    KUPWARA OCTOBER 31:–National Unity Day is celebrated in India on 31 October. It was introduced by the Government of India in 2014. The day is celebrated to mark the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel who had a major role in the political integration of India.

    The concept of National Unity Day is aimed at “providing an opportunity to re-affirm the inherent strength and resilience of our nation to withstand the actual and potential threats to the unity, integrity, and security of our country”.

    A motivational talk was delivered by Mrs Deepika Parikh, Business Head of Max Life Insurance, in the premises of Women’s Degree College, Sulkoot, Kupwara. Mrs Deepika is also Mrs India Globe-2019, Women Leadership Awardee-2021, CMO Asia World Women Leadership Awardee-2020, Women Super Achiever Awardee-2020 and Women Citation Awardee-202. The audience were from the college itself, girls from Govt Girls Higher Secondary School, School and Army Goodwill School, Wayne.

    She started her talk with significance of National Unity Day and motivated the girls by giving them mantras for leading a successful life. She emphasised on importance of having an aim in life and to follow those dreams by overcoming all the societal limitations and by working hard. She shared her own life story and the tale of her own success despite all the difficulties which are being faced by women in the country. She being from a small town in Rajasthan known as Lalgarh, narrated how she tread on path to success through sheer will and unending motivation and discipline. She made the girls realise how the women are pillars of society as she herself is the mother of two sons and despite all the personal responsibilities, she managed to make a career for herself thus emphasising that each and every girl can achieve the same feat.

    The girls seemed very motivated by her words and showed great enthusiasm thorughout the talk and same was showcased by thunderous applause for the speaker at the end of her talk.

    The girls were also addressed by Commander, Hajipir Brigade who highlighted the strength of women and their roles in the society and how a girl child should be treated by everyone.

    The talk was attended by 350 students in the premises. Also present were CO, 41 RR, Principal of the college and staff members. The Principal expressed his gratitude to the speaker and Army for conducting such an event.

    UDHAMPUR OCTOBER 31:–Continuing its war against drugs abuse, Udhampur Police arrested two drug peddlers and recovered 50 grams of contraband heroin like substance from their possession.

    A Police party of PS Udhampur headed by Insp. Raghubir Singh SHO PS Udhampur under the supervision of Addl. SP Udhampur Anwaar Ul Haq and DySP Hqrs. Udhampur Sahil Mahajan established a surprise naka near gole mela area of Udhampur town.

    During checking of vehicles and pedestrian, A motorbike without registration number was asked to stop but rider tried to fled away however police naka party hold them tactfully for thorough search. On frisking of bike rider Mohd. Qazi S/O Mushtaq Ahmed R/O Dihari, Ramnagar alongwith pillion Liaqat Ali S/O Sheru R/O Harichak, Kathua. Police recovered 50 grams of contraband heroin like substance and arrested both the accussed persons on spot.

    In this regard, case FIR No. 446/2022 under section 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered in PS Udhampur and investigation taken up.

    Udhampur Police is also working on the involvement of others in this illegal narcotic trade so that the youth of Udhampur and its surrroundings could be saved from the menace of drug addiction

    Apart from that, On the directions of SSP Udhampur Dr. Vinod Kumar IPS number of awareness programmes were/being organised by Udhampur Police under NASHA MUKT BHARAT ABHIYAN to make the mission drug free society.

    UDHAMPUR OCTOBER 31:—On the occasion of birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbai Patel, the Iron Man of India, a “Run for Unity” was today organised at Udhampur and its jurisdictional areas to celebrate Rashtriya Ekta Diwas wherein large number of volunteers including school children, police personnel of District Udhampur were participated in run for unity for the unity and integrity of nation.

    Dr. Vinod Kumar -IPS, SSP Udhampur along with Insp. Raghubir Choudhary SHO PS Udhampur flagged off the “Run For Unity” from Martyr Chowk (Domel) Udhampur and acccompanied them till culmination point i.e. District Police Lines Udhampur.

