    RAJOURI, MAY 26:–Faculty members of Government Medical College & Associated Hospital (GMC&AH) Rajouri in a meeting held here at the GMC constituted an Adhoc body, namely Medical Faculty Forum (MFF), for the smooth functioning of the Government Medical College and the hospital.

    Dr. Jamil-Ul-Hussain, Associate Professor and Head Department of Medicine will head the MFF while other office bearers include Dr. Zakir Hussain & Dr. Suhail Banday (Vice-Presidents); Dr. Barinder Kumar (General Secretary), Dr. Vidushi Badyal (Joint Secretary), Dr. Meenakshi Khajuria (spokesperson), Dr. Mushtaq Chowdhary (Treasurer), & Dr. Iram Yasmeen (Women Representative).

    The main aim behind the constitution of the Medical Faculty Forum is to smooth line the working of the Government Medical College and the Hospital and for the redressal of issues of the faculty members.
    “The MMF will work in coordination with the Administration of GMC&AH” said an office bearer.

    RAJOURI, MAY 26:–District Magistrate Rajouri, Vikas Kundal on Friday presided the 11th meeting of the District-Level Narco Coordination Centre (NCORD) Committee focused on addressing the critical issue of drug abuse and trafficking in the district.
    Key stakeholders and departmental representatives were present to discuss and devise strategies to combat the menace.

    The District Social Welfare Officer, Wakeel Ahmed Bhat, provided a comprehensive update on the progress made regarding the action on the previous decisions, including installations of CCTV cameras at 535 medical stores to keep a check on the counter sale of banned drugs.

    The District Magistrate stressed the enforcement of CCTVs at all medical stores and directed the concerned authorities to ensure compliance.
    District Magistrate, Vikas Kundal also urged the Assistant DMs to take immediate steps to declare four Panchayats per sub-division as drug-free.

    “This initiative aims to create drug-free zones at the grassroots level, thereby safeguarding the community from the ill effects of drug abuse,” said the DM.
    “Initiate mass awareness campaigns in schools, colleges, and public spaces by involving Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs), students, & locals to spread awareness about the threats of drug abuse”” said Vikas Kundal.

    He urged the Education Department to prioritise anti-drug abuse awareness in all educational institutions & also emphasised the need for seamless coordination among the health, police, and social welfare departments to keep a check on the perpetrators.

    “The collaboration will facilitate the sharing of crucial information regarding drug addicts, enabling their timely rehabilitation and support,’ he said.

    SSP, Amrit Pal Singh, highlighted the importance of reporting any instance of drug trafficking or related activities & urged the officers and individuals involved to promptly share the information they may come across, contributing to the collective efforts against drug proliferation.
    Maintaining strict vigilance against drug-related offences was also emphasised, along with intensified awareness campaigns to deter individuals from falling victim to addictive substances.

    The District Magistrate, SSP, and other officials reiterated their commitment to combating the drug menace and safeguarding the well-being of the community.

    POONCH MAY 26:–Department of Youth services and Sports zone NANGALI today organise under 14 and 17 Girls inter school competitions in Kho Kho ,Chess , Carrom, Kabaddi ,Volleyball and badminton here at GHSS Chandak .

    In the competition 350 young budding Girls of different schools of Zone Nangali took part in this competition which held under the direction of District youth services and Sports officer Poonch Mohd Qasim and under the Supervision of Jatinder Singh ZPEO Poonch.

    Vice Principal Govt.Higher secondary school Chandak Mr.Nazarat was the chief Guest of the opening ceremony function. The chief Guest met with all the Participants and also congratulate the department of Youth services and Sports for giving excellent platform to the youth of Nangali by organising these kind of events. On the occasion Jatinder Singh ZPEO advised to all the participants to play the game with true sporting spirit and  your best win or lose didn’t matter the thing matter is to participate in the game with true sporting spirit he added.

    All matches were officiated by Technical Pannel consisting of PEM,PET ,REK of Department of Youth services and Sports
    the function was presented by Rajesh Tandon Physical Education Lecturer..

    Prominent others were present were Davinder Singh PEM,Ved Prakash PEM. all the PET’s and Rebre khel Teachers of the department.

    In kho kho, GHS Bandechechian was the Winner in both groups,In kabaddi GHS Chandak was Winner in both groups and  In Carrom , under 14 GHS Chandak beat GMS Bandechechian,In under 17 GHS Chandak beat HS Dingla.In badminton,under 14 Ms CHAKTROO beats Ms bela Janyar and under 17 HS Bandechechian beats GHS Chandak..

    LANGATE MAY 26 :–Govt Boys Higher Secondary School Unisoo Langate on Friday held a Parent Teacher Meeting (PTM) in the school Interaction Hall.

    On the occasion, the parents were briefed on the progress of their wards and their overall development. Principal said the PTM intends to help parents to aid their children in a better way and to equip the parents about the different aspects which can help a child to attain maximum confidence without any stress and comparison in getting along with the daily course of life.

    In the meeting various Moral, Academic, behavioral and social dimensions were discussed by the speakers in the light of Holy Scriptures. Chairman BDC Langate Showket Hassan Pandith Was chief Guest on this occasion he was along with Sarpanch Unisoo Irshad Hussain and Others.

    The speakers include BDC Showket Hassan Pandith & the Principal of the school Mohammad Javid Ahamd, Firdous Ahmad, Mohd Rafi Bhat, Irfan Ah Dar and Mohd Shafi Bhat who also hosted the programme.

    The future lineup with the focus on holistic development of the students remained the main agenda of the meeting. The students and parents were also given the opportunity to present their views and express their grievances.

    The meeting concluded after taking the suggestions from the parents for betterment of the school. The parents felt satisfied and suggested to continue with such initiatives of holding Parent teachers meetings regularly.

    Twenty animals rescued as police foils bovine smuggling bid in Rajouri

    RAJOURI MAY 26:–Police in Rajouri rescued twenty animals and seized two animals while foiling a bovine smuggling bid in Chatyari area of Rajouri.

    In its statement, police said that in the wee morning hours on Friday,
    two goods carrier vehicles coming from Nowshera towards Rajouri via link road Chatyari were intercepted at Sawni by police party of Police Post Chingus.

    The police party signalled to stop the vehicle for checking but the drivers of the both vehicles fled away from the spot leaving behind the vehicles.

    On checking the two vehicles, JK11E 5172 was found loaded with 11 bovine animals while vehicle bearing JK11D-8193 was found loaded with 09 bovine animals.

    Both the vehicles have been seized and animals rescued with cognizance of the matter has been taken in local police station.

    The police team that intercepted the vehicle was headed by Incharge Police Post Chingus, PSI Maan Singh udner the supervision of SHO Rajouri Mohd Showket Chowdhary and Deputy SP Headquarter Mudassir Hussain
