    UDHAMPUR JUNE 21:–15th Battalion of ITBP Pranu Camp Organised International Yoga Day -2022 with the theme of “Yoga for Humanity” with full zeal and enthusiasm under the guidance of Unit Yoga trainer. Various poses like Surya Namaskaar, Tardaasan, Chakrasan, Bhujangsan, Padmasan etc were practiced.

    On the occasion all the Officers, Himveers and ITBP families practiced yoga in unit campus. Speaking on the occasion Sh. Ashish Kumar Officer Commanding of unit stated that in modern culture Yoga is the key aspect of disciplined life and a priceless gift of ancestors. He also stated that during the Covid-19 Yoga helped a lot in recuperation of infected person. He urged all to practice yoga in routine life .

    BUDHAL JUNE21:— A 03-Member NAAC Peer Team comprised of Prof. Susmita Prasad Pani (Chairperson), Prof. Bharati Gawali (Member coordinator) and Prof. Manish Pandya (Member) visited Government Degree College Budhal, Rajouri for Assessment and Accreditation. They were experts from different domains of knowledge commenced their two-day visit on 20th June, 2022 to acquaint themselves with the strengths and weaknesses of the Institution and analyse the mechanism for quality improvement.
    The objective of the visit was realized through the Assessment of the College in respect of seven criteria laid down for the purpose. The criteria include 1) Curricular Aspects 2) Teaching-Learning and Evaluation 3) Research Innovations and Extension 4) Infrastructure and Learning Resources 5) Student Support and Progression 6) Governance, Leadership and Management and 7) Institutional Values and Best Practices. Government Degree College, Budhal was assiduously prepared itself on all the parameters to get assessed and accredited. The Assessment and Accreditation of a College through an interface with a ranking agency is significant because it is linked to funding and also to promote the access, equity and excellence. This effort of GDC Budhal will help the College to benchmark its Academic and Research Programmes and for up-gradation of its infrastructure and Learning Resources besides injecting best practices into the Institutional Development Plan to meet the aspirations of the youth and Nation in general.
    GDC Budhal is committed to Quality Education, Intellectual Freedom and Critical Enquiry. In the first day of visit, Dr. Mohd Mazammal Hussain, Principal of the College made a focused presentation on the College’s strengths and it’s Vision. After that NAAC PEER team assessed the whole college keeping in consideration the above mentioned parameters and finally the first day of visit was concluded with cultural program presented by the Students. In the second day they completed the process of Assessment by submitting their Assessment report to the Principal of the College in the Exit meeting.

    SOPORE JUNE 21:–A 7-day skill development course on Skilling Students in Production and protection Technology of Field Crops for the students and research scholars starts at Faculty of Agriculture, Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology -Kashmir (SKUAST-K), Wadura Sopore.
    According to a statement , the training has been sponsored by World Bank-ICAR funded National Agricultural Higher Education Project for institutional development of SKUAST-K. Around 50 students and scholars from various disciplines are participating in the training program.
    Dean Faculty of Agriculture – Prof. Raihana Habib Kanth, Chief guest on this occasion, urged the participants to make best use of the training program to upgrade themselves in practical & analytical aspects on cultivation of field crops. She also stressed on holding more such programme in future for the skill development of the students.
    Dr Ashaq Hussain, Course Director, welcomed the participants & presented brief overview of the course. He emphasized on the students to utilize the opportunity to update their knowledge vis-a-vis latest trends in research in breeding & management of field crops.
    On this occasion Chief Agriculture Officer Baramulla Yadvinder Singh, HOD Agronomy – Prof. Amal Saxena, HOD Agriculture Extension – Prof. Mushtaq Ah, HOD Agriculture Stastics – Prof. T A Raja & other scientists of the faculty were present. The proceedings of the function were moderated by Dr Aabid Hussain Lone.
