    UDHAMPUR, JULY-29:- Deputy Commissioner Udhampur Krittika Jyotsna today handed over the keys of mini-commercial vehicles to 32 beneficiaries provided to them under “MUMKIN” Scheme here at a function held in the premises of District Employment & Counseling Centre.

    Assistant Director Employment Udhampur (Nodal Officer), Priyanka Gupta, were among several other officials of District Employment & Counseling Centre Udhampur who attended the ceremony. The vehicles provided to the un-employed youth included 10 small commercial vehicles of Mahindra and 22 small commercial vehicles of Tata.

    Giving the detail of the scheme, the AD Employment informed that the applicants will have the full liberty to choose any small commercial vehicle of any approved models/makes of his/her choice under “MUMKIN” Scheme.

    She added that the Mission Youth, J&K shall provide an amount of Rs.80000/ -10% of on-road price of the vehicle (whichever is less) as upfront subsidy. She reiterated that the vehicle manufacturer shall also provide an upfront special discount, not less than the amount of subsidy and the banking partner shall extend loan facility to the extent of 100% of the on-road price of the vehicle to be purchased without any collateral security.

    UDHAMPUR, JULY 29: –Shikshit Bharat Club, in collaboration with Heritage Club, Government College for Women Udhampur today organized one day hands on training programme on vocational and craft education based on Gandhian thought and values in the light of National Education Policy 2020 here on the College campus.

    Principal of the college, Prof. Dr. Monika Sharma inaugurated the training by lighting the ceremonial lamp, who was also the chief guest on this occasion.

    Block Programme Manager Dudu Basantgarh from Jammu and Kashmir National Rural Livelihood mission [JKRLM] Naresh Kumar Mathur was the chief resource person.

    In her address, Dr. Monika Sharma appealed the participants to adapt the skills of vocational and craft education to commercialize the local products of the area for economic independence of students with small startups.

    She also emphasized on identification of local craft having the potential to attract demand in the national market. She further called for generating awareness among the masses for the use and promotion of local products and being Vocal for Local.

    Dr. Monika lauded the efforts of Shikshit Bharat Club and Heritage Club for organizing such events for the larger benefit of the student community. She further urged the respective clubs to organize more such programmes in the future keeping in mind the relevance of the vocational and value-added courses in the National Education policy 2020.

    The resource person Naresh Kumar Mathur, Block Programme Manager Dudu Basantgarh, while deliberating on the topic, highlighted the importance of such startups, especially for the people living in rural India.

    Mathur apprised the audience about the initiative of the government in extending the help to self help groups in the form of loans up to Rs 20 lakh @ 4% interest under the scheme UMEED.

    The exhibition of the products like Kalari, Solar dried apple, Honey, Walnut, Guchhian, Rasond, Kaimbloo, Desi Ghee, Anardana and Rajmash being commercialized by women of self-help groups of Dudu and Basantgarh area was also arranged. Naresh also appealed to the students to organize a student bank in the college to take initiative for popularization of vocational, craft and value-added courses along with local products.

    Earlier, in his welcome address, Nodal Officer Shikshit Bharat Club and Convenor Heritage club, Prof.Yash Paul [HOD History] highlighted the vision of one day hands on training programme and advised the participants to follow the practice of vocational and craft education in the daily life to grow economically prosperous.

