    Deputy Commissioner expressed his appreciation for the dedication and commitment shown by the ‘Aapda Mitras’ in serving the community.
    He emphasised the importance of their role in mitigating the impact of disasters and ensuring the safety and well-being of the residents of Rajouri.
    The distribution of the rescue kits marks a significant milestone in the district’s efforts to enhance disaster response capabilities. It reinforces the administration’s commitment to building a resilient community by equipping trained individuals with the necessary resources to act promptly in times of need.
    Vikas Kundal also encouraged other community members to come forward and participate in similar training programs to strengthen the district’s disaster management framework. He reiterated the importance of community participation and collaborative efforts in effectively addressing emergency situations and minimising the loss of life and property.
    The kits include a personal flotation device, safety gloves, a pocket knife, a first aid kit, a gas lighter, a uniform, GUM boots, safety goggles, safety helmets, and a torch (an emergency light).
    The Aapda Mitras were also provided with certificates and identity cards during a formal display ceremony.

    LEH LADAKH JUNE 01 :—Ladakh is a land of warriors that has produced legends like Col Chhewang Rinchen MVC**, SM. He was awarded the MVC, the second highest gallantry award of the country, at a young age of 17 when he had not even donned his uniform.
    LADAKH SCOUTS has always been an integral part of Ladakh. When Pakistan attempted to annex Gilgit in 1948 and threatened Ladakh, the locals from Nubra, Shyok and Indus valley came forward to protect their motherland. They formed the gallant force ‘NUBRA GUARDS’ that faced insurmountable odds and held back the adversary at bay for 53 days.
    The NUBRA GUARDS was reorganised into the 7th J&K MILITIA. Additionally on 02 May 1959, the 14th J&K MILITIA was raised in Srinagar. Both Militia Battalions bravely faced the Chinese in 1962. Post war, both Battalions were amalgamated on 01 Jun 1963 and THE LADAKH SCOUTS was born. The LADAKH SCOUTS has proved its mettle time and again in numerous conflicts and wars and has carved a niche for itself in the annals of History of being the most decorated Regt of the Indian Army with the youngest legacy.
    LADAKH SCOUTS plays a pivotal role in the welfare and development of the region. The Ladakhi community has a deep emotional connect with LADAKH SCOUTS. During the tragic demise of one of the Regiments Bravehearts, the civil community came together in thousands to pay respects to the deceased and supported the family. This gesture speaks volumes of the relation of the people with LADAKH SCOUTS. The civil administration and populace also gave their unwavering support and assistance towards the grand and successful conduct of the Run up events of the Diamond Jubilee Celebrations of the Regiment throughout the year.
    The Regiment has also significantly assisted the administration and civil populace in enhancing the capabilities of the local populace through numerous initiatives focused on skill development, education, healthcare services and infrastructure development in remotest parts through Sadbhavana Projects. The Regiment has always made concerted efforts to safeguard and uplift the region and the population, be it during times of natural calamities through efficient disaster management or connecting the remotest parts of the region to the mainstream society.
    Besides enhancing connectivity to the hinterland, the Regiment has also been instrumental in boosting the economy of the Region. The veterans of the Regiment continue to work for the upliftment of the community, taking up employment in various Govt & private enterprises. Cultural exchanges and interactions are organised for the children of the region as also Veer Naris in different parts of the country.
    LADAKH SCOUTS has played a major role in all conflicts & wars fought after independence. The warriors of LADAKH SCOUTS have been awarded with One Ashok Chakra, 10 Maha Vir Chakras, Two Kirti Chakras, 26 Veer Chakras, Six Shaurya Chakras and 79 Sena Medals. These awards stand testimony to the bravery and valour of the gallant soldiers of Ladakh.
    THE LADAKH SCOUTS Regiment celebrated its Diamond Jubilee on 01 Jun 2023. The Regiment commemorated this momentous occasion with a series of grand events and paid heartfelt tributes to its heroes. The Diamond Jubilee of LADAKH SCOUTS was celebrated over a period of two days ie 31 May & 01 Jun 23, highlighting the Regiment’s rich heritage, glorious traditions and remarkable achievements.
    The celebrations included a Bike Rally that started from The National War Memorial at New Delhi and culminated at Ladakh Scouts Regimental Centre on 01 Jun 2023. As part of the celebrations a Mountain Expedition was also flagged off to summit Mount Chong Kumdang Ri exceeding an altitude of 7000 meters . To pay tribute to the fallen heroes of the Regiment ,Eternal Flames from War Memorials located at Kargil, Siachen and Rezang La were brought together at Leh on 01 Jun 2023 and were merged at the War Memorial located at Ladakh Scouts Regimental Centre.
    The Regiment paid homage to its martyrs at the Regiment’s sacred War Memorial followed by Tree Plantation at SPAWO CHAS, aptly translated versions of ‘Garden for the Braves’ in Ladakhi language where trees were planted by the Veer Naari, families of the fallen heroes and serving and retired fraternity of the Regiment.

