    RAJOURI, JULY 28:–On Thursday a mega event was organised in the auditorium of Government PG College to c elebrate the ‘Ujjwal Bharat, Ujjwal Bhavishya, Power @2047’ program under the ongoing ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ campaign.
    The event was organised by the NHPC in collaboration with Executive Engineer (Ex En) JKPDC & Ex En Project wing along with various stakeholders and was presided over by the President Municipal Council (MC), Mohammad Arif.
    The event was also attended by ADDC, Pawan Kumar; Councillor Javed Choughan, Sarpanch Khaleel Choudhary, SE PDD, Roshan Lal; Ex En PDD Rajouri, Hasan Mohammad, Ex En Project Wing Maqbool Hussain.
    Chief Guest inspected the stalls erected by various agencies to showcase and display their services and achievements with a special focus on achievements made in the power sector in the last 75 years.
    “The Government is doing remarkable work in the field of electricity and the local administration is implementing various schemes with the help of the center government and the public is getting benefited,” said ADDC, Pawan Kumar..
    “Electricity plays a very important role in our day-to-day life and there is a need to use it judiciously,” said Mohad Arif, President, MC.
    He terms the power sector as the vital sector and exhorted to enthuse more vibrancy in the department by strengthening and streamlining their public service delivery mechanism.
    “The Government has achieved unprecedented growth in the power sector over the past few years and efforts in this direction would continue to further streamline and improve public service delivery under this sector,” said MC President.
    The Additional District Development Commissioner said that the “Concerned PDD officers should ensure proper supply of electricity in the district while adhering to the curtailment schedules” said ADDC.
    He also asked for ensuring the timely provision of power tariffs to the public and maintained that there should be no outstanding electricity bills so that the dues are paid timely.
    Mohd Arif, President MC also threw light on Ujjawal Bharat Ujjwal Bhavishya and highlighted the key achievements of India in the power sector.
    He said that the “Bijli Mahotsav was being celebrated all over the country under the umbrella of Ujjwal Bharat Ujjwal Bhavishya – Power @2047 to encourage public participation and getting across the developments in the power sector to the citizens at large” he said.

    UDHAMPUR, JULY 28:–To mark the celebration of Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav, Labour Department, Udhampur today disbursed education assistance in favour of the children of registered construction workers under the Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board (BOCWWB) schemes.

    District Development Commissioner, Krittika Jyotsna lauded the efforts of the Labour Department in providing financial assistance to the labourers under the government schemes. The DDC stressed on organizing more such awareness camps to widen the area of coverage.

    Pradyot Gupta, Assistant Labour Commissioner, informed that the assistance was released at the time when the whole Country is celebrating 75th year of Independence under the Campaign: “Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav”.

    The financial assistance has been disbursed among construction workers through DBT mode.

    “An amount of Rs.52.80 Lakh was disbursed on the occasion among 663 beneficiaries under Building and other Construction Workers Welfare Board schemes. A total of 663 Labourers covered while 954 students benefitted,” he added.

    HANDWARA JULY 28:– Continuing celebration of world nature conservation day and another plantation drive wad organized under green j&k drive in Baderkal area of Rajwar Range of Forest Division Langate.

    Plantation drive were also organized by the Forest department in Compartment 06/Raj.

    According to officials Greening initiatives have been accelerated in Kashmir valley under different programmes like Har Gaon Haryali, One Beat Guard One Village Programme, Har Ghar Haryali. They said, use of low cost greening interventions like seed ball technology has also been introduced for greening and rehabilitating degraded forests areas. Range Officer rajwar and are volunteering for supporting Greening activities.

    The participants included DDC Rajwar, BDC Rajwar, BDC Handwara, BDO Handwara, Range Officer Rajwar, Sarpanch, Ward members, youth, students, and all Forest officer’s participated in the Drive.

    The initiative and participation of the people was appreciative. Students took a special interest in the event and their similes reflected the happiness and joy of participation.

