    POONCH, JANUARY 07:–Peoples Democratic Party Unit Poonch paid rich tributes to Party Founder and former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir and patron People’s Democratic Party J&K late Mufti Mohammad Sayeed on his seventh death anniversary.

    In this day, rich tributes were paid by workers of Peoples Democratic Party to its patron and former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir late Mufti Mohammad Sayeed.

    A function was organised at district headquarters in which dozens of workers and functionaries participated, the report said that the meeting was presided over by Party District President Poonch and Firebrand leader Shamim Ahmed Ganie,Javid Chowdhury,Adv Mahroof Khan,Moulvi Kala,Shokit Ahmed Shoka, Jamil Khan,Nayaz Ahmed Nayazi,Raja Waseem Khan,Baby Khan,Sajaid Chouhan,Ismile Khan,Qurash Khan, and others

    On the occasion Shamim Ganie threw light on the life and personality of late Mufti Mohammad Sayeed who always championed the cause of humanity and worked relentlessly for the betterment of downtrodden sections of the society acting as Masiah to address their grievances, he added.

    Calling Mufti Sayeed as a great visionary leader of Asia twenty first century who while keeping aside the regionalistic consideration set a precedence in the political era that for the concerns which treat the people from far and wide not only in J&K, but the entire country a like are considered exemplary for the democrats of the world, he further said.

    The further added that the formula of fostering peace in the sub-continent by resorting to mutual business ventures and need for engagements in dialogue with two neighbours eased the tension between them to a great extent and paved a way for trade across borders.

    Later, a two minutes silence was also observed in honour and the peace of the soul of the late leader.

    JAMMU JANUARY 07:–The Democratic Azad Party leaders today termed the shifting of Gujjar Hostel from earlier proposed and sanctioned location Bunjwah to District Headquarter Kishtwar as the injustice with the majority of the society falling under Schedule Tribes catagory.
    In a press statement Senior Leader and party vice chairman Ghulam Mohd Saroori termed the decision of shifting of Gujjar Hostel from Bunjwah by District Administration Kishtwar as the injustice with the general and common masses.
    Adding that Bunjwah region is with a majority of Schedule Tribes population and construction of the same in Bunjwah will ease and uplifts the Gujjar community.
    While expressing his concern, Saroori added that earlier the hostel was demanded and than proposed and sanctioned for Bunjwah for which land and all other requirements were fulfilled and submitted before District Administration Kishtwar but unfortunately for some undue advantage and benifits of revival political parties the same construction is now proposed at District Headquarter Kishtwar.
    Meanwhile BDC Chairperson, DDC Member and other prominent citizens belonging from Gujjar community expressed their concern over shifting of Gujjar Hostel from Bunjwah and demanded early review of said decision in the larger interest of the society otherwise the whole Bunjwah will holds demonstration against the Administration.

    BUDHAL January 07:—Sarpanches, panch and local people of Budhal today protested against the government at Budhal of Kotranka sub-division in Rajouri district saying that attendance of workers working under MNREGA through National Mobile Monitoring System is unfair to the labor class.
    Social activist and Sarpanch Farooq Inqlabi while addressing the protesters said that this decision of the government is completely wrong and cannot be accepted under any circumstances. He said that an order has been issued to the workers in the rural development office to attend twice a day under the National Mobile Monitoring System, due to which there is frustration among the workers.
    Farooq Inqlabi said that instead of giving employment to poor people, the government is taking away the employment they already have.
    Farooq Inqlabi said that Jammu and Kashmir is a mountainous state where it is not only difficult but impossible to work in this way.
    He said that if the government does not withdraw this decision, then lakhs of workers will become unemployed.
    Addressing the protestors, Sarpanch Shabir Kamlak said that the people of backward areas in the state are still deprived of basic facilities and the government has not paid attention to their improvement. He said that by imposing biometric attendance twice in the rural development office, the government’s intention is clear that they want to take away the jobs of lakhs of workers working under MNREGA.
    He said that womens in backward areas also work under MGNREGA, which will not be able to work now.
    The protesters have demanded the government to withdraw this decision immediately. The protesters said that if the government does not withdraw this decision, they will hold a massive protest against the government in Budhal on January 10.

    RAJOURI, JANUARY 7:– Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Vikas Kundal, on Saturday visited the Baljaralan area to inspect the allotment of guns and cartridges to the Village Defence Guards (VDGs) to bolster the security of the area. The weapons and ammunition is being provided to the VDGs by Police authorities.
    A camp was set up for the purpose. The Deputy Commissioner interacted with the members of the VDGs and inquired about their familiarity with the weapons.
    He also urged them to work for the safety and security of the people in the area.
    The VDGs appealed for their special training to ensure that are comfortable while handling the weapons.
    In response, the Deputy Commissioner assured that village-wise training programs would be organized for the VDGs after the weapons are distributed.
    He also assured that appropriate measures would be taken to maintain peace and tranquility in the district.

    who attended one Day Trade unions meet under the umbrella ” National Joint Council of Action (NJCA). It is worthwhile to mention that NJCA is a collective amalgamation viz a viz Confederation of several senior trade union leaders of the country who are discussing the scrap of new pension scheme and restoration of the old pension scheme. The grand meet has been convened by Sh Shiva Gopal Mishra Convenor National Joint Council of Action who called for important meeting regarding the restoration of Old Pension Scheme for all govt employees across the country at New Delhi today to press the government for the same. It is to note that Bhupinder Singh UT President Jammu and Kashmir Teachers Association and National convener AIPRUF is spearheading the Scrap NPS movement in Jammu and Kashmir since many years.
    The national and state level leaders of various constituent employees-organisations who had come from different parts of the country, attended this important meeting to chalk out the strategy for possible ways of struggle to achieve Old Pension Scheme.

    POONCH, JANUARY 07 :– Apni Party District President Poonch and Ex-MLA, Shah Mohammed Tantray said that there is no alternative to an elected Govt in Jammu and Kashmir.

    He said that the LG administration has failed to ensure equitable development in Loran-Mandi which is facing poor basic amenities.

    Addressing a public meeting in Loran, the Former MLA said that the authorities have neglected several areas with regard to development.

    “The people have developed feelings of alienation with the LG administration and the ground level officials are not responding to their demands appropriately due to which the people have lost their faith in the administration,” he said.

    He said that the present situation has put the people in fix because of no political representation in the Govt. If the elections are not held in J&K within a stipulated time and the matter is delayed further, it would further widen the gap which is not suitable.

    He said that “The holding of assembly polls will end the issues of development, inequality, unemployment, and grabbing of resources by the non-locals, poor basic amenities to the people.”

    He however appreciated the administration for implementing some schemes for the welfare of the people including old age pension, PMAY, free ration etc.

    He said that the local level administration has implemented welfare schemes which have given benefit to the poor people.

    He demanded that a road from Loran – Tangmarh (Kashmir) should be completed within a stipulated time frame. “Only 12 kms of the said road has been completed but the rest of 24 kms is pending which needs to be completed on fast track,” he said.

    He also demanded that the Mandi Degree College should be started. He also demanded employment for the unemployed youth and fair selection process to end irregularities in the selection process of recruitments.

    Meanwhile, Apni Party leaders and other prominent people also highlighted their issues before Shah Mohammed Tantray and he assured them that he would project them before the concerned authorities.