    Lt Gen Upendra Dwivedi, AVSM, General Officer Commanding in Chief, Northern Command, who is also the Colonel of the Regiment of LADAKH SCOUTS attended the Diamond Jubilee. Celebrations. This momentous occasion was also graced by the presence of a large number of veterans including two Ex Colonels of the Regiment, one of whom retired as the Adjutant General and the other as Deputy Chief of the Army Staff of the Indian Army, at the pinnacle of their illustrious career.
    The Diamond Jubilee celebrations of the LADAKH SCOUTS holds immense significance, not only as a moment of pride for the Regiment but also as an occasion for the entire community to come together for honouring the dedication and services of these ‘Sons of Soil’, paying tribute to the Regiment’s legacy and create memories that would be cherished for generations to come.

    RAJOURI JUNE 01:–In a major success, Jammu and Kashmir police in Rajouri have arrested two Punjab based peddlers while busting an inter-state narcotics peddling racket recovering around twenty two kilograms Heroine like substance having high monetary value in market.

    The arrest has been made in Sunderbani area of Rajouri district with investigation into forward and backward linkages of the case has been set into motion.

    Senior Superintendent of Police Rajouri, Amritpal Singh (IPS) said that a
    specific intelligence input was received by police that two suspects are in transit from Rajouri towards Jammu in a vehicle in late evening hours on Wednesday and acting swiftly over it, police teams were put on alert across the district and existing nakas were strengthened to intercept them while some mobile MCVPs were also established.

    SSP further said that on Wednesday at around 09:30 PM, a vehicle bearing registration number JK01AB 5470 was intercepted at Jammu Rajouri Poonch national highway at police naka near ITI Sunderbani.

    Two Punjab based person were travelling in the car which was put to frisking during which a large quantity of Heroine like substance was recovered which is approximately 22 Kilograms.

    This huge consignment has been recovered from possession of these two person who have been identified as Onkar Singh son of Karam Singh resident of village Talmandi Barth, District Gurdaspur Punjab and Shamsher Singh son of Nirmal Singh resident of Village Barthmal Tehsil Gurdaspur Punjab.

    Rajouri’s SSP Amritpal Singh IPS further informed that both the accused have been arrested with a case in FIR 42/2023 U/Ss 8/21/22/25/27A/29/60 NDPS Act has been registered at Police station Sunderbani.

    He added, ” Further investigation into the matter is going on and all the forward and backward linkages are being traced with more arrests in the case are expected during the course of investigation.”

    SSP Rajouri also termed this as a major success for police on anti narcotics front stating that narco-terror aspect of this recovery is also being probed.

    The arrest of these two peddlers has been made by a police team headed by SHO Sunderbani Deepak Pathania under the supervision of SDPO Nowshera Tusif Ahmed and Additional SP Nowshera Mohd Rafi Giri.