    GANDERBAL JULY 28:–Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Ganderbal, SKUAST-Kashmir’s outreach program under the leadership of Prof Nazir Ahmad Ganai Vice Chancellor and Guidance of Prof Dil Mohammad Makhdoomi, Director Extension organized a mega Equine health camp at Baltal Sonmarg enroute to the Amarnath holy cave. Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Prof. Nazir Ahmad Ganai was the Chief Guest and Director Extension, Prof. Dil Mohammad Makhdoomi was the Guest of Honor. Baltal and Pahalgam have been the basic centers for undertaking Amarnath Yatra and the equine population of entire Jammu and Kashmir, UT is at forefront in carrying annual Amarnath Yatra to the logical conclusion because it is of the equines that the pilgrims reach to the cave barring those who cannot afford to travel by helicopters. The programme was inaugurated by Hon’ble Vice Chancellor and the theme of the programme was reaching out to all equines engaged in the Amarnath Yatra. The camp was established by Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Ganderbal wherein all diagnostic modalities like ultrasonography and portable surgical theatre was started at the Baltal Base Camp. Hon’ble Vice Chancellor inaugurated by undertaking the ultrasonography of an eye of an ailing horse. Speaking on the occasion Hon’ble Vice Chancellor said that such camps are of a pivotal importance as per the treatment of equine animals and their utility to the owners is concerned. Hon’ble Vice Chancellor interacted with a number of horse owners and sought the difficulties faced by them and suggested some remedial measures. On the occasion, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor witnessed the team of surgeons and physicians treating the cases and expressed his keen interest in treatment of animals and giving advices to the owners of the animal patients. The Hon’ble Vice Chancellor advised on spot to give a detailed report of the cases coming for the camp so that the future strategy can be drawn how to prevent the further loss of animal life in the future.
    The camp was led by Prof. Dil Mohmmad Makhdoomi, Director Extension SKUAST-K who himself performed through examination, onspot procedures and provided necessary prescriptions for various ailments. He also guided the ponywallas regarding the health and nutritional management of the horses and ponies necessary for logistics of the yatra. The team of experts include Scientist from Faculty of Veterinary Sciences, Shuhama and Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Ganderbal. Prof. Dil Mohammad Makhdoomi said that 12,000 horses have been registered over the period for Amarnath Yatra out of which 5,000 of the animals are enrooted to the Baltal and 7,000 are registered from the Pahalgam side. The beauty of the Yatra this time is that the Govt of Jammu and Kashmir has this time given a free insurance scheme of Rs 55,000 per horse to the owners.
    The camp was attended by ponywallas who help devotees to trek 14 kms on the very narrow and treacherous tract from Baltal to holy cave. Some of the owners narrated to the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor that during this Yatra period, the death of 80 horses has been reported and possibly they were because of the heat stroke in the initial phase of the Yatra and consequent upon the change of the weather and some other diseases that remain obscured. During the camp, 150 ponies and horses received free health check-up and treatment. The camp also covered treatment to more than 30 cattle and other livestock residing in the area. The common disease problems of horses recorded during the health camp were Saddle galls and Abscesses, Lameness, foot problems, ddigestive problems, worm infestations, malnutrition and debility. Besides the health check-ups and treatment, several essential veterinary medicines including mineral mixtures and vitamins, deworming medicines, liquid calcium supplements, liver stimulants, stomachic powder and wound healing ointments were distributed among the farmer free of cost
    At the outset Dr Ishfaq Abidi, Sr. Scientist and Head KVK Ganderbal thanked the Chief Guest, team of experts from Faculty of Veterinary Sciences, SKUAST-K Shuhama, Ponnywallas and associated progressive farmers for making the camp successful. He requested the Ponnywallas and associated people to take maximum advantage of the experts and ensured that KVK will organise more such camp in future. Dr. Pervaiz Dar, Scientist, KVK Ganderbal coordinated the proceeding of the animal camp and thanked the team of experts for their painstaking efforts. Dr. Farooq Ahanger, Scientist, KVK Ganderbal also helped the in the smooth conduct of the camp. Officers from Animal Husbandry Department, Ganderbal, Virbac animal health Pvt ltd also participated in the camp.

    The camp went on continuously till 05.00 pm in the evening and all the horse owners expressed thanks to the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor and to the University for the timely intervention of their ailing animals and giving them free medicines.