    An Ekta Parade was also held at DPL Udhampur on the occassion where Dr. Vinod Kumar, IPS SSP Udhampur took the parade salute in which Addl. SP Udhampur Anwaar Ul Haq, Insp. Isha Mahajan, Insp. Rajesh Gautam and Insp. Umesh Thakur and other officers were present in the parade.

    Similar programmes were also held at Sub-Divison Ramnagar, Chenani, and at different police stations and police posts like Latti, Pancheri, Majalta, Basantgarh, Ramnagar etc.

    An Ekta Pledge was also taken during programme regarding dedicating ourselves to the unity and integrity of nation while ensuring the brotherhood and comity irrespective of faith, creed, gender, race, colour and tribe.

    The participants were made aware about the role of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel in the independence of India and his efforts to make India into a modern, unified nation.

    The participants were encouraged to work hard with honesty and dedication in the interest of sustainable growth, unity and integrity of Indian Nation.

    RAJOURI OCTOBER 31:—On the occasion of “Rashtriya Ekta Divas” being observed on 31/10/2022 and Vigilance Awareness Week being observed in from 31st October to 6th November, 2022, District Police Rajouri organised Ekta Divas Pledge and Vigilance Pledge at DPL Rajouri and all subordinate units including Police Stations and Police Posts.

    300 jawans and officers from Police, IRP and CRPF took the pledge in DPL Lawns.

    The pledge was administered by DIG RP Range Dr. Haseeb Mughal, IPS. All officers of district Police Rajouri including SSP Rajouri Sh. Mohd Aslam, JKPS, ASP Rajouri sh Vivek Shekhar, dysp hqrs dysp Vinod Sharma ,DAR sh Praubkar Singh, dysp Ops Shivender Singh and other officers and officials participated in the event.

    JAMMU OCTOBER 31:–Four police officers from Jammu and Kashmir were among those who were awarded with Union Home Minister’s Special Operation Medal for the year 2022

    According to a list, a copy of which lies with the news agency, DIG Jammu, Vivek Gupta, SSP Jammu, Chandan Kohli, SDPO Gandhi Nagar Sachit Sharma and SGCT Vicky Kumar were among those who were awarded with the medal. “These medals were conferred for special operations with regard to managing terrorism, border disputes, arms and narcotics,” it reads. The Ministry of Home Affairs declares ‘Union Home Minister’s Special Operation Medal-2022’ for four special operations conducted by security forces in the areas of terrorism, border action, arms control, prevention of narcotics smuggling and rescue operations. The list includes 13 awardees from Telangana, 16 from Punjab, 19 from Delhi, 4 from Jammu and Kashmir and 11 from Maharashtra.

    Civil Society members ,officers and officials of various sectors lauded the role and service of Najeed Aziz Trumboo who rendered in different capacities in the Irrigation & Phe department with full Dedication.

    All the officers wished him a successful and healthy post retirement life.

    Aee Irrigation Shopian Samiullaha Naik , Aee Ali Mohd ,To Javid Ahmad, Ae Umer Shafi, Je Muzaffar Ah, Ae Shaidul Amin and eminent personalities of the district shopian participated in the function and louded the services of retiring officer and described him a down to earth and upright and honest officer.

    The retiring Executive Engineer expressed his thanks and Gratitude to the Chief Engineer I&FC Department Er Naresh Kumar for his support and understanding.

    RAJOURI OCTOBER 31:– On the occasion of “Rashtriya Ekta Divas” today on 31 October, District Police Rajouri organised a Run for Unity march.

    The march started from DPL Rajouri and passed through Rajouri town and than concluded at DPL Rajouri.

    Hundreds of persons including jawans and officers from Police, IRP, CRPF, Army and civil society participated in the event.

    The unity run was flagged off by Deputy Inspector General of RP Range, Dr. Haseeb Mughal and SSP Rajouri Mohd Aslam.

    All officers of district Police Rajouri participated in the event.

    DIG RP Range reiterated the fact that the Rashtriya Ekta Diwas provides an opportunity to reaffirm the inherent strength and resilience of our nation towards upholding the unity, integrity, and security of our country.

    The main objective of the celebration is to uplift the nation’s unity and spread awareness about Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s contribution to Indian history especially for integration of princely states into Indian union.
