    RAJOURI, FEBRUARY 21:–Residents of Dhangri in Rajouri district on Tuesday postponed their hunger strike, scheduled for February 22, for about one month after SSP Rajouri along with Additional SP visited the Dhangri and interacted with members of victims’ families and other prominent villagers.
    Earlier, the hunger strike was postponed till 22 February from February 20 due to religious rituals of seven persons killed in two terror attacks on January 1 & 2.
    The members of victim’s families and the villagers while expressing their resentment over the failure of security agencies in tracing and killing the two terrorists responsible for the gruesome twin attacks in the village, they decided to go on hunger strike from February 5.

    But, the hunger strike was postponed till February 20 as the residents of Dhangri & victim’s families were of the view that they don’t want to hamper the ongoing investigation by the NIA teams.
    In Monday’s meeting, the villagers decided to go with their proposed hunger strike program from February 22 with intimation to district Civil/police authorities in writing.
    But before their deputation could leave for Rajouri on Tuesday (to give in writing), SSP along with Additional SP and SHO Rajouri reached Dhangri village and held a meeting with the members of victims’ families, Sarpanch, Dheeraj Kumar, and other prominent citizens at the house of Saroj Bala, who have lost her two sons in the terrorist attack.
    “SSP assured us that the investigation into the twin terror attacks is being conducted by the NIA.
    Other prominent agencies also helping in tracing those involved in the terror attack. Hunger strike or any other action likely to hamper the ongoing investigation,” said Sarpanch Dheeraj Kumar.
    “SSP has requested to postpone our proposed hunger strike program for one month. As he has assured sure success against the perpetrators of Dhangri attacks soon, so we postponed our hunger strike for one month,” Sarpanch added.
    Saroj Bala, who lost her two sons, namely Deepak and Prince, decided to sit on an indefinite hunger strike along with family members of other deceased persons to express their resentment against the failure of security agencies in the killing of two terrorists involved in Dhangri attack and against no action against those helped these terrorists till date.
    “As SSP has assured us about sure action against the killers of our seven people & who helped them, so we decided to postpone our hunger strike for one month on SSP’s request,” said Saroj Bala.
    Five persons, including two brothers and a father-son duo, were killed in the firing on January 1 and two children died & ten others were injured when an improvised explosive device (IED) left behind by the attackers went off on January 2 at about 10 am.

    SOPORE FEBRUARY 21 :–A week long skill development training programme on “Business Statistics Using R, Excel & SAS Softwares” was concluded today on 21st of Feb. 2023, at the Division of Agricultural Economics and Statistics, Faculty of Agriculture, Wadura, SKUAST-Kashmir. It was second Seven Days’ MSME Skill Development training programme on the same subject. The objective of the training was to equip the students and participants with business statistics, data science, its analytics, Artificial Intelligence, Block chain, Supply/Value Chain, and other various statistical and economic techniques used in business management. At the beginning of the Valedictory event, the Course Co-ordinator, Prof. Tariq Ahmad Raja, Head, Division of Agriculture Economics and Statistics, spoke on the topic ‘Business Statistics and its role in present times. The program was attended by twenty five students. He stressed upon the participants to inculcate the interest in the subjects of Statistics, Economics, Computers & Data Science.

    The participants got acquainted with R, Excel, SAS & other Software Languages through various lectures delivered by the experts from within and outside the faculty particularly by Prof. Shakeel Ahmad Mir, faculty of Horticulture and Dr. Iqbal Jeelani , faculty of forestry.

    Altaf Hussain Haji (ISS) DDG, National Statistical Office, Shimla, Himachal Pradesh, India, was the chief guest of the valedictory event. He spoke about the prospects of the subject and impressed upon the participants to explore the possibilities in this field as their career option.

    The Chief Guest also talked about the various aspects of G-20 (Premier Forum for International Economic Cooperation).
    The Co-coordinators, Dr Showket Maqbool, Associate professor and Dr. Faheem Wani, Assistant Professor also talked on the subject and impressed upon the participants to learn basics of Data Science, Economics and Block Chain. The training program was designed to cover the need in contemporary business and entrepreneurship skills.

