    GNSONLINE JAMMU

JAMMU, NOVEMBER 30:– Rattan Lal Gupta, Provincial President National Conference Jammu, while raising serious concern over the acute problems being faced by the farmers across Jammu region, has sought Lt Governor Manoj Sinha’s immediate attention to ameliorate the miserable condition of the peasants thrust upon them by the BJP Govt at the Centre and its utter failure to address their pressing issues.

Interacting and discussing with the senior colleagues of the party regarding miserable condition of the farmers namely Abdul Gani Malik former minister and Zone President Reasi Udhampur district, Sheikh Bashir Ahmed Provincial Secretary Jammu, Abdul Gani Teli P.P OBC Cell, Vijay Lochan P.P SC Cell, Abid Magrey, Nazir Ahmed Lone. Mr Rattan Lal Gupta lamented that it is because of the failure of the J&K Administration that farmers have been compelled to come on roads. He said that in absence of any visionary policy of the farmers these food producers continue to crave for seeds and fertilizers. The miseries do not end here as still there is no fixation of MSP for the farmers’ produce.

The senior NC leader said that despite Govt’s tall claims of having achieved tremendous success in every sector, the fact remains that there are no proper or even adequate Marketing Mandis or storage facilities for farmers’ produce. The ultimate result of all these enumerated shortcomings is that farmers are not getting adequate prices for their produce despite their hard toil in the fields amid tough economic condition, he added.

Rattan Lal Gupta said that it is the farmers who ensure sustenance of life of the people of the nation and in view of this fact they deserve top priority attention which the Jammu and Kashmir Administration has failed to do. He made a fervent appeal to the Lt Governor Manoj Sinha to take serious note of farmers’ issues and address the same on priority by directing the concerned departmental men and machinery to gear up and provide the necessary amenities and facilities for healthy farming. He asked LG to ensure the timely availability of seeds and fertilizers to the farmers so that their efforts do not get wasted during the ongoing the crop season.
