    RAJOURI JUNE 05:- Under the vibrant leadership of Mohd. Arif, President of Municipal Council Rajouri, along with Bharat Bhushan, Vice President, EO Municipal Council Rajouri Mohammad Yaqoob launched a clean and green Rajouri campaign on World Environment Day.

    While speaking on the occasion, Mr. Arif said that it is a reminder that we must take good care of our surroundings and this is the slogans of our Prime Minister of India’s , which is being carried out on the ground in Rajouri town today with the help of sanitation workers and volunteers. On this occasion, the President of Municipal Council Rajouri expressed his appreciation and best wishes to sanitation workers in honour of World Environment Day, which is being observed in Rajouri. He also expressed gratitude to EO Municipal Council Rajouri Mohammad Yaqoob and sanitation workers for their continuous efforts in keeping Rajouri clean. During his media appearance President Municipal Council underlined his commitment to better sanitation and the scientific disposal of all types of daily garbage , he also mentioned the two Multi Recovery Facility (MRF) facilities where our polythene and kitchen garbage/wet waste are recycled on a daily basis. He also congratulated the residents of Rajouri District and the Rajouri Town sanitation employees, and wished them good luck.

    Bharat Bushan Vaid, Vice President, Municipal Council Rajouri, spoke at the event and complimented the Municipal Council Rajouri’s efforts to realise the clean and green Rajouri objective. He also stressed the significance of environmental protection, promising to keep Rajouri clean and green.

    Others who are are present on the occasion are Baou Ram , Sanitation Supervisor Lal Hussain , Sanitation Supervisor Imtayaz Hussain , Supervisor Deepak Kumar & many others were present on the event .

    SRINAGAR: JUNE 05:–Terming the targeted killings in Kashmir a conspiracy against Kashmir and Kashmiryat, large number of Kashmir Panchayat leaders ( Sarpanches and Panches) gathered here at Srinagar today and appealed the minority community people particularly Kashmiri Pandits not to leave valley due to fear created by enemies of Kashmir. “We appeal the minority community people working and living in valley not to leave valley in fear created by enemies of Kashmir and Kashmiryat. We request our society too to provide all type of help to the people working in diff event villages of the valley, said Panchayat Conference leaders in a statement after the meeting.
    Under the banner of “All J&K Panchayat Conference” large number of Sarpanches from valley gathered here today to discuss the present situation in valley after the target killings. The meeting was presided over by chairman All J & K Panchayat Conference Shafiq Mir. While speaking on the occasion, the Panchayat leaders described recent minority killings in valley a conspiracy against Kashmir and Kashmiryat Known around the globe for its tolerance and brotherhood. “We condemn these attacks and demand from the government to expose the elements responsible for these acts before the public. We also appeal all political parties and civil society groups to come together and give the message the Kashmiris can not allow such things in the land which is know for brotherhood and tolerance”, said Panchayat leaders . However, Panchayat leaders said that it was responsible of the government to build the atmosphere of trust in the society and expose the killers. “ We are one (Kashmiri Hindus and Kashmiri Muslims) and we have to fight it jointly because this is conspiracy against Kashmiryat” it added .

    JAMMU JUNE 05:– Jammu and Kashmir Border Area Development Conference(JK_BADC), a registered organization working for the welfare of people of border areas has demanded special audit of funds used during last 5 years for repair, renovation, construction of new sports infrastructure in border district Poonch. The organization demanded a special audit for the government funds used in any kind of sports infrastructure activity.

    During an interaction with local sportspersons of the district Poonch, Dr Shazad Ahmed Malik, former Vice Chancellor and Chairman of JK-BADC said the present sports infrastructure in district Poonch is unsuitable for conducting indoor and outdoor games. The former VC informed that he has been apprised by the local sportsperson including female players who do not wish to be named that funds worth millions of rupees have been released by the government under different central and J & K government schemes but on ground nothing has been done.

    Dr Shazad said this is injustice with the local talented players who are capable of bringing laurels at National and International Level but who are deprived even of basic training centers and adequate facilities. He demanded immediate up gradation of sports infrastructure in the border district.

    He also apprised that JK-BADC would formally submit a detailed report to the concerned officers of the sports authorities and highlight the discrepancies. He also urged the Deputy Commissioner Poonch and District Sports officer Poonch to publish a list of all government sports facilities available( Indoor & Outdoor) for players and their daily opening and closing timing and schedule.

    UDHAMPUR, JUNE 05:–Nehru Yuva Kendra Udhampur, Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of India today started its last three Days Block level orientation training of youth volunteers and members of youth clubs on “Investors’ Awareness, Education and Protection” at Panchayat Dudu, Block Latti-Marothi of District Udhampur.

    The objective of the programme was to make the people aware of various investment schemes, protection from Ponzi schemes and cyber frauds.

    The three days programme was inaugurated by DDC Councillor, Pinky Devi, SDM Dudu, Kulraj Singh, Sarpanch, Dev Raj, in the presence of District Youth Officer, Khushal Gupta, Station House Officer, Tanvinder Singh, officials of JK Bank, police officials and members of youth clubs.

