    RAJOURI, MAY 09:-
    -With a sharp increase in mercury People in many areas across the Rajouri district are dependent on hand pumps due to defunct water supply schemes and water supply through pipes after a gap of 2-3 days.
    Due to the heavy rush at hand pumps, in most of the areas hand pumps have become technically non-functional and the concerned authoritie’s (Jal Shakti department) lackadaisical attitude in the repairing of defunct hand pumps has added more problems to people’s lives when there is a sharp increase in the mercury.
    In the month of February, Romesh Chander, Sarpanch of Deeing Halqa in Nowshera & Head Master of the government middle school in a written complaint had informed the Executive Engineer, PHE Nowshera about the defunct hand pump at the government middle school at Deeing.
    His application was forwarded to the concerned AEE on 11/2/2022, but to date nothing has been done in this matter.
    Similarly, the people of Block Seri (Nowshera) through elected members of Mangla Mata, Block Chairman of Seri in the month of February had approached the Additional DC (Nowshera) with a written complaint about the defunct hand pump near the BDO office.
    But this complaint was also not attended by the concerned department to date.
    A similar complaint was made by the people of Dabbar in the month of March for the release of funds for the repairing of defunct pump claiming that people are facing many problems as for as drinking water is concerned.
    In this case also the people of Dabbar still waiting for any response from the Jal Shakti department officials.
    A hand pump in the vicinity of Bholi Mata Mandir Danidhar (Rajouri township) which was a source of safe drinking water for commuters & hundreds of souls living in the area, is non-functional for the last more than 20 days.
    But despite several approaches to the concerned authorities, nothing has been done in this matter.
    In this case also the people of Dabbar are still waiting for any response from the Jal Shakti department officials.
    Following several complaints lodged with Vikas Kundal during public grievances redressal camps, he directed the Chief Planning Officer (CPO) ,Mohd Khurshid to review the progress regarding the repair of defunct hand pumps across the district through a virtual mode.
    On Monday CPO reviewed the status of ongoing repair work and the progress achieved in this regard as of now wherein the concerned officers were briefed about the same.
    ”A list of hundred defunct hand pumps has been received and the repair work on these hand pumps was in progress,” said CPO
    CPO admitted that there are a number of hand pumps in the district, which need immediate repair to provide drinking water facilities to the general public during scorching summers.

From the day drilling wing has been grilled by UT Administration, the whole wing has lost senses, I am surprised what work is being carried out by drilling wing for which they are being paid.
    The geology and Mining website shows achievements of drilling wing Jammu up to 2013-14 only. Can Director Geology Mining and Chief Drilling Engineer Geology and Mining Department Jammu Kashmir answer what’s the progress of Drilling wing Jammu in last five years?
    What are the achievements of drilling wings except drawing salaries from state exchequer.The Drilling wing Jammu of Geology and Mining has proved to be white elephant for UT government. LG administration must look into the malpractices being carried out in Geology Mining department and initiate a high level probe to see loss to the govt exchequer moreover it’s high time to utilise services of idle sitting drilling officers of Jammu.
    Reshuffling of entire drilling wing Jammu to Kashmir and vice Versa is need of hour to control the loss caused by the defunct corrupt department.

    Police said that an information was received through reliable sources that one person namely Prem Singh son of Bharat singh resident of Budhal Rajouri has uploaded a sensitive photograph on a social media platform.

    The sensitive photograph having potential of promoting enemity between different religious groups.

    On this information, a case in FIR no 40 /2022 under relevant section of law has been registered in police station Budhal and investigation has been started.

    Police said that no one will be allowed to disturb peaceful situation and to take law in hands.

    LANGATE,MAY,09 ::– President Munciple committee LANGATE Mir Sadiq and vice president Rather Jameel on Monday lost no-confidence motion that was moved against them, led-by group of councillors under the banner of Advocate Shahnawaz.

    Officials told that a floor test was conducted in which 13 counsellors took part in process.

    The officials said, that out of 13
    councillors, 08 went against Mir Sadiq and 11 went against Vice president Jameel Rather”Last week, O7 councillors submitted the no-confidence motion against the incumbent president SADIQ MIR and Jameel Rather promoting authorities to conduct floor test, ” they said.

    Mir Sadiq was elected as chairman while Jameel Rather was elected Vice Chairman of Municipal committee Langate in Dec.2018 .

    The whole election was observed by Tehsildar Langate,EO.MC.Langate and other officials of election cell Kupwara. Meanwhile security arrangements were tightened by district police Handwara under supervision of SHO. Handwara and DO.Langate.