    WADURA JULY 28:–On nature conservation day, A mega plantation drive was held today in the side lawns of different buildings of wadura campus. The Program was organised under the banner of Nature & Adventure club. Dean FoA , Prof Raihana Habib Kanth explained the benefits of planting saplings for better future generations.The plants grown in poly bags can be transplanted in any season if extra care is taken. She said that these drives have everlasting impact on the development of good personality traits.

    Prof Tariq A Raja explained that best way to manage the effects of hot temperature on plants is adequate and consistent watering and new scientific techniques help us to plant trees even in monsoon seasons.
    HoDs of different Divisions, faculty members and students participated in the drive which was sponsored by State Bank of India, under social corporate duty. Mr Satinder Singh Branch head SBI Pattan also spoke on the occasion. Dr Ajaz Qureshi, Students Welfare Officer FoA moderated the program. Many students including Club secretaries Mr Fazil Fayaz PhD scholar and Ms Saniya Soharverdy also spoke on the occasion.

    HANDWARA JULY 28 :–As a part of J&K Government’s Public outreach programme, Handwara Police today organized ‘Thana Diwas’ at Police Station Qalamabad.

    The meeting was chaired by ASP Handwara Irshad Hussain-JKPS accompanied by SDPO Handwara Fariz Hussain-JKPS and SHO PS Qalamabad.

    The meeting was attended by the respectable citizens, civil societies of Qalamabad area, including Numberdars, Chowkidars,Traders Federation, Transporters and PRI’s.

    In the pubic outreach Programme numerous grievances projected by the general public were resolved on the spot as the chairing officer gave patient hearing to the participants and also assured that other issues will be taken up accordingly with the concerned authorities.

    It was also reiterated by the supervisory officer that the aim of the ‘Thana Divas’ is to ensure timely and efficient services to the aggrieved persons in a very transparent judicious manner.

    The participants were impressed upon to co-operate Handwara Police in maintaining Law & order, drug free and crime free atmosphere in their respective area.

    The meeting concluded with the vote of thanks from both sides.

    RAJOURI, JULY 28:– Four days Digital JK Mela was today concluded in Rajouri and the last day of the mela witnessed huge public participation and added enthusiasm was observed among the participants.

    The program is being celebrated under the overall supervision of the District Development Commissioner, Vikas Kundal.

    The Event is aimed to raise awareness about e-services provided by different Govt Departments and encourage citizens to avail the same.

    Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Vikas Kundal who also was the chief guest during the culminating ceremony of the program while addressing the event highlighted the importance of the digital Mela.

    Terming that digital mission the DC said the event has showcased citizen-centric IT initiatives that have helped in bringing about greater transparency in governance and ease of living for citizens.

    “The objective of celebrating Digital mela was to popularize and promote the e-Services made available by the Government to the general masses”, he added.

    The last day of Digital JK Mela concluded with multifarious activities in Rajouri and added enthusiasm observed among public.

    Different departments had erected their stalls depicting varied online services available with different departments and these resource persons of these departments motivated the public to avail the benefits of the same.

    On the last day, three competitions were organised including quiz competition, painting and symposium and the winners of which were fecilitated by the DDC Rajouri, Vikas Kundal.

    The Public has also praised fruitful digital initiatives of the Govt and appealed for continuing such programs to fulfill their needs.

    RAJOURI JULY 28 :—Police station Rajouri rescued seven animals from the clutches of smugglers while foiling 02 bovine smuggling bids in Rajouri area.
    A team of Rajouri police comprising ICPP Chatyar Chingus, PSI Sahil Choudhary and headed by SHO Rajouri Fareed Ahmed during routine checking intercepted Two load carrier vehicles bearing Registration No. JK19 8153 and JK11E 6640 and found vehicles loaded with bovine animals without any valid permission.

    The vehicles were on their way towards Buffliaz.

    Taking action in the matter,
    a case FIR No. 404/2022, U/S 188 IPC, 11 PCA and FIR No. 405, U/S 188,11 PCA Act have been registered. The accused persons have also been arrested.