    JAMMU, JULY 29: –Apni Party President Syed Mohammed Altaf Bukhari has appealed to the Govt to declare cloud burst in Warwan in Kishtwar district as natural calamity and immediately launch a relief and rescue operation.
    In a press statement issued here, Altaf Bukhari said that the cloud burst in the Afti village of Warwan has damaged public as well as private property which include footbridge.
    He said that the people have also lost mobile connectivity in the area following the cloud burst and heavy rains and it should be restored to ascertain the factual ground situation.
    The people in distress must be provided immediate compensation by the authorities, he said.
    “The administration must act swiftly and provide needed relief / compensation to the victims of the cloud burst as soon as possible by sending the rescue and relief teams, ” he said.
    He said that “The chopper service must be utilized by the administration to drop ration, medical aid and tents to the victims of cloud burst hit village Afti in Kishtwar.”
    “The trapped people should be shifted to safer places and accordingly they shall be provided all the possible help from the Govt besides providing adequate compensation of the losses in the shape of property or agricultural land damages,” he added.
    He said that the heavy rains have also damaged properties and agricultural land in upper reaches of Kishtwar, Doda and Ramban Districts. Therefore, the Govt should send teams for the rescue of the people in the upper reaches as well as for the assessment of the losses suffered by the people.
    “The quick response teams should be dispatched with the equipments to the cloudburst hit area and other heavy rains affected areas to help the people in need in Warwan, Dacchan, Marwah, Padder and other remote areas of Kishtwar and other two Districts of Chenab Valley,” he added.
    He said that the landslides have also blocked road connectivity in many interior areas of Chenab valley due to heavy rains and they should be restored at the earliest.
    He also appealed to the people to stay away from the water bodies. He directed the Apni Party leaders and workers to help the flash flood affected people and the administration in rescue operations.

    Vigyan Prasar ,DST Govt. of India Sponsored project for socio economic upliftment of Scheduled tribes was organized by Division of Floriculture and Landscape Architecture SKUAST K Shalimar. The aim of the workshop was to sanitize ST’s of five districts viz Srinagar,Ganderbal,Kupwara, Baramulla Bandipora and Bandipora regarding the scope of bioresource management for sustainable livelihood security. The programme is collaborative programme of Vigyan Prasar(autonomous body of DST) and funded by SEED Division of DST Govt of India. The Inaugural was enlighted by the presence of Vice Chancellor SKUAST K Prof Nazir Ahmad Ganai along with Director Research Prof . Sarfraz A Wani,Prof M A Siddique Dean Students Welfare, Shabir Ahmad Wani Dean Facluty of Horticulture and other Heads of the divisions. Besides this Dr K B Bhushan Scientist E Vigyan Prasar attended through virtual Mode from New Delhi. Priority areas were delaminated including model training cum demonstration units shall be established in the selected districts. ,Ex-situ propagation shall be carried out for mass multiplication through cuttings, divisions, and seeds specie wise as per means of propagation on scientific lines using priming techniques for seeds and use of PGR’s for rooting of cuttings. establishment of demonstration units which can be explored at commercial scale, awareness and training and demonstration on landscape use and multiplication of high valued niche plants for commercialization and capacity building in propagation techniques.

    RAJOURI, JULY 29:– A meeting of the concerned officers to discuss the cases under SDRF was today chaired under the chairmanship of the Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Vikas Kundal.

    Threadbare discussion were held on relief cases of damage to cattle sheds, kutcha house, sheep and goats in different tehsils due to floods, landslide and other natural calamities were cleared under SDRF norms

    While addressing the officers during the meeting, the DDC asked the revenue officers to expedite all the pending cases to facilitate early disbursement of relief as admissible under SDRF norms.

    The DC directed the concerned officers to scrutinise all the pending cases and submit the same at an earliest for their timely disposal so that necessary relief under SDRF is provided to the victims.

    RAJOURI, JULY 29:– First batch of 1007 pilgrims was today recieved for Shri Budha Amarnath Yatra at yatra station in Rajouri.

    The batch was received by the Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Vikas Kundal. The pilgrims included 600 males, 395 females and 12 children.

    Officers who were present on the occasion were DIG Rajouri-Poonch Range; Dr Mohd Haseeb Mughal; ADDC, Pawan Kumar; ADC Rajouri, Sachin Dev Singh; ACR, Imran Rashid Kataria; AD FCS&CA, Arief Lone and other concerned officers.

    Attal Peethadeshwar Shri Shri 1008 Swami Vishwatma Nand Sarswati Ji Maharaj was also present during the event.

    DC also took stock of varied facilities for the brief stay of the pilgrims at the yatra station including drinking water, power supply, toilet facilities, langer facilities sanitation, medicare, security etc being made available for the smooth and successful conduct of Shri Budha Amarnath ji Yatra.

    He asked the concerned officers to make all efforts possible so that the yatris don’t feel any inconvenience during their journey.