    The Valedictory function was attended by various heads of the Divisions,
    Prof. M Ayoub Mantoo, Prof Amal Saxena, Prof. Javeed Ahmad, Prof. Mushtaq A Malik, Prof. Asif Bashir, Students welfare Officer Dr. Aijaz Qureshi and Mr. Irshad Ahmad, PA to Dean.

    In the end, Dr. Sajad Abdullah Saraf, Associate Professor, Agricultural Economics, briefed the participants about business economics and entrepreneurship development, and also presented the formal vote of thanks to all the participants especially the chief guest of the training programme.

    RAJOURI, FEBRUARY 21: District Development Commissioner (DDC) Rajour, Vikas Kundal, in a major step towards improving the living environment of the citizens of Rajouri, kick started work on the Gobardhan project under the Swachh Bharat Mission (SBM) here at panchayat Dhanore Dindian. The project seeks to implement sustainable solid waste management and recycling systems in the city.

    After laying the foundation stone, the DDC highlighted the importance of a clean environment, saying “We must strive to make our rural area garbage-free and install dustbins, segregation bins and recycling centers.”

    He said the Gobardhan project has been taken up to ensure sustainability and waste management.” He also urged the people of Rajouri to be aware of their civic duties and play an active role in keeping the city clean and green.

    The DDC also directed the concerned departments to take necessary steps for the successful completion of the project by the end of March, 2023. “With the Gobardhan project, we are determined to make Rajouri a litter-free city and create a healthier and more hygienic living environment for its citizens” he said.

    The District Development Commissioner informed that 178 segregation sheds are being constructed in rural areas with the provision of door to door collection of to make rural Rajouri clean.

    Muzamil Mehmood who hails from Manchhama Tehsil Beerwah District Budgam is doing amazing Social Works in terms of Conducting sports events, holding blood donation camps, cleanliness drives, and drug de addiction events and providing medicine to poor and needy of general public.

    Muzamil Mehmood further expressed that purpose of organizing Cricket tournaments and many other events is to support youth and to encourage them, so that youth can also participate in national as well as international level and make their career bright in sports and different fields and to divert their mind from Drugs to sports and other professions.

    From 2016 till now he worked tirelessly and has conducted many events like cleanliness drives, blood donation camps, cannabis destroying drives, drug de addiction, women empowerment, free medical camps and even organising Cricket tournaments, Marital arts events and Cycle road race. During the Covid19 he distributed masks and free medicine for poor and needy people and even he has done door to door campaign to spread awareness Regarding Covid19 precautions.

    Muzamil Mehmood a young and prominent social activist aim to bring the change in a society, where situation demands to contribute more for the welfare of people at large. He taught in real terms how to be a sensible and responsible member in a society. He desire is that nothing is much worthy than being helping hand towards the society. Living in a civilized society tends you to learn a lot and it provides many opportunities to do something better for the people of the society. Being a social activist in the country has a great role because this country do adhere the grievances of people by virtue of the social activism.

    BUDHAL FEBRUARY 21-‘A volleyball tournament organized by Jazaa Educational and Charitable Trust in Samote of Kotranka sub-division in which about eight teams participated in the volleyball league while the final match was played Between Spartan team of kashmir and Samote seven star .     The chief guest while addressing the youth said that a big volleyball tournament is being organized for the youth in the month of March by the Indian Army.
    Muhammad Afzal (urf Begi), a local youth of Samote expressed his displeasure and said that the talent of sports in kotranka Budhal and samote is hidden among the youth, while the facilities of the playground are needed to bring it to the fore. For the past years, Allergy has been demanding a playground from the administration, while the youth of Kotranka Budhal Samote show great interest in sports.

    While the administration is not interested in giving priority to the youth of this area in sports, the said youth have demanded from the Jammu and Kashmir LG administration that the youth of kotranka Budhal and Samot should be provided with facilities such as playground, due to which the youth education As well as being able to perform well in sports, the local youths said that sports relieves the youth from mental stress and sports are necessary for the youth for good health.     The tournament is being organised in the memory of Shaheed DySP Ghani Sham resident of Rajouri Kallar who attained martyrdom in service of nation.

    The tournament has been started at District Police Lines Rajouri and was inaugurated by Senior Superintendent of Police Rajouri Mohammad Aslam in presence of Additional SP Rajouri Vivek Shekhar Sharma, Deputy SP DAR Parupkar Singh.
