?a????? ???????? ?? ??????,?????? ?? ??????? ?? ??????? Pa????? ?? ??????,?? ???? ????? ??? ??? ????? ;??. ??? ???. ????? ???.
??????? December 07:-Reservations on the whole have been a debatable issue in j&k. Especially the criterion adopted for granting the reservations are politically driven and lack transparency. But then the reality is that many communities have been granted reservations and many others ignored irrespective of who deserves and who doesn’t deserve.
The frivolous debates of both pro and anti reservationists at its place but Paharis cannot effort more disempowerment keeping in mind the never ending agonies and hardships that they have been facing on routine basis.
Gujjar vs Pahari has been a successful political card played by different political parties from time to time for vote bank politics and has thus created a further divide between the two communities. Gujjars have been adamantly opposing grant of any type of reservation to Paharis due to various apprehensions they have about granting reservation to Paharis, but if debated these apprehensions are just a bizarre logic to oppose Pahari’s interests and demands & Unfortunately Some are spitting poison on pharis .
Gujjar community having a sizable representation in politics and bureaucracy of J&K, has always used its position and power against grant of any special privileges to Pahari community.
Pahari’s yearn for real recognition but politicization of their issues and bias against their rights or reservation demand is badly affecting them. There has been very little insights about the socio-anthropology, culture and life patterns of this community.
Thus Paharis have always been confused with Gujjar community and thought of as Gujjars.
Mere steps like an advisory Board and a few student hostels are not enough to uplift this marginalized community facing adverse poverty and backwardness. Rather, they need real empowerment.
They want a special status so as to move forward and be at par with other communities in the state. They don’t seek this privilege just on linguistic basis but are striving hard, for they want to find a way to coexist with dignity.
