    JAMMU JANUARY 10:– It is a great moment of pride for whole Pirpunjal , that two cricketers from loran area of Poonch who are getting free coaching under the supervision of Pervaiz Malik Afridi coach and mentor of Rahul Dravid Cricket Academy, Poonch.

    Both the players got selected from INCL General Bipin Rawat , T20 trophy in Goa. Both the players performed extremely well in the league at Goa.

    Pervaiz Malik while speaking said , it’s proud moment for me as their coach and teachers , he said he is working with the students on both their skills physical training and as well as their cricketing skills .

    He expressed deep appreciation and also extend best wishes to his both the students and their parents . He also said their is always great guidance from wall of cricket – Rahul Dravid .

    Haandwara January 10:–Handwara Police continuing its efforts to strengthen Police- Public relationship, organised a police -public interactive meeting at Police Station Handwara.

    The meeting was chaired by Addl. Superintendent of Police Handwara Irshad Hussain-JKPS besides SHO PS Handwara Inspector Parvaiz Ahmad was also present in the meeting.

    The meeting was attended by the members of traders federation and transporters of Handwara.

    The meeting was conveyed to hear the issues of Public and to make a strong bond between Police and Public and to brief the participants about the rising cases of Covid19 in the valley, the measures and SOPs issued by the Govt to prevent the spread of virus.

    In the meeting, the participants raised various issues related to police and other civil departments. The chairing officer assured the participants that their genuine grievances pertaining to police will be resolved on priority and the issues pertaining to civil administration will be taken up with the concerned departments for their early redressal. He also sought their co-operation in harmonizing Police -Public relationship.

    The participants were also asked for their full co-operation in adherence to the guidelines as well as health advisories issued by government from time to time in view of Covid -19 pandemic to which they gave full assurance.

    The participants appreciated the work of Handwara Police and timely action against drug peddlers, implementation of Covid SOPs, rendering Public service and in addressing public grievence in a possible time.The meetings ended on a positive note.

    Handwara January 10:-On the directions of DDC Kupwara Imam u din a team of officers headed by TSO Handwara Mohd Hussain along with other officers conduct market checking at Handwara area of North kashmir kupwara district on Monday.
    In addition Rs 900 was also taken as fine from the misguided shops and violators present on the spot.

    POONCH JANUARY 09:– Javid Iqbal a product of Rahul Dravid Cricket Academy secured his place in a National level event which is going to be held in Delhi .

    Javid is the first player of Distt . Poonch who got selected for the Shining Star Premier league.

    While taking to media persons, Founder and Coach RDCA Poonch Pervaiz Malik Afridi said that it’s a proud moment for the management of RDCA and Distt . Poonch. His selection has encouraged many others to focus and works hard in future. He also said that his main target is to explore the talent from far flung and ignored area of Distt. Poonch. Javid also belongs to Loran area of Poonch. He made us and whole Distt. Proud and we hope his performance ll land him to much bigger events of international level soon.

    It is pertinent to mention here that RDCA is providing free coaching to 260 players of all age categories proplery registered with the academy.

    They won a National event from Sonipat recently and now Javid iqbal of Loran achieved another feat .

    Many citizens and cricket lover appreciated Pervaiz Malik Afridi for his outstanding work and hardwork done on the players.

    :– Despite tall claims by the SEs & Executive Engineers of the Power Development Department (PDD) & Jal Shakti Department (PHE) about restorations of electricity & water supply in most parts of the district, the inhabitants of many areas of the district alleges crises of these essential services for hours together.
    A strong protest was held today at Chaprian (Jawahar Nagar) in Ward No.5 Rajouri against the Jal Shakti department and the protesters blocked the Rajouri-Kalakot-Jammu road for more than one hour alleging the department has failed to provide drinking water to their area for the last about one month.
    “Despite several representations to SE, Executive Engineer, these officers didn’t bother to mitigate our problems. The protest was against to wake them from the deep slumber and to assess the people’s problems on the spot” the protesters said.
    Executive Engineer, Jal Shakti visited the protesters and assured for early restoration of regular water supply to the area.
    Meanwhile, Vikas Kundal, District Development Commissioner (DDC) on Sunday visited various grid stations and water pumping stations and took a firsthand assessment of progress in the restoration of power and drinking water supply disrupted due to recent incessant rains and snowfall.
    The DDC visited Thudi Grid Station along with SE Power Development Department, Sandeep Seth, EXN EMRE, Noretam Kumar, EXN Jal Shakti, Mushtaq Ahmed, EXN STD, and other staff of the power division.
    “Power in Rajouri town and in its adjoining areas has been restored except for the Kotranka areas,” said Sandeep Seth.
    Grid station at Thudi had developed some technical snag due to overload & the officials are trying to rectify it at the earliest.
    The DDC directed the Executive Engineer /EMRE to ensure power supply in the Kotranka and Thanamandi areas at the earliest.
    Out of 120 feeders, 90 are functioning properly, the DDC was informed.
    About the water supply status in the Rajouri town, Jal Shakti officers informed the DDC that the concerned officers are regulating the supply besides the people are being provided water through tankers.
