    RAJOURI, MARCH 19:–During his visit to Rajouri district Principal Secretary to Government Skill Development Department (SDD) J&K, Dr. Asgar Hassan Samoon along with Sudershan Kumar (JKAS), Director SDD, and Er. G.M Bhat, Joint Director SDD visited the Polytechnic Institute of Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University (BGSBU) & Government ITI at Nowshera.

    The main purpose of his visit was to see the overall functioning of both the institutions and the facilities over there.
    At BGSBU Polytechnic, Dr. Asgar interacted with the students and faculty and expressed his deep sense of happiness, and shared his insights and experiences on various topics related to education, technology, and innovation.He emphasized the importance of developing practical skills and encouraged students to take advantage of the numerous opportunities available to them to enhance their learning and personal development.

    Dr. Asgar Samoon, accompanied by his team and the Director Skill Development Department, Sudhershan Sharma, assured students about all possible help in taking the University Polytechnic to the level of excellence.
    He also emphasized that BGSBU shall provide mentoring to all the ITIs and Polytechnics situated in the twin districts of Rajouri and Poonch.
    Prof. Akbar Masood, VC, BGSBU extended his heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Samoon for taking the time to visit our institution and shared his valuable insights with our students.
    There were some pending issues and after deliberating on them, Dr. Asgar Samoon in principle agreed to resolve them.
    The function was attended by Registrar BGSBU, Mohd Ishaq; Er. Malik Mubasher Hassan (Principal), B.L Koul (Executive Engineer), Mohd Qasim (Joint Registrar), and various officers of the University.
    At Government ITI Nowshera, Dr. Asgar Samoon inaugurated ‘Workshop Block’ and also interacted with trainees and members of PanchyatI Raj Institutions (PRIs).
    On this occasion Er. Niyaz Ahmed, Superintendent ITI Nowshera welcomed all the dignitaries and participants present in the event in his welcome address.
    Narinder Sharma, Chairman Municipality Nowshera demanded for hostel and crate bund protection for ITI.
    Director Skill Development, Sudershan Kumar in his address appraise about achievements of ITI Nowshera and different trades and schemes functioning at this institute.
    Speaking on the occasion the Principal Secretary to the Government Dr. Asgar Hassan Samoon (IAS) said that the “Workshop block shall be utilized for imparting training, especially among unemployed youth of the local area so that they may be able to get employment. Female trainees must make them self-employed so that they may feel independent and support their families” said Dr. Asgar Samoon.
    The department will indulge full cooperation and efforts to modernize the infrastructure/machinery/ workshops of ITI’s of J&K, he added.
    Dr. Asgar Samoon also announces providing a hostel to this institute and the latest tools and machinery for modernizing of trades.
    On this occasion, trainees performed cultural activities and the program was concluded with a group dance by the trainees of ITI Nowshera.

    RAJOURI, MARCH 19:–A special camp for displaced persons from Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (POJK) was held at Lamberi in Rajouri today. The event was well-attended and received high praise from participants. It provided a platform for addressing grievances and allowed displaced persons to register for various government schemes including skill development, self-employment, social assistance, studies, sports and financial inclusion.

    Deputy Commissioner, Vikas Kundal was the chief guest at the event. He toured stalls displaying information about different schemes and instructed officers to disseminate information about them. Kundal emphasised the government’s commitment to providing all possible assistance to POJK displaced persons and assured them that their grievances would be addressed in a timely manner.
    Kundal urged all eligible POJK residents to take advantage of this opportunity and register for government welfare schemes. He also encouraged them to avail themselves of self-employment schemes and participate in skill development activities for livelihood generation. He highlighted the need to empower them economically and socially so that they can become financially independent.

    Later on, the DC distributed sanction letters among beneficiaries of the Prime Minister Employment Guarantee Programme (PMEGP), which will help them set up their own business ventures with financial aid from the government. Beneficiaries expressed appreciation for the government’s initiative in addressing their grievances and providing an opportunity for their issues to be addressed.

    The Deputy Commissioner handed over keys to commercial vehicles to unemployed youth from the displaced community under the Mumkin scheme of Mission Youth.

    Other officials present at the event included ADDC Pawan Kumar, DDC Seri, Sangeeta Sharma, ADC Nowshera, Kartar Singh and ADC Sunderbani, Vinod Kumar Behnal. District and sectoral officers, Sarpanches, Panches and thousands of people also attended.

    KUPWARA MARCH 19:–On 18th of March  on a busy Saturday afternoon, the Indian Army once again showed their compassion for civilian safety when they helped douse flames that had engulfed a residence in Khumriyal Panchayat of the Kalaroos block.

    Quick Reaction Teams along with Fire-fighting Truck of 41 RR launched themselves into action to help firefighters in bringing the blaze under control. With utter disregard for personal safety, one team leaped into the house to retrieve the personal belongings as others joined the fire-fighting operations. Together, they ensured that the adjoining houses were not caught in the fire.

    The army team also undertook relief operations, first aid and provided essential items and tentage to those who had been affected by the fire. The prompt action ensured that there was no loss of life in the incident. The bravery and dedication to duty shown by the troops of 41 RR was highly appreciated by the locals, strengthening the ‘Jawan-Awaam’ connect.

    DODA MARCH 19 :–The inhabitants of Malik Mohalla ward No 5 has demanded link road either to be connected from the Changa Balla road or from the Munshi Mohallah. The fact that in a recent survey the Malik Mohalla Soti Bhalessa in Doda has been denied road connectivity. The road is yet to be surveyed by the concerned R&B Department. The locals has demanded that the area consisting of more then 250 households has been denied link road connectivity. The which may connect the populace of Kemaljaar and Malik Mohalla and its adjoining belts without harming the land owners (as most of the pathways are already paving its way towards Malik Mohalla Soti said locals. The area need to be brought under link road. The locals has
    highly requested to the LG administrator and authorities that sanction may kindly be accorded for formulation of DPR- Detailed Project Report for the same road so that justice is provided to the area which is excluded.


    The locals appealed that the necessary directions be given to the concerned department and its functionaries for the early redressal of the demand of the people. Those who raised the demand included GQ Malik, Firdous Ahmed Malik,