    KUPWARA JUNE 01:– Krishi Vigyan Kendra Kupwara, today celebrated World Milk Day with a Theme “Enjoy Dairy”BUT FEED THEM WELL” The programme was organized by the team of scientist of KVK Kupwara which was headed by Dr Qaiser Mouhidin PC KVK Kupwara, On this occasion Progressive Dairy farmers from district Kupwara/Handwara participated in the programme.

    Dr Firdous Ah Raina , Senior Scientist KVK Kupwara welcomed the participants.

    Dr Nazir Ah Bumla Scientist KVK Kupwara highlighted the importance of the day and explained the role of milk in nutritional security and providing employment and sustainability to the rural households.

    During interaction, participants asked queries related to starting small scale dairy farming, FMD problem and vaccination in cattle, feeding management for increasing milk production, clean milk production, internal and external parasites of livestock in general and diary animals in particular, issues related to AI, milk production enhancement and other problems in dairying and milk production which were replied by Dr Nazir Ahmad Bumla.

    Dr Rayees Ah Bhat, Senior Scientist KVK Kupwara thanked the participants and also highlighted the importance of the day and explained the role of milk in nutritional security and providing employment and sustainability to the rural households.

    Dr Shahid Hakeem Scientists KVK Kupwara said that World Milk Day will focus on showcasing how dairy is reducing its environmental footprint, while also providing nutritious foods and livelihoods. Together, will drive an active narrative that integrates the environmental, nutritional and societal impacts of the sector. on the importance of dairy in the reduction of carbon footprints as well as providing nutritious foods and livelihoods.

    BDC Chairman Kupwara Mrs Hassena, Mr Ab Ahad Shahilal A, and Many PRI Members along Mohd Ramzan Ganie, Mushtaq Ah Magray , Bilqeesa Akhter, Pakeeza Akther, Majeed Saleem Bhat, and many other farmers attended the programme along all staff of KVK Kupwara were present during this program.

    RAJOURI MAY 31:—The education of students is being affected in Chassana zone of Mahore sub-division of Reasi district under the administration of Jammu and Kashmir.According to the details received by the GNS ONLINE correspondent from the local residents, the students are helplessly and the parents are much worried. The students are not able to sit in the schools. The education department is in deep slumber. Primary School Chatti Batti was established in the year 2009 in Tuli Lower A area, the building of the said school is unsafe, 21 Innocent children’s are studying in school. Children’s education is affected due to chatti Batti building being declared unsafe from two years ago.
    The people’s of the area say that for the past two years, they have brought to the notice of the higher authorities of the education department several times that the primary school building in Chassana zone should be repaired, but the education department have not paid attention to it. Due to this, the problems of the students studying in the school and the appointed teachers are increasing day by day. The Education Department is not paying any attention to this despite being told several times over the years. The school building is in a dilapidated condition.

    Due to which students study in school under open sky. Residents say that the basic facilities for the students were not available in the school but now the situation has worsened due to the unsafe condition of the school building chatti batti. He said that when the rainy season starts in the area, the education system of the students deteriorates.

    In the same zone the school building established in 1991 is also dilapidated. More than 200 students studying in Government Middle School Mohra Mall are helpless and helpless, forced to study under the open sky. The future of the children is sinking into darkness. Residents said in remote areas jammu kashmir administration. It has completely failed to improve education system.

    The roof of the Government Middle School Mohra Mall building was paralyzed in 2021 due to torrential rains and strong winds and the building could not be repaired till date. local peoples said Big claims are being made by the administration about the better quality of the education system, while the education system in remote and backward areas is in a dilapidated condition and the Jammu and Kashmir administration is playing with the future of our children. Local people’s told compared to education, our children are helpless and helpless to complete their education.

    The residents of Tuli area have demanded the Jammu and Kashmir LG administration and District Development Commissioner Riasi to issue instructions to the concerned officials of the Education Department to repair the said school buildings as soon as possible to save the future of our children from drowning.“`
