    RAJOURI, APRIL 22:-
    -With an aim to provide a bouquet of health services free of cost at the doorstep of the people living in remote areas and who can’t afford treatment in the hospitals, Kandi Health Block in Rajouri district going to organise a Health Mela at Kotranka in Kotranka sub-division.
    All the necessary arrangements for organising the Health Mela under the aegis of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav at the Irrigation Department’s ground at Kotranka have been completed” said Dr. Iqbal Malik, Block Medical Officer (BMO).
    He added that wide publicity about health services in the Health Mela has already been made and inhabitants of Kotranka sub-division have been advised to avail the facilities free of cost.
    Dr. Iqbal said that in the Health Mela, the people will also be made aware of different schemes and programs of the government launched for their welfare.
    “It also aims to raise awareness on different health and family welfare programs,” said Dr. Iqbal.
    He also asked members of the Panchayats and the officers/officials of other departments to mobilise the local population to make the Health Mela purposeful so that the general people are benefitted.
    Health Mela will be organised under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner Rajouri and the district administration is committed to provide the best Health care facilities to the people.

    UDHAMPUR, APRIL 22:– In continuation to the Puneet Sagar Abhiyaan, the NCC cadets of 2 J&K NCC girls Battalion Udhampur today visited 14 EME Paper Gallery Factory to learn about making Paper bags.

    The visit was initiated to spread the message of using paper bags instead of plastic and to commemorate Earth-Day. The cadets had brought old clothes and paper from home to get hands on practice and learn the procedure of making paper bags.

    The College Principal, Prof. Minu Mahajan encouraged the NCC Cadets ‘Samaritans’ present at the gathering to actively participate in keeping their surroundings and the ecosystem clean and beautiful.

    The 2 J&K girls Battalion, Jammu appreciated the ANO and the cadets for their interest and effort towards making the program, and Puneet Sagar Abhiyan a grand success. The entire event was coordinated by Lt(Dr) Kamal Deep Kaur, Associate NCC Officer of the College.

    The World Earth Day on April 22, 2022 under the theme “Invest in Our Planet” was organized by Nature & Adventure Club, Faculty of Agriculture, Wadura in collaboration with National Agricultural Higher Education Project (NAHEP) SKUAST-K, to pledge for the sustainable participation of academic minds of the student fraternity in reaching the aim of addressing the pressing problems of climate change. This day is celebrated every year to acknowledge climate change and to create awareness about the same all across the globe. This day is an opportunity to bring billions to connect and discuss problems like pollution, loss of biodiversity, deforestation, and depleting quality of the environment. At the outset, Prof. Raihana H. Kanth, Dean Faculty of Agriculture, enlightened the students with the importance of World Earth Day. She emphasized that on this day; let us reaffirm our commitment towards creating a better planet for our future generations and work together to mitigate the menace of climate change. Mr. Yadvinder Singh Sasson, CAO Baramulla who was the chief guest, precisely describes major initiatives undertaken by the Govt. of Jammu & Kashmir towards a greener & cleaner nation. Dr. Zahoor A. Bhat, CHO Baramulla, called upon every human being on upholding the objectives of safeguarding and saving the Mother Earth against the wanton destruction of the forest, animals and the pollution of water bodies, air, soil across the world which is resulting in climate change. The event was celebrated by organizing a plantation drive, elocution, painting and photography competition. The winners of the competitions conducted during the event were felicitated by the Dean with certificates and prizes. The programme was attended by heads of various divisions, faculty members and more than 200 UG/PG students of the faculty & students of nearby schools. Dr Khurseed Ahmad Dar welcomed all guests in the inaugural sessions while as vote of thanks was proposed by Dr Ajaz Qureshi organising Secretary of the today’s program.

    RAJOURI, APRIL 21:– With the objective to provide marketing facilities to local Artisans, SHGs, Small Scale Entrepreneurs to sell their product, Deputy Commissioner Rajouri Vikas Kundal today inaugurated Village Haat at Muradpur alongside NH 144 A.

    Additional District Development Commissioner Rajouri, Pawan Parihar; ACD, Vijay Verma, BDO Rajouri, Chanderkant Bhagat, Sarpanch concerned, an officer from NLM and other departments were present during the event.