    — The Cultural & Literary Committee of Government Degree College, Chenani, under the auspices of NSS Unit Prayatna and AKAM, celebrated the Birth Anniversary of Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore with great fervour and gaiety here today.
    The Program began with garlanding of the portrait of the Nobel Laureate by the Principal of the College and a brief address by her.
     At the outset, Anita Devi, Sem- I presented a captivating performance of Pujarini dance also known as Natir Puja, a Tale of Devotion and Sacrifice as Opposed to Jealousy and Tyranny composed by Rabindranath Tagore.
    It is a dance drama developed around the idea of Buddhist philosophy that induces people to lead a simple life, to gain an understanding of the injustice and inequality prevailing in society, and to acquire knowledge and develop a deeper insight about the universe.
    Parveen Akhter recited the verses from different poems composed by the Great Poet, followed by a recitation by Nishu Devi of Semester -I on ôdi Tor Dak Shune Keu Na Ase Tôbe Ekla Chôlo Re (“If no one responds to your call, then go your own way alone”), commonly known as EKLA CHÔLO RE, a Bengali patriotic song written by Rabindranath Tagore in 1905.
     Vikas Katoch of semester III read out the poem “Where the mind is without fear” a pre-independence poem in which the poet sincerely urges God to awaken his fellow beings for the realization that the essential need to live in a free and united country. He wants his countrymen to awake and enjoy the life of full dignity and honour.
     Sakshi Sharma, Meenakshi Thakur, Mannat Kumar, Ambika and others performed a Skit entitled “Kabuliwala”. A tale of heart-rending friendship between a 5-year-old Bengali girl Minnie and an Afghan money lender, Abdur Rahman or Rahamat. The students beautifully enacted the bond of mutual affection and the unconventional relationship between the two.
    Vansh Katoch dressed up as Rabindranath Tagore shed light on his life and teachings.
    The Principal of the College, Dr. Pragya Khanna appreciated the performances of the students and congratulated the staff and the organizers, Anita Kumari, Asst. Prof. in English & Shagufta Saleem,  Lecturer in Geography for composing such an enthralling event. She emphasized that although a renowned Nobel Prize-winning poet Tagore prioritized poetry, he also made notable contributions to literature as a dramatist, novelist, short story writer, and writer of nonfictional prose, especially essays, criticism, philosophical treatises, journals, memoirs, and letters. In addition, he expressed himself as musician, painter, actor-producer-director, educator, patriot, and social reformer and continues to inspire millions till date.
    The students were presented mementoes for their appreciable performances and were served refreshments. The Program ended with singing of the National Anthem.

    KUPWARA MAY 09:–Blood donation for transfusion is a vital step in the management of many clinical problems, with the two primary indications being anemia and acute blood loss. Blood donation itself is also used to primarily treat a small subset of medical conditions. At the beginning of the 20th century, Karl Landsteiner identified ABO blood groups, at which time blood typing of individuals was only beginning to be adopted as a universally standard practice.

    As part of their undying commitment towards betterment and security of Kashmiri Awam, Indian Army soldiers donated 105 units of blood to the Kupwara district hospital.

    The team of Blood Bank officials from Kupwara District Hospital appreciated the gesture of selfless service in helping the needy with this noble gesture.

    In yet another instance, Indian Army has proved that they are always in forefront be it guarding the borders, fighting terrorism or lending a helping hand in serving the community.

    UDHAMPUR MAY 09:– Continuing its endavour to seek help of locals in controlling and preventing forest fire. Udhampur Police organized an interaction to sensitize people living adjacent forests about the impact of forest fire and also discussed how to tackle forest fire incidents. The meeting in Basht, Chenani was conducted by SDPO Chenani Sh. Ahmed Shaafi regarding the fire incident into the forest areas/hilly areas. The meeting were attended by Sarpanch, Ex.Sarpanch, Panches and other prominent peoples of Village Chenani, Bisht etc. and their adjacent areas.

    During the meeting SDPO Chenani made the people aware about importance of forests and impact of forest fire on environment. As It also increases erosion and alters the physical and chemical properties of the soil. Forest fires cause a lot of damage to the ecosystem. Soil composition is affected, the quality of forest produce declines and wildlife is destroyed. These fires cause irreparable loss to both tangible and intangible benefits from forests. Fire reduces the quality of forest produce, renders forests prone to diseases, degrades soil composition and destroys wildlife too. The participants were also requested to communicate the message to the other people in their surroundings and motivate the volunteers for protecting the forest and wild life resources from Forest fire.