    The programme started with the traditional lamp lighting ceremony followed by the welcome address by DYO Khushal Gupta. He briefed about the objectives of organizing three days orientation programme in one of the remotest panchayats of the district. He added that the event being organised in collaboration with IEPFA, Ministry of Corporate Affairs aims at sensitizing the youth about Cyber Frauds, Government Securities, Banking and Insurance, Equities, Mutual Funds and Post Office schemes.

    He said that during the three days training, the resource persons/subject experts will deliver lectures associated with their respective departments. Mukesh Kumar (Manager JK Bank Dudu) gave an awareness lecture on various schemes and initiatives being taken by the government towards maximising financial inclusion. He made the youth aware about Atal Pension Yojana, Shram Yogi Man Dhan Yojana and different kinds of incentives that are given to the farmers and the marginalized.

    JKP S.I Tanvinder Singh stressed on cyber frauds and cyber bullying and spoke about means of their redressal.

    DDC Councillor, Pinky Devi appreciated the efforts of NYK Udhampur for reaching to the last mile and encouraged the youth to learn from such orientation programmes. She urged them to take this awareness at the village level. She focused on moral responsibility of all the citizens.

    SDM Kulraj Singh also gave an awareness lecture and told about the steps being taken by the administration to prevent financial losses of common people.

    Among others, NYVs Naresh Kumar, Pooja Devi, Anjali Sharma, Rakesh Singh, Anil Kumar and Anjali Anand were present.

    UDHAMPUR, JUNE 05:-‘ Like other parts of the country today World Environment Day was also celebrated with enthusiasm and gaiety under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner, Udhampur Krittika Jyotsna across the District Udhampur.

    On the eve of World- Environment Day and in recognition of the value and benefits the environment provides, A plantation drive and cleanliness drives were carried-out at various locations of the district in which students and staff members of the schools/colleges participated.

    The DC stated that there was a need of awareness among all the stakeholders of society and environment could be protected by the collective efforts of each and every members of the society. She said that the main objective of celebrating Environment Day was to make younger generation more sensitize towards environmental protection.

    The DC added that it is prime concern for all of us that we should keep our environment clean & green.

    It is pertinent to mention here that our small efforts can save & protect the environment and ultimately contribute to its beautification and glorification of our planet, it is our prime duty which we have to perform to save and protect the planet blue.

    UDHAMPUR, JUNE 05:– World Environment Day was today celebrated by the School Education Department of District Udhampur by implementing SVEEP Plan in consonance with the world environment day as per direction of District Election Officer Udhampur, Krittika Jyotsna.

    Chief Education Officer Udhampur Arvin Kumar Koul hailed all the HOIs and staff of the school for making this day grand successful by organising various activities on the eve of this day which includes SVEEP rally, debates, Quiz competition, Making Posters, Drawing competition on world environment day by making special reference to Electoral process, Speech on ELC books and Plantation drive at schools in general and at Polling Stations at particular.

    Eco-Clubs and Electoral Literacy clubs of Schools Jointly organised the activities and spread a message of “Clean India, Green India” and “greater Participation in democratic Electoral process by masses” to society through the students of schools.

    “Be it Swachh Bharat Mission or programs related to waste to wealth, or campaign to get rid of single use plastic , Schools efforts to protect the environment have been multifaceted,”.

    “On World Environment Day let us join hands to preserve and protect Mother Earth! Let us pledge to make Udhampur green, clean and livable. Waste and sewer management, plastic, e-waste, urban forests, water conservation and recycling should be our concern. We will do it together. “

    “121 High schools and 45 Higher Secondary schools of District Udhampur has conducted plantation drive by planting saplings of various medicinal plants, fruit plants and ornamental plants. World environment day is celebrated like a festival in all schools of Udhampur to inculcate the spirit of love for nature among students with message to increase Green forest cover of India which are considered as lungs of Earth which are at present less than optimum as per Ministry of Environment report.

    Cultural cell of Schools also make their endeavour to implement all the activities of World environment day by organising awareness rallies and programs to aware the masses about importance of green cover on earth and need to protect it by our joint efforts.

    Shopkeepers and general public were educated about hazards of polythene and others plastic products. Polytene bags were also recovered and replaced with cloth-bags during the event.

    UDHAMPUR JUNE 5:– Under ‘Puneet Sagar Abhiyan’, NCC Cadets of 1 J&K Girls Battalion of Government College for Women Udhampur conducted cleanliness drive at Holi Devika River.

    The NCC cadets encouraged the public to maintain cleanliness and regarding harmful effects of dumping garbage in water bodies. Udhampur Municipality also extended cooperation in the drive.

    The drive was organised under patronage of Principal GDC Dr Monika Sharma and supervision of Associate NCC Officer Prof Shallu Jasrotia.

    The aim of the event was to promote healthy habit of cycling and to reduce carbon footprint of individuals.

    Principal GCW, Prof Monika Sharma, congratulated Lt Kamal Deep Kaur and the cadets for the initiative.