    Speaking at the inaugural event, the DC said that the Rural Haat has been established particularly for those who have no individual and separate marketing facilities for selling their products.

    He said the main objective of the rural haat was to provide a marketing platform to farmers, small scale entrepreneurs and SHG members to sell their agri-horti, handloom, handicrafts and livestock produce at one place, and this will further play a crucial towards ameliorating their socio-economic conditions.

    The Deputy Commissioner also shared details of various development initiatives and programs taken up in the district like training of SHGs, and artisans etc.

    Later, the DC also inspected the site of the Goberdhan project.

    RAJOURI, APRIL 22:– Intending to offer a bouquet of health services free of cost and enhance awareness about different schemes/programmes of the Government, the department of health and family welfare Rajouri today organised a block health mela here at Darhal.

    The event was organized under the aegis of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav and was inaugurated by the ACR, Imran Rashid Kataria in presence of Block Development chairperson, Mohammad Aslam Malik.

    During the program, varied health services including general health checkup, free medicines distribution, sputum tests, leprosy test, eye check up, ENT checkup, registration of beneficiaries under SEHAT etc were provided to the general public.

    While addressing the event, the ACR highlighted the objective of the program and said that it aims to raise awareness on different health and family welfare programmes.

    He also stressed upon the PRI members and officers of the line departments to mobilise the local population in other Medical Blocks to make these Health Melas purposeful so that general people are benefitted.

    He also appealed to the public to ensure maximum participation in these programs to avail the necessary health benefits. He also maintained that these programs would continue to be organised in the near future also.

    “District Administration Rajouri under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner Rajouri is committed to provide best Health care facilities,” he reiterated.

    Earlier, the Block Medical Officer Darhal also highlighted the achievements of the Block Darhal in terms of vaccination, immunisation and other health services.

    She reiterated that Block Health officers are committed to provide better healthcare services to the locals of Darhal area.

    She urged the public to participate in the event and get maximum benefits.

    POONCH APRIL 22:–A drive was started at GMS Seri khawaja in which all the students and teachers participated to ensure cleanliness in the surroundings of their school.
    Head Master Pankaj Sharma , Nawaz Ahmed (Teacher) , Naveed Bi(teacher ) and Physical Teacher Pervaiz Malik Afridi along with the students took part in this drive.

    All the participants were given a form to fill up which includes the particulars of participants in the event.
    The motive behind this campaign is to keep the educational institutions neat and clean.

    This drive ll reach every school in different zones of Distt. Poonch in coming days. It is our prime duty to take care of our national properties and not to make them a place to store garbage and wastage. Schools are sacred places and need to be cared, said head master pankaj sharma.

    UDHAMPUR APRIL 22:–Police in Udhampur under the overall supervision of SSP Dr. Vinod Kumar-IPS, arrested 03 Bovines smugglers, seized 02 vehicles and rescued 30 Bovines which were being smuggled without any permission. Police team led by SHO PS Chenani Insp. Charanjeet Singh under the supervision of SDPO Chenani Sh. Ahmed Shaafi , Seized 01 vehicle carrying bovines without any valid permission and 22 bovine animals rescued and 02 bovine smugglers namely Abdul rehman S/O Ghulam Mohd. R/O Magarkote, Ramban and Shoket Ahmed S/O Nek Alam R/O Douru, Anantnag were arrested. In this regard, FIR Nos. 61/2022 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Chenani and further investigation is going on.

    In another incident, during the wee hours, Police party of PS Majalta intercepted one dumper bearing registration no. JK19-7278 and rescued 08 Bovines at Battal Morh, Majalta which were being illegally smuggled towards valley without any valid permission. In this regard, Case FIR no. 26/2022 U/S 188 IPC, 11PCA Act has been registered in Police Station Majalta, the said vehicle got seized and bovine smuggler namely Imtiaz Ali S/O Parvaiz Ahmed R/O Pahalgam, District Anantnag got arrested for illegal transporting the bovines.

    Pertinently, Udhampur Police has registered 83 FIRs in different police stations including those in hinterland of district and rescued 756 Bovine animals this year so far while 78 Vehicles have been seized in bovine smuggling cases and 99 persons arrested.
    Udhampur Police appeals the general public to report if any such case is seen to nearest Police establishment or PCR Udhampur for legal action.