    Similarly, a PCPG meeting was co chaired by SDPO Chenani Sh. Ahmed Shaafi and SHO Police Station Kud at Natha Top area in which the Prominent citizens of Kud, Nathatop, Patnitop area are participated, where few incidents of forest fire have reported and people have been apprised and their help has been sought in scuttling this fire to expand. While addressing the participants, SDPO Chenani appealed to the participants to help the forest/ Police department in controlling forest fire incidents.

    Udhampur Police presented vote of Thanks to all the participants as well as public of Chenani and Kud present during the meeting.

    He said that the BG to Balnoi Road is the basic demand of the people of Block Mankote and Sub division Mendhar and it’s construction work should be initiated as soon as possible.
    He further put forth the issues faced by common masses due to the scarcity of water in the areas of Block Mankote, The water lift schemes are also not working due to the failure of PHE Department.
    He also discussed the unavailability of power workshop in Sub division Mendhar. People are forced to live under darkness for months.
    So, He requested that there should be Installation of Power Workshop for Transformer Repairing and authorities should be strictly instructed and made accountable to ensure quality work and reliable power and water supply.

    —In a heart-wrenching viral video on Social media platform, an almost 60% disabled serving CRPF personnel has alleged that he has paid Rs16000/- as a bribe to two doctors of Government Medical College & Associated Hospital (GMC&AH) Rajouri for issuing a disability certificate in his favour.
    In the viral video Adalat Hussain, CRPF personnel r/o Saj village alleged that the doctors had demanded Rs 40,000 (Rs 20,000 each) for the disability certificate and despite the fact that he was fully bedridden, he visited the GMC&AH with the help of family members and the doctors took one month to issue the certificate.
    “For the last four years I am undergoing treatment at AIIMS, Delhi and and to get a railway reservation on disability quota, I was in dire need of a disability certificate,” said Adalat Hussain.
    “As I was facing financial restrain, I requested the surgeon & orthopaedic doctor to issue disability certificate but the matter was settled for Rs 8000/- (for both doctors) and initially they issued certificate for 35% disability (by ortho) and 50% by the surgeon respectively,” said Adalat Hussain in a viral video.
    He added as it does not serve his purposes, he again paid Rs 8000/- to them and a fresh certificates were issued by them with 55% (ortho) and 60% disabilities by the surgeon respectively.
    All four disability certificates are in the possession of Adalat Hussain.
    According to Adalat Hussain he is posted with 220 Bn of CRPF, VIP security. While performing the duty, he met with an accident on March 7 in 2019 & received critical injuries.
    He was treated at GMC Jammu and due to critical condition was airlifted (air ambulance to AIIMS on March 9.
    He had got blunt chest trauma, left chest ribs multiple fractures with left side Hemothorax, blunt abdominal trauma, complex pelvic fracture, backbone fracture, rectal injury and urinary bladder rupture etc.
    Presently, Adalat Hussain is on an artificial urinal & artificial stool track for the last 3 years and is currently under the supervision of NS CRPF Hospital (RK Puram)& undergoing medical treatment in AIIMS Delhi & 4 major surgeries are yet to be performed.
    Adalat Hussain had applied for a disability certificate online through the website of a Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment GoI.
    In the video Adalat has leveled allegations of bribe and misuse of official positions by both the doctors at GMC&AH Rajouri and has also appealed to Lt Governor, Director Health Services Director Anti Corruption Bureau ,CBI and other Central agencies to come forward for his rescue.
    “Both the doctors might have issued fake disability certificates and had collected huge amount in the past, which is evident from my case, and the competent authorities should also verify & cross-examine the record of already issued certificates”.
    “After the viral video, Adalat has been receiving phone calls from prominent central as well as state agencies and have extended full cooperation.
    After the viral video, Vikas Kundal, Deputy Commissioner Rajouri has initiated an inquiry against the two doctors to be conducted by Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Pawan Kumar Parihar.
    “A video is viral on social media wherein a complainant has alleged that 2 doctors of GMC Rajouri have demanded bribe for issuance of disability certificate. He has also alleged that the same set of doctors have taken bribe in the past also for the issuance of disability certificates. In order to ascertain the facts ADDC, Pawan K Parihar is hereby appointed as inquiry Officer, ” reads DC order No.DCR/2022-23/PA/63-64 dt 8/5/2022.
