    Rajouri, FEBRUARY 15:–To resolve some bottlenecks hampering progress of work on an important approach road (ring road) to Hamilton Bridge in Rajouri town, District Development Commissioner, Vikas Kundal visited the spot.The project is approved under the languishing scheme at a cost of Rs 2.26 crore.

    During an inspection of the ongoing work on this Hamilton Bridge approach road, Vikas Kundal found that a major stretch of the road was completed, but there were some bottlenecks that needed to be resolved on the spot.

    The DDC promptly issued directions to resolve the issues for the completion of the project at the earliest.

    The approach road to Hamilton Bridge is an important project that will provide better connectivity to the people of the city and facilitate decongestion and smooth movement of traffic.

    It is expected to reduce travel time between the various areas and provide a better commuting experience for people.
    The DDC expressed satisfaction over the progress of the road construction and stressed the need to expedite the remaining work.

    He also assured the public that the project would be completed in time as no effort would be spared to ensure the same.
    The DDC set March 2023 as the deadline for the completion of the project.

    The resolution of on-site bottlenecks and directions for early completion of the project is expected to benefit the people of Rajouri in the long run.

    UDHAMPUR FEBRUARY 15:–Volleyball tournament organized under Civic Action Programme 2022-23 of Jammu and Kashmir Police was today declared closed by SSP Udhampur Dr. Vnod Kumar-IPS at mini stadium Udhampur in presence of  Gurmeet Singh Dysp. Hqrs. Udhampur, Insp. Raghubir Singh SHO Police Station Udhampur, prominent citizens, participants and staff of youth services and sports Udhampur.

    This Sports event was organised w.e.f. 14/02/2023 to 15/02/2023. Youngsters of district Udhampur participated in this Voleyball tournament which were played over two days under CAP 2022-23 and were officiated by the officials of the Department of Youths Services and Sports.

    During the closing ceremony SSP Udhampur Dr. Vinod Kumar –IPS stated that such types of Sporting event’s to connect with the Youths under the banner of Various Ongoing welfare Programmes of Police Department will be continued.

    The budding sportspersons will be given a level playing field to display their talent & to ensure their career progressions under these flagship programs.He said It’s the collective responsibility of Parents & Civil Society members & Police to organize such types of Platforms to keep the Younger generation away from the scourge of Drugs Addiction, antisocial /anti national acts . This type of sporting activity is a constructive engagements with the Youths to make society a better place for the Younger generation & to explore their hidden talents

    UDHAMPUR FEBRUARY 15:–Police in Udhampur have organized 02 drug youth awareness programmes in view of the growing menace of drug abuse and addiction especially among youth. The awareness programme was held at Govt. Middle School Mandpa and Govt. Middle School Omara. The event was organised on the directions of SSP Udhampur Dr. Vinod Kumar -IPS. The event was chaired by SI Gian Nath, chaired the event alongwith Azra Khan Social Worker of Women Rights project at special cell Police Station Udhampur and Devika Sharma (Drug Councilor Drug Deaddiction centre DPL Udhampur).

    On the occasion, SI Gian Nath discussed about what the cybercrime is, types of cybercrimes such as hacking, credit card fraud, cyber terrorism, cyber stalking, cyber threatening, child pornography, financial crimes, etc, categories of cybercrimes such as crime against persons, crime against property and crime against Government and preventions against cybercrime.

    Moreover, youths were advised not to share their OTPs of various credit cards, ATMs etc. falling prey to duping methodsIt is the duty of all stakeholders to join in creating awareness about the illegal use of drugs and the measures to be taken to prevent this menace.

    Devika Sharma also spoke on the occasion and highlighted their experience in treating drug addicts. She gave a detailed speech on how to recognize that a person is addicted of drugs, treatment and testing process and also presented a detailed presentation about the menace of drugs, sources, causes, consequences, role of parents, civil society, teachers, Police, Health Department, Judiciary and other stakeholders. While speaking on the event, she said that the issue of drug abuse is a challenge before the country.

    While speaking on the occasion Ms. Azra Khan highlighted the achievements made by women in different fields. She told, the participants that we must assist women facing harassment, abuse or any domestic violence, eve teasing etc. She also said that we want to create a safe city with regard to the Women Safety and must ensure dignity and safety of women at workplace and in transit to work place and also highlighted the following issues of women’s such as Gender Equality, Gender sensitivity, Issues related to Women like Physical Violence, Sexual Violence, Emotional or Psychological Violence and explain the police procedure and structure for the violated Women to develop her capability to access the Police System.

    KUPWARA FEBRUARY 15:–On the directions of Deputy Commissioner Kupwara Dr Sagar Dofidio , the District Administration today provided an immediate ex-gratia relief/assistance to the fire victims of waderbala areas of Rajwar.

    A team of Tehsil Administration Zachaldara ,Red Cross along BDC chairperson Rajwar Miss Shaheena Ji today with concerned officers visited Waderbala and provided Rs.20, 000 to each family whose residential house got damaged in a fire incident, yesterday-night. They also provided kitchen utensils and other essential stuff among the affected family. The relief was given under the District Red Cross Fund.

    SOPORE FEBRUARY : –Today On 15th of Feb. 2023, the Division of Agricultural Economics and Statistics, Faculty of Agriculture, Wadura SKUAST-K inaugurated its second Seven Days’ MSME Skill Development training programme on “Business Statistics Using R, Excel & SAS”. The aim of the training is to equip the students and participants with business statistics, data science, its analytics, Artificial Intelligence, Block chain, Supply/Value Chain, and other various statistical and economic techniques used in business management. At the beginning, Course Co-ordinator, Prof Tariq Ahmad Raja, Head, Division of Agriculture Economics and Statistics, spoke on the topic ‘Journey of Statistics to Data Science’. He enjoined upon the participants to develop interest in the subject of Statistics, Economics, Computers & Data Science to keep pace with the changing times. He impressed upon the participants to get familiar with R, Excel, SAS & other Software Languages which forms the core of the Data Analytics. The participants were enthusiastic to be part of the event.

    The Co-Coordinators, Dr Showket Maqbool, Associate professor and Dr. Faheem Wani, Assistant Professor gave the deep insight into the subject and impressed upon the participants to learn basics of data science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Internet of Things, etc. for their smarter beginning in their future endeavours. The training program has been designed in such a way to cover the present day need in business and entrepreneurship. To revitalize and revolutionize the education system there is a dire need and necessity to learn Statistics, Computer Aids and Programming Skills.

    At the end, Dr. Sajad Abdullah Saraf, Associate Professor, Agricultural Economics, talked about the business economics and entrepreneurship development, and also presented the formal vote of thanks to all the participants of the training programme.
