    Army foils Narco terror nexus in Jhangar Nowshera of Rajouri district

    RAJOURI, MARCH 12:–Alert troops manning the Line of Control in the Jhangar sector in Nowshera sub-division in the Rajouri district in a major achievement has foiled Pakistan- sponsored narco terror nexus and have recovered a consignment of narcotics, pistols and Improvised Explosive Device (IED) weighing about 2 kg.
    It is pertinent to mention here that recently DGP, Dilbag Singh said that money generated from the narcotics trade has returned to Pakistan and subsequently used to fund terror activities in J&K.
    Sources said on the intervening night of March 10 & 11 some movement was noticed in the jhangar sector along the LoC.
    The targeted area was kept under surveillance and during searches on Saturday the Army recovered a sealed packet.
    On the opening of the packet, the army recovered 2 packets of heroin-like substance (2 kg); 2 brand new pistols, and about 2 kg IED, reportedly ready to use.
    PRO (Defence) Jammu, Lt Col Davender Anand said that based on intelligence inputs, Indian Army conducted operations near the Line of Control at Jhangar, Naushera (J&K) on 11 Mar 2023.
    “The Operations led to the recovery of two sophisticated Pistols, two kgs Narcotics and a two kg IED.
    The Operation has averted a major incident which could have been initiated by perpetrators using the weapons and the IED, funded by the narco terrorists, PRO said.”
    On March 3, during a joint search operation by the Poonch police, army & CRPF an input was developed about the presence of narcotics, arms, ammunition and illegal cash in the house of one Mohd Rafi @Rafi Lala son of Sher Mohd in Dhana village, is presently booked under Public Safety Act (PSA) and lodged in district jail Poonch.
    During the house search, carried out in presence of Executive Magistrates 1st Class Mandi, member Pnachayat , Lambardar, & Chowkidaar, forces recovered 7 kg of heroin; one pistol with 10 rounds; one pouch and Rs 2.23 crores and 1500 US Dollars.
    “We are faced with a new challenge where the drugs and weapons are smuggled from Pakistan together. A major part of the drug proceeds (money) are returned to handlers operating from across the border and the rest shared by the peddlers. The weapons are delivered to terrorists,” said DGP.

    Iqbal Malik urged the new entrants and other party workers to go on ground and spread the message of developmental schemes launched by the Government for welfare of the people. He said that awareness about the schemes is the major task before the party workers so that people can take benefit.
    Iqbal Malik said that BJP has emerged as the most popular political party in the country and people have immense hope and expectation from it. All other political parties have been done and dusted as people have realized their treachery and duplicity. These parties only exploited the people while doing nothing for their welfare.
    Iqbal Malik also said that Prime Minister, Narendra Modi led Government has ushered in a new era of development and progress in the country during past 9 years. The country has progressed by leaps and bounds despite the slow down by COVID19 pandemic which was effectively countered by India.
    Iqbal Malik further said that these new entrants are the established leaders who have enough experience of dedicated public life. He expressed his belief that their services will further extend the base of the party into the society.

    KUPWARA MARCH 12:–Indian Army in its continuous efforts in providing skill and entrepreneurship training to aspiring youth of Kupwara district inaugurated the *Chef Training Centre* in collaboration with *India Infoline Finance Ltd (IIFL)*.

    Maj Gen Girish Kalia, VSM, GOC, Vajr Division inaugurated the one of its kind *Chef Training Centre* at Sheikh Ul Alam Complex, Kupwara in the esteemed presence of Commander Hajipir Brigade, *Mr Nirmal Jain*, Chairman of IIFL , *Mrs Madhu Jain*, Director of IIFL and *Mr Nikhil Pant*, CEO REACHA.

    The Chef Training Centre consists of a *Culinary Laboratory* and an *Audio Visual Class Room* wherein trainees undergo the nuances of various aspects of cooking skills and hospitality training.

    GOC appreciated the efforts of IIFL in providing a platform for the trainees and also motivated them to pursue the course with focus and enthusiasm. This is the second skilling initiative by IIFL in Kupwara after their successful launch of Retail Associate Training Course which has trained 60 beneficiaries in two batches out of which 24 have been placed in various retail sectors. The dignitaries interacted with students undergoing retail associate training as well.

    The function included stellar performance by ‘Strings of Baramulla’ Band from Chinar Naujawan Club, Baramulla, which is an initiative of REACHA Foundation. Beneficiaries of retail training were also felicitated with certificates by the dignitaries. The event was indeed a motivating factor for the upcoming chefs who look forward to getting placements in the hospitality industry or to run restaurants/ cafés on their own. These skill development initiatives definitely provide enormous scope for employability in the fast growing hospitality industry in Kashmir as well as India.

    RAJOURI, MARCH 12: District Administration Rajouri organised a special grievance camp for displaced persons of Pakistan Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (POJK) at Doongi, which received a massive turnout of participants. The LG’s Special Grievance Camp aimed to address the issues faced by the displaced from POJK and provide them with necessary support and assistance.
    Deputy Commissioner Rajouri Vikas Kundal, was the chief guest during the event. District officers disseminated information about various government schemes during the camp, and attendees appreciated the efforts of the LG Government for addressing the grievances of the displaced persons.
    Speaking on the occasion, Vikas Kundal, highlighted the objective of the camp and stressed that the government is committed to providing all possible assistance to the displaced persons. He assured them that their grievances would be addressed in a timely manner.
    The LG’s special grievance camp for displaced persons of POJK provided an opportunity for them to voice their concerns and avail of various government schemes, such as skill development, self-employment, social assistance, studies, sports, and financial inclusion.
    The Deputy Commissioner handed over keys of commercial vehicles to unemployed youth belonging to displaced community under the Mumkin scheme of Mission Youth.
